Chapter 172

Chapter 172
Ximena

“And who the hell do you think you are?” Dani fired at me.

I turned my gaze slowly in her direction with fury in my eyes. “I believe your ears are still working, princess!” I shot back at her.

“How dare you speak to an alpha like that, huh?!” she snarled.

“And what do you think I am, huh?” I spat almost immediately. “The same omega you wrestled with? You must really be kidding me,” I retorted sternly.

“Oh great Luna, we're so sorry, we really don't want to do this… it was all Alpha Vincenzo’s idea.” A tiny voice erupted from the crowd as one of the Lunas to the alphas spoke with a trembling voice.

“Please… spare us…. Let us go back to our pack and families; we promise never to double cross the Dark Moon pack ever again,” another added.

“That's enough!” I growled. “You all had your chances to decide, to choose the right path… but unfortunately, we are all doomed alongside your mates, and right now I announce to you all that the merciful Ximena is gone; she died the minute I saw the terrible things you've done to my people, my mates’ people.” I fired at them, pausing for a while.

“You all are a shame to the crown of Luna, and right here, right now, I'm going to put an end to that shame…. Guards!!” I yelled at the top of my lungs, and in a matter of minutes, a good number of my army appeared behind me with sweaty faces and racing hearts.

I looked around; they'd already taken down quite a number of our opponents, but we were still outnumbered. However, at this point, I was confident we would win this war as the scent of their fear lingered in the air like a surge of strength from an energy potion. That's exactly what we need to see at the moment, their fear, I thought.

“Finish them all; make sure there's not a single one of them alive. Luna or not, King or not, so far as they are in this room… but… let me handle my uncle myself,” I ordered sternly as I locked eyes with him amongst the crowd with his army.

“Yes, my Queen,” they all chorused as they lunged forward with their attacks.

Just then, Dani lunged towards me in an attack, but in one strike, I caught her in the air, grabbing her by the neck as she kept gasping for air. “I was honestly willing to let you go scot-free, but you just don't give up, do you?” I sneered as my eyes lit up in their colors.

“How… how's this even possible? How could you be an alpha?” she said with a trembling voice, but I just increased my grip on her neck.

“Took you long enough to realize that, Dani…” I retorted.

“Derek…,” she muttered a name with her last breath.

“What did you say?” I asked with creased brows.

“I said, I'm going to fight you until my very last breath,” she shot at me.

“Oh… is that so? How about we make that last breath quicker then,” I said, increasing my grip on her neck with a tight jaw. She struggled in the air, snapping her legs back and forth in a tough battle for air.

But just as she was about to take her final breath, the very last piece to make her wish become reality, I felt a hard knock on my head, which sent me rolling as I released Dani from my hands.

The sound of ragged breathing and gasping for air filled my ears as I tried to get up. I looked at my attacker and found a tall and well-built man next to her as he picked her up from the ground.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

“What took you so long?” Dani managed to speak after a few minutes.

“I'm sorry…” the guy apologized.

“So he was the one you were calling, huh? Your mate?” I asked, letting out a light scoff. “So the goddess still shone her mercy on your ugly face; how touching,” I said mockingly.

“You little!!” the guy sneered.

“You'll watch your tone when you speak to this Luna, you man!” I fired at him.

“How dare you try to kill my mate?” he said as he lunged forward in my direction, but before I could give him a reply, he pushed and attacked me, making us land together on the ground.

In a matter of seconds, he lifted his hands upwards, about to connect his fist to my jaw when someone attacked him from the side, pushing him off me.

“Don't you even think of completing what you are about to do, scumbag!!” Carmine fired at him, connecting his fist to his face. “That's my mate!” he spat at him as they both broke into a heated fight.

Just then, Dani lunged at me again, this time calculated, as she brought out her fangs, trying to bury them into my skin. My skin lit up in its colors, giving her a huge dose with a blast of wind, which sent her flying, hitting some other soldiers with whom Rogan was busy, making him stop to look in my direction.

“Thanks, Ximena,” he yelled from the other end of the room.

“You're welcome,” I replied with a smile as I stood up from the ground.

I looked around at the chaos in the room. Just then, my eyes locked with my uncle, who had already taken his wolf form, growling at me. I shifted my gaze from him, locking eyes with one of the Lunas approaching Carly with a dagger in her hands. I took another look at my uncle, who had already begun to lunge forward in my direction, but then again, there was Carly, who was in danger.

“Carly, look out!!” I screamed loudly, rushing towards her, but before I could go save her, my uncle’s fist connected with mine, which sent me flying.

“Ouch,” I groaned in pain as I tried to get up, dusting my eyes. I was still busy with this when my uncle lunged at me again. “You stupid niece, just die!!” he sneered in anger as he slammed me again to the ground.

But in all of this, I wasn't even worried about myself as I was for Carly. I looked in her direction, but to my surprise, she’d handled the situation perfectly, as she cloned herself into several multiples, together with Rogan fighting beside her. It was such a beautiful sight to behold, as right now each Luna she handled had a ‘Carly’ to themselves, all swinging in different moves.

“Don't worry about us, Ximena; we're having fun!!” Rogan yelled as he swayed himself along with one of the multiples, placing a kiss on her lips. “She tastes the same any time of dayyyy….” he said in excitement as he struck one of the Lunas.

I shook my head lightly, turning to my uncle, whose fist connected with my face the minute we locked eyes. “Ximena!!” Carmine yelled from where he was, giving a final snap to Rani's mate on his neck, which left him lifeless on the ground as his strength as an alpha transferred into Carmine’s body.

“Don't worry about me, Carmine; I've got this one.” I shot back at him, knowing my father's strength is somewhere inside of my uncle, and only when I kill him myself would I be able to get hold of it, I thought.

“Are you sure..?” Before he could finish his words, another blow landed on my stomach.

“You really think you’re a match for me, little girl?” Vincenzo spat at me. “Funny how life has made us equals!” He said through gritted teeth, connecting his legs with my face.

“Ximena…” Carmine called out using his mind link abilities.

“Don't come close, Carmine, please, go help the others; save your people,” I replied.

“I can't leave you,” he said, watching as he tried taking a step, but I quickly used my powers to trap his feet on the ground. “I said, I'm fine, Carmine; just go!! Go save your people!” I spat at him.

He was hesitant for a while, but after a few minutes, he left together with Beta Steven as they went after his pack.

“Where the hell is the scroll!!” Vincenzo's voice echoed in my ears.

I let out a light chuckle, turning my gaze to him. “Really, Uncle? Is that all you've got?” I asked with a grin on my face.

“Shut the F up!” he growled in anger, sprouting his claws out as he dug them into my abdomen, making me yelp in pain.
