An angel

An angel
"Tastes good!" she exclaimed, savoring the food and closing her eyes.

"Get ready soon, my queen. Nathan will be here any moment," Medusa grinned.

"Ugh! Humans can't let a lady enjoy her weekend," Lucinda grumbled, taking a sip of water.

"They can't resist leaving a beautiful woman alone," Medusa remarked, smirking.

Lucinda walked over to her wardrobe and asked, "What should I wear?"

"Hmm, wear whatever you like. You look beautiful in anything," Medusa scoffed.

Lucinda chose a purple strapless gown and struggled with the zip. Medusa approached her and helped with the zip.

"You look stunning," Medusa complimented. Lucinda twirled in her dress.

"Come, let me braid your hair," Medusa offered. Lucinda sat on the bed, showing her hair to Medusa.

Medusa gently combed and braided Lucinda's hair.

"I wonder how Ralph is spending his weekend," Lucinda mused, a smile gracing her face.

"Wait, who is Ralph?" Medusa asked curiously.

"He's the magical human," Lucinda replied.

"Ralph, a nice name. It's the name of an angel that accompanies Tobias's son in the Bible," Medusa muttered.

"In the Bible? Give me a break. Have you ever seen an angel?" Lucinda asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Not really, but I've heard an angel mention that name," Medusa replied.

"Okay, if you say so. But I think people can have the same name as angels. It's not a big deal," Lucinda replied. Medusa finished braiding her hair into one big braid.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Lucinda shot Medusa a quizzical look.

"I believe he's here," she stated.

"Can you tell him to go away? I don't want to go out with him," Lucinda lamented, covering her face with her hand.

"Then you'll have to tell him yourself," Medusa said, pushing her towards the door.

Lucinda took a deep breath and slowly opened the door, revealing Nathan standing there, his ocean blue eyes gazing at her.

"Good morning," he said, giving her a cute smile that revealed his dimples.

"Good morning. How can I help you?" Lucinda shrugged.

"Stop acting silly and come with me," he said, taking her hand. Lucinda glanced at their intertwined hands.

He led her out of the house, and she shot Medusa a look that said, "This is your fault."

They reached the front of the building, and Nathan released her hand, coming to a stop.

"You look beautiful today," he grinned.

"Did you bring me out here just to tell me that?" Lucinda scoffed, turning away.

"Why the attitude? It's the weekend, you should be having fun," he whined, and she turned to face him.

"Fun? How?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"That's more like it. Come, let me show you," he said, leading her away from the building.

Lucinda scanned the surroundings with her eyes, and Nathan noticed her gaze.

"What are you looking for?" he asked curiously.

"Are we going to walk? Didn't you bring your car?" she inquired.

"No, I didn't bring it. Walking can be fun, you know," he said, strolling alongside her.

"I hate walking. It stresses my beautiful legs. That's why most times I fl..." she paused.

"You what?" he asked, arching his eyebrows.

"It's nothing," she replied, continuing to walk with him.

"Do you know where we're going?" he asked, slipping his hand into his pocket.

"How would I know?" she asked, rolling her eyes and moving at a leisurely pace.

"We're going to the cinema to watch a horror movie," he grinned.

"What's a horror movie?" she asked, genuinely clueless.

"A horror movie is like a scary movie. It'll make you feel all sorts of emotions like fear, curiosity, and so on," he explained with a smirk.

"And why do you want to watch it with me?" she asked, scrutinizing him.

"I enjoy watching horror movies, but no one wants to watch them with me. I would've taken you to my house instead, but we're just getting to know each other," he said, locking eyes with her.

"Don't you have friends?" she asked bluntly.

"I do have friends, but they're all focused on their own interests. And don't worry, don't be scared, I'll protect you while we watch the film," he reassured her, a smile playing on his lips. Lucinda glared at him.

"Protect me? Nah! I don't think so," she muttered, pouting.

"You're acting fearless in front of me, but I know that movie will reveal your true colors," he said, causing her to bite her lower lip and gaze at him oddly.

Lucinda's POV

We started walking to the cinema. I've never been to one before, and I hate walking. Why walk when you have a car? Some humans, like Nathan, don't understand the purpose of a car.

Suddenly, I spotted a woman on the road screaming. A man approached her and forcefully threw her to the ground.

"You thief! You always steal my money. Today, I'll teach you a lesson," the man declared, yanking her hair and dragging her along the ground. My blood boiled at the sight. Why do humans treat each other like this? No wonder my husband told me humans are cruel.

"Lucy! Lucy!" Nathan called, poking me as I stared at the scene. The man was about to strike the woman's head with a chair.

I walked away from Nathan. It felt as if something was compelling me. I couldn't simply stand and watch like Nathan.

"Lucinda, where are you going? Don't intervene. It's between a husband and a wife," he said, his voice trailing after me.

"Husband and wife? So, I'm supposed to stand here and watch him kill his wife?" I retorted as I approached them.

With a burst of speed, I reached out and grabbed the chair just in time.
