Chapter 173
Chapter 173
Ximeana
Pain that only lasted for seconds before my body healed itself. “Are you done, Uncle?” I asked, with a smirk on my face as I stood up on my feet.
I would give anything as a sacrifice to see the look on his face right now, I thought. I moved closer to him, but he quickly took steps backward, forcing a lump down his throat.
“You don’t have to do this, Ximena… it's me… your uncle…” he stuttered, but I just ignored his words, my eyes lighting in their colors. “I carried you at birth, princess; you were always my favorite niece,” he added with a trembling voice.
I let out a light scoff as I stared at him. “You had no other niece or nephew, Uncle. I am the only child of my father, the same man you murdered in cold blood because of greed and power.”
“Listen, Ximena…” he began, pausing for a while. “You have to understand that I only did that because your dad was being so difficult with giving me my inheritance,” he said.
“Yeah, right…. Same inheritance that you already squandered when your father and my grandfather shared equally. You were the one who said you didn't want to rule the pack...” I spat at him.
“Come on now, my child…” he tried to speak.
“ENOUGH!!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. “Enough with all this lies, Uncle. Mom clearly told me that you had eyes for her and wanted her all to yourself, but she turned you down and went with my father. So all this massacre and chaos you and my aunt Aruka created was because of jealousy and greed,” I shot back at him.
“You know, with you, Ruby, and Aruka, I noticed that no one can really tell how far jealousy can take them and blind them until they become monsters. But in all of this, I'm only sorry for how far it took my best friend,” I retorted, and with that, I blasted him with my powers, which sent him flying, hitting his back on the hard concrete in the hall, scattering chairs in the air.
“Derek!!” Dani's voice echoed in my ears as she ran in tears to where her mate was lying lifeless on the ground. I turned my gaze in her direction as we both locked eyes. “You're gonna pay for this…” she yelled at me, but before she could finish her sentence, I immediately shut her up with my power as I turned my gaze to my uncle, who was busy trying to stagger his way up.
“Allow me to take it from here,” Talia said, and within a matter of minutes, she sprouted out as she lunged at him, beating him to a stupor, making him lay weak on the ground. I transformed back into my normal form as I stared at him.
“Any last words?” I spat at him with venom in my voice.
“Ximena!!” a loud voice echoed in my ears, stopping me from giving my final strike. I turned my gaze in its direction as I locked eyes with his Luna, Beta, someone I hadn't set my eyes on since I was five. “Ximena, please, don't…. Don't do this to me; I beg of you,” she said, falling to her knees with pleading eyes.
“Luna Sonia?” I called out with creased brows.
“So… Sonia…” Vincenzo called out, stretching his hands to her with a bloody face.
“Vincy…” she retorted with a trembling voice as she rushed to his side, her eyes filled with tears as she clutched her hands tightly to him. “Baby…” she added softly, making Vincenzo let out a light smile.
“Get out of the way, Sonia...” I snarled at her, my voice firm and strong.
She moved her gaze in my direction as she quickly lay on the floor, her hands clutched to my leg, but I quickly yanked them off as I stared down at her.
“Ximena, I beg of you, please don't do this to me,” she pleaded.
For a moment, time stood still as I stared at her with a tight jaw. “Can I ask you something, Mira?” I asked through gritted teeth, my blood boiling with rage. She lifted her gaze upward, wiping off her tears as she stared at me.
“I believe my uncle was already mates with you before the death of my father… So can I ask, where were you when he attacked my pack? Where were you when he connived with these same fools in this room to kill my parents? Where were you all those times, huh?” I fired at her, but she just sat there without a word, letting out stifled sobs.
“Why didn't you plead with him then? Why didn't you tell him not to kill my father right in front of his daughter? Why didn’t you plead with him then not to let his greed and jealousy rule him? But no… you were in on it too, all of it… and now you come here feigning those crocodile tears asking for mercy,” I shot at her.
She took in a deep breath before she spoke. “Listen, my child…” she tried to speak.
“Don't you dare call me that!!” I spat sternly at her. “I'm Ximena to you,” I added.
“Okay.. Ximena, please, you have to forgive us for our actions in the past. At first, I never wanted to be caught up in all of this, but he's my mate; what would you have me do?” she asked with glassy eyes.
“And the man he murdered was my father, so now how about you answer your question: what would you have me do? You never were in support of it, but you enjoyed every fruit it brought: the crown as Luna, my people as slaves ready at your beck and call, didn't you?” I asked.
“I'm pregnant!” she blurted out, her voice matter-of-fact as she stared at me.
Time paused. I froze. The fury in me subsided the minute she said those words. “What?” Vincenzo muttered softly, jolting me out of my reverie. She turned to him as she nodded lightly. “It's true, Vincy; I wanted to tell you when all of this was over,” she said with a shaky voice. “I'm finally pregnant; I'm pregnant with your baby, Vincenzo.” She added.
“Please, I beg of you, don't rob him of the chance of being a father, Ximena. We've been searching for this opportunity for a long time, and now that it's finally here, don't take him away from me,” she begged. “This is going to be your niece or nephew too, you know? Please don’t render him/her fatherless,” she added.
“Same thing your mate did to me without thinking twice? He made me an orphan, Sonia. He made me crave and long to be loved by my father just one last time. I never even got to say goodbye; never even got to know what it felt like to be raised by parents. I struggled through life on my own, went through every pain, every slash, every fight… and right now, forgiveness is one luxury I can’t afford,” I spat at her.
I walked past her, heading to Vincenzo, who at this point was already crawling, trying to save himself from me. I caught up with him, even with his mate trailing behind me in tears. I struck him once, stopping him in his tracks as he spat out blood, making her scream at the top of her lungs.
Just then, she tried to attack me from behind, but one of Carly's minions was quick to stop her, holding her down on the ground. “You’re here begging for forgiveness, and you still dared to hit me?” I spat at her, landing a resounding slap on my cheeks. “Don't make me regret having mercy on you in the first place because ideally, you ought to go down with that mate of yours,” I sneered.
“Ximena, please,” she muttered softly.
I let out a light laugh before staring at her. “You know I'm giving your unborn child the luxury of experiencing a mother’s love. Your mate never gave me that, remember? So you should be thankful,” I said, bringing out my claws as they lit up in their colors.
“And oh, when you eventually give birth, this auntie would like to be the first to see her niece or her nephew and tell them how cruel and wicked their father was,” I said, turning my gaze to him. “Uhm… I think this is the part where you say your final words, you know, because I'm about to take from you what’s truly mine,” I snarled, and with that, I dug my claws directly into his chest, the exact same spot where he pierced my father as memories of that night and his final scream came playing before my eyes, making tears stream down my cheeks as I increased the force of my claws while his mate's scream filled the room.
“No!!!!!!” she yelled in tears.
“Rest in pieces, Uncle!!” those were my final words.
