Chapter 5: Realisation
Ozan POV
It was her Oh my God it was exaclty her. How could i forget the face, the eyes and that voice that still gives me nightmares. Who am i kidding i immediately recognised her when i saw her sitting on that table from a distance. I still went to her and sat with her had coffee with her. Hell I'm taking her to coffee this morning again.
What is wrong with me, how can i do that to her.
I still remember the first time i saw her face. My father was forcing his lips on hers and doing things to her she didn't wanted to be done.
I remember standing on the door trying to get a peek at who was in the room with my father.
I remember her shouting on top of her lungs and she was hitting my father and clawing him to get away from her but my father didn't stop.
I stood there just for five minutes because i couldn't imagine my eyes as to what I'm seeing. My father was a nice man. He was a great father and an amazing husband to my Mum.
I thought he could never hurt a fly but there he was forcing himself into a girl without her permission.
After seeing that side of my father i ran to my bedroom, got under my sheets, put the music in my headphones so loudd to block any noice that was coming from my father's room and stayed there the whole day until my mum came home from work at 8PM and she entered my room.
She saw the terror in my eyes and she thought i was asleep and had a nightmare or something so she kept saying "it's okay baby it was just a nightmare" but she had no idea what i saw that day that made me sick to my stomach.
She hugged me tightly and then as soon as i felt her embrace i started crying that turned into sobbing and we stayed like that for what i can remember a good 10 minutes.
When i finally stopped crying my mother looked at me with so much love in her eyes that for once i thought i dreamt everything that happened today.
To make sure that I wasn't dreaming i went to my father's room, he was asleep facedown. He wasn't wearing any shirt so i mobe closer to him in order to confirm if i was dreaming or not.
My eyes spread wide because his back was full of scratches, deep scratches. His skin was completely peeled from his body. And the realisation came over me that i wasn't dreaming it was all truth. The truth of my father.
That my father forced a teenage girl into his room and he satisfied his needs and gave that girl a wound that would never heal. This wound will stay with her every living moment, every breath she takes and every day she wakes up. Until the day she dies.
I was standing over my father and he turned in his sleep when i saw his face that's when it hit me ... i didn't do anything to stop him. How i didn't save that girl from the cruelty my father was showing her. How i could've just entered this room hours ago and would've saved that girl from this wound. Am i equally to blame for what happend today. I would've easily picked up my baseball bat and hit him on his head to stop him instead i hid in my room for the whole day.
I fell to my knees after this realisation and my heart broke into millions of pieces if that's even possible and my sould shattered right on that floor when i saw a lock of hair under the bed.
I took a seat at the very corner table of the cafe and when i saw her walking towards me with the most beautiful smile on her face .. i was worng that day, this is the moment my soul shattered.
She noticed me staring at her so she gracefully divert her eyes from me to the ground and smiled and that momet was enough for me to stand up and leave her for good. But for some reason i stayed on my place without ever moving my gaze from her.
She finally looked up at me when she reach the table and took a seat across from me. Her knee slightly grazing mine and that micro second sends chills up and down my spine, my blood felt like it was on fire and my insides turned upside down.
She finally settled on her chair and now she's staring straight into my eyes.
"Hi" she says, her voice so excited.
"Hi" my voice barely a whisper.
Her smile suddenly disappears and she frowned trying to figure out why i look like i saw a ghost.
"You look like you just saw a ghost" i almost gasp at her comment it felt like she read my mind for a good second.
"No i just ... uh i guess i dozzed of for a second." I tried to explain clearing my throat.
She opened her mouth to say something but the waiter interrupts her..
"Can i take your order?"
She was now focused on the waiter and just for a bit when he glanced at me and i gave him the deadliest stare that he took a step back in fear.
"UHH i think I'll have cappuccino. What would you like?" She's now looking at me.
"I'll have the same" I tried to smile at her.
We make eye contact for what seems like ages.. her eyes are so beautiful and her smile, even her teeth are perfectly sitting inside her beautiful mouth. She waves a hand infront of me and that's when i realise my elbow was on the table holding my face and i was staring at her. I shake my head and look behind her.
"Like what you see huh?" She asks teasing me because i was staring at her like an idiot.
I open my mouth to say something less embarrassing but then the waiter interrupts us. He settle our coffees on the table and leaves.
"So how are you?" She is holding her coffee with both hands and moving her hand slowly on the rim of the cup. I'm staring at her hands now because this is the most gorgeous pair of hands I've ever seen in my entire life. That's when i notice a scar on her right palm. I unintentionally held her hand and rub my thumb or her scar. "How did you got this" i felt her stiffen beneath my touch and she pulls her hand back resting them under the table.
"Just a scar from childhood."
I felt an instant rush of feelings it was too much i thought i was drowning my body lifeless, drifting in the ocean.
She also noticed the change in my posture because she turns in her seat.
Everthing came infront of my eyes from that freakin day and i couldn't take it, i felt the tears stinging my eyes, i was about to cry infront of her. I could feel the tears building in my eyes so i reach in my pocket, throw the money on the table and practically ran away from her as far as possible maybe to a different country or maybe a different planet.
