Chapter 60 Chapter 60

Chapter 60 Chapter 60
Kyla’s POV

“No, you don’t,” she replied as she pulled her hand out of my reach. I watched her step away from me. “Are you sure you are okay, Kyla?” she asked me.

I pinched my eyes shut, trying to recalled where I saw those eyes and that mole at the back of her hand. It was too familiar to go unnoticed. “I’m sure, I’ve seen you before, Aunt Pamela.”

She sighed. “Kyla, look at me,” she said, placing her hand on my shoulder. I blinked at her. Her eyes were still familiar, making me think harder, my head almost ached.

“Are you feeling dizzy?” she asked, I shook my head. She sighed. “Do you need water?” I clicked my tongue and shook my head again.

“Why do you think I am not okay?” I asked her.

She smiled. “You need some medicine, I will get it for you after you finish eating okay.”

My shoulders dropped. Why wouldn’t she listen to me? I said I was fine, and I really thought she was familiar, still did.

With a short nod, I took the spoon she was handing me and I started to drink the soup. “It’s tasty, thanks.” I said.

She nodded at me, giving me that angelic smile again and I quickly looked away before I would act even weirder with her. I knew I had seen her somewhere before– it felt like a long time ago and I was going to find out where that was.

After the meal, I pushed the plate to her. “Thanks.” as she carried to the plate and turned to leave, I called after her. “Aunt Pamela, can I come do the dishes with you? I'm really tired of staying indoors all day.”

My plan was to know more about the pack house before I sneak out today, so I would get an easy out and in venture.

She stared at me for a while, her brows crossed in contemplation. “Hmm. I’m not sure Kendrick would like the idea.”

No, she can’t refuse me. I had to persuade her somehow. I furrowed my brows, frowning. “You were the one who said I wasn’t fine. Now you want me to keep staying here until I lose my mind entirely?”

She raised her brows in worry. “No, I’ll bring you the medicine, okay. You’ll be fine.”

Though her words were adamant, I could tell from her eyes that she was about giving in. “What about Kendrick,” I continued. “Would he be glad to know my condition worsened because you refused to let me come out of the room with you?”

She clicked her tongue and tilted her head to the side. “You sure know how to get to me.”

I smirked. “Don’t I?”

She rolled her eyes. “Come along then,” she said and turned. I jumped up from my bed and was about to dance in victory when she turned and I halted. “But, you have to stay very close to me, okay?”

I nodded. “Yes, boss.”

She chuckled and we walked out together, I picked the glass and jug and took it along with us.

The corridor had a few guards on the edge, it was dimlit and it had wood scenes paintings on the walls. As we neared the guards, he watched me closely but stepped away from the way when Pamela raised her hand.

We took a turn and then hit the stairways. The house was pretty large. We came down from the stairs and reached the sitting room, then we turned into the kitchen.

Two ladies were cleaning, when they saw Pamela and I enter, they stopped and bowed slightly. They look the same. “Greetings Aunt Pamela,” they chorused.

“Greetings, Mia and Myra. You can leave, I will take it up from here,” Pamela replied. They smiled and nodded, then they turned to me and stared at me.

I gulped and side stepped, almost hiding behind Pamela when their eyes seemed to bore into me. “I said you both could leave,” Pamela repeated in a more stricter way. They nodded and hurried off, dropping the brooms by the door.

Pamela went ahead to the sink. “You can sit down on that bench,” she said pointing to the bench by the door. I furrowed my brows.

“No, I won’t. I want to help out.” I insisted as I followed her to the sink and took the plate from her. “I will do the dishes.” She didn’t argue with me and I started to wash the plate.

“Do you want a snack?” She asked when we were done with the cleaning. “I could make you some chips.”

I smiled and wiped my hand with the small towel. “Thanks, but I just ate, so I am good.”

She nodded. “Tell me about yourself,” she said, pulling a chair for us to sit. I looked at the wall and saw that it was getting quite late. I still had to go meet Grandma Lily.

I smiled at her. “I am from the bloodmoon pack.” I replied to her.

She frowned slightly. “I had heard a little news about that pack– it wasn’t good, I’m sorry.”

I raised a brow. “What did you hear?”

“Hmm, what didn’t I hear? It’s brutality, partiality, corruption, slavery and most of all its ruthless leader– Alpha Kai.”

I gasped at the mention of his name. My mate– Alpha Kai.

My wolf roved inside me and I closed my eyes as I tried to control it, heat surging within me as she clawed on my insides. She had missed him, but he rejected me– I couldn’t wait to break it officially, that would have saved me all this trouble.

I swallowed and gave Pamela a strained smile. “I– I think I should get going, we will talk about this some other time.” I said, she had barely nodded before I lunged out of the kitchen.

I needed air. I would go out of the house and from there I would go meet Grandma Lily. As I reached the sitting room, I looked around and made sure there were no guards and then I walked outside hastily, my eyes looking from side to side.

“Ohh!” I exclaimed as I bumped onto a massive wall of flesh in front of me.
