Husband and wife

Husband and wife
As I sternly confronted the man, I demanded, "Let go of the chair." He grinned, clenching his teeth and defiantly dragging the chair with me.
Frowning, I stood my ground and declared, "No, I won't let go." Determined, I twisted the chair in his hand, causing him to release it in pain. Holding his injured hand, he looked at me in surprise and asked, "Who are you?"

Unwavering, I replied, "That's not the issue. Why are you treating your wife as if she is a stranger?" My glare intensified as I spoke.

"She doesn't want to work. She keeps stealing my money all day," he retorted, looking at me with a mixture of frustration and accusation.

"She is your wife. If you don't provide her with an allowance, she may resort to taking your money," I explained, casting a compassionate gaze at the woman who lay on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Who told you I don't give her an allowance? I do, but she still feels the need to steal from me," he countered.

Turning my attention to the woman, I squatted down to her level and gently asked, "Is it true? Why would you steal his money even after he has given you an allowance?" Her eyes met mine, filled with a profound sense of pain. I could feel her anguish.

"He gives me an allowance, but today our youngest son wasn't feeling well. I had to take him to the hospital, and they demanded a significant sum of money. After giving them all the money I had, they still insisted I buy medicine for him. That's why I resorted to stealing his money. I tried explaining the situation to him, but he wouldn't listen," she whispered softly, her voice laden with desperation.

"Don't listen to her! This woman is a bloody liar. She steals my money daily," the man interjected, glaring at me.

Understanding her predicament and the difficult choices she had to make, I asked bluntly, "How much money are we talking about?"

"30,000 dollars," the man responded. Realizing that I didn't have that amount of money with me, I felt a surge of determination.

"In a husband-wife relationship, both parties are responsible for their children. But in your situation, it seems like she is the father and you are the mother," I pointedly remarked, locking eyes with the man who now gazed at me with lowered eyebrows and a furrowed brow.

Nathan walked over, holding my lifted arm, and suggested, "Let's go." Feeling a surge of courage, I turned to him and made a bold request, "Nathan, can you lend me some money?"

Curious, he inquired, "How much?"

"About 30,000 dollars," I stated firmly, observing his reaction intently.

"What do you need it for?" he asked, his gaze fixed on me.

"I need to give it to this man so he stops maltreating his wife," I explained. Nathan looked at me for a moment, then retrieved his phone from his pocket and handed it to the man.

"Please enter your account number here so I can transfer the money to you," he instructed, extending his phone. The man took the phone, pressed a few buttons, and handed it back to Nathan. With purposeful swiftness, Nathan initiated the transaction.

"I have sent you the money. Now, let this innocent woman go in peace," Nathan declared, as I swiftly helped the woman to her feet.

"Thank you so much, my darling. God will bless you, and you will marry a good husband," the woman expressed her gratitude, unaware of my own marital status

"Let's go, Lucy," Nathan said, taking my hand. We began to walk away from the scene, but my intuition nudged me to look back. To my horror, I witnessed the man forcing the woman's head into the water.

Without hesitation, I rushed back to them and delivered a powerful punch to the man's face, causing him to stagger and fall to the ground, his eyes watering and saliva escaping his mouth. Infuriated, Nathan cursed and kicked the man, but it appeared that he had passed out and remained unresponsive.

"I regret sending him that money!" Nathan exclaimed, his eyes ablaze with anger.

The woman, now free from her torment, expressed her gratitude once again. "Thank you so much for your help today. How will I ever repay you?" she asked, looking at me with a mix of relief and gratitude.

"No need to thank me. I'm glad I could help. Just stay healthy and take care of yourself," I reassured her, gently wiping away her tears.

Nathan and I continued our journey, his admiration for my strength and fearlessness evident in his words. As we walked, he inquired about my family, prompting a momentary pause from me. Suddenly, my gaze fixed upon a nearby building with the word "Cinema" boldly displayed at the top.

"Finally! We've reached the cinema," I exclaimed, standing in front of the entrance, a wide smile adorning my face. Nathan reciprocated the smile, and together, we prepared to embark on our cinematic adventure.
