Chapter 52 - Luna's Second Chance Beta
Four Months Later
Emma POV
I can't believe that Scarlett is due any day now. After Xander decided that he would become Alpha we moved a week later. Xander has become an amazing Alpha and all the pack loves him. It was a pretty easy transition for me because the pack already knew me, but they had to learn the type of leader that Xander would be. It also made it easier that Neal once again became Beta. Cassie and Sarah are due in a month, and we all are over the moon about us all raising our pups together. I can't wait to be an aunt. We visit the Wildfire pack often and even though Xane and Xander don't see each other every day they are closer than ever. They actually are coming today so they can be here for Scarletts birth. I can't wait to see Sarah and her baby bump. They decided to wait to find out until the baby is born. I could never do that I always want to be prepared. It's funny but Xane has bought enough of everything it won't matter what the baby is. We finished Scarlett's nursery last week and Xander definitely went overboard too. Cassie and Neal wanted to know the minute they could find out. They are having a boy they decided to call Michael Kevin Black. He will be the Beta of the Crimson pack when he is grown.
Xander comes out of our bedroom dressed for the day. "Precious I have to go meet with Neal at the training field to look at the new techniques they have been learning." "Are you sure you will be ok without me for a little while?" I will be fine Xander just go and stop worrying. If I need you, I can link you. He kisses me and heads out the door. I am heading to meet with Mauve and Thomas to have breakfast. I am excited to have Scarlett, to meet her and also so I can stop peeing every ten minutes from her pushing on my bladder. I reach the house that Thomas and Mauve had built near the pack house. Before I can even knock Thomas opens the door. He leads me inside; all these Wolfe men act like woman have never had pups. They are all so nervous. Mauve comes out of the kitchen laughing "Thomas leave that poor girl alone, she is pregnant not paralyzed." I sit and he takes a seat across from me. "I just want her to take it easy, my granddaughter is going to be here soon." She rolls her eyes and sets plates in front of both of us. After we eat breakfast, I decide to walk around because the pack doctor said that would help to move things along. I walk out to the garden when I get a pain in my back. It's enough I have to stop and breathe through it. I'm not going to tell Xander, yet it could be hours before she comes. I decide to head up to our floor and lay down to see if the pain goes away. Once I'm in bed I start timing the contractions.
Xander POV
I hate having to go to the training field and leave Emma alone but at least she is going to breakfast with my parents. I am just about ready to head back to our floor when I get a frantic mind link from Emma telling me she needs me because she is in labor. I take off at top speed toward our room and mind link the doctor to be ready for the Luna to give birth. When I enter, I room she is writhing in pain on our bed. Emma why didn't you call me earlier, we need to get you to the hospital. I go to pick her up and she screams. "Xander it's too late she is coming I can't move." Emma I am the only one here we need the doctor. "Then link her and pray she gets here before I push this pup out because she is coming whether you like it or not." I lift Emma's dress and I can see the top of my daughter's head. I don't know anything about delivering pups precious. "Well, I'm doing all the work you just have to catch." I link the pack doctor, just hold on till she gets here Emma. If looks could kill, I would be dead. Ok precious I'm here I'll catch her. Emma bares down beginning to push, and I can see my little girl's face emerging. It's amazing how strong Emma is and what her body has done. It's like she knows what to do and before long I am holding my daughter in my arms. The pack doctor comes rushing in, but she is already here. "Congratulations Alpha and Luna on your baby girl." A nurse came in with her and they go to work checking Emma and Scarlett over. Once they are all done, they set Scarlett in Emma's arms and leave the room.
Emma POV
Xander comes to lay beside me while I hold our daughter. She is perfect and the Moon Goddess delivered when she said she would look nothing like Chase. She is my mini me and it seems she even gave her something of Xander, his beautiful eyes. I look over at Xander, you were amazing my love. "I was amazing all I did was catch precious you did all the work." We sit and just stare at Scarlett this beautiful little girl. After a few minutes it seems that everyone has arrived. Our whole family comes in and passes our daughter around. As I watch all the love this special child will have, I silently thank the Moon Goddess for all she gave me despite what I had to endure. Xander leans down and kisses me gently. He whispers in my ear "when do you think we can start working on a sister or brother for Scarlett." I slap his arm, are you crazy I just gave birth. I need a little time to recover. He laughs and kisses me again. Sarah comes over and hugs me. "I'm so glad that you found the man that was made to love you and that beautiful little girl." Me too Sarah, I am so happy that sometimes life gives us second chances and he was mine.
