Chapter 203 Big News

Calhoun's POV
Two weeks later.
"I think I want to marry her," Bruce blurts out one morning right while we're resting from our morning run.
"Who?" I ask in shock, upon wanting to be sure if I heard him right.
"Who else if not Sapphire? She's carrying my child," Bruce has a small smile on his face as he lets this out.
After a moment of letting his word sink in, I sit upright in a rush.
"Are you serious about this? You're truly the father of the child?" I blink unsteadily, because I wasn't expecting to hear this so soon from him.
"Yes," My beta nods and puts his hand on his chin, " Sapphire can be many things but not a liar, we've been spending some quality time and getting to know ourselves better, aside the sex of course. I love her, I think I've always had an attraction for her and choose to ignore it because I was,"
"Woah, this is huge," I exclaim.
"I never thought I'd want to settle down with anyone, but now that I've found her, I never want to let her go, all thanks to that shit-bag at the club who wanted to force himself on her," Bruce seems to be drifting into his own fantasy world with my wife's best
friends.
"I thought I'd never get to say this to you one day, but I'm proud of you, Bruce. Now you are set to be a full-fledged man.
"I can't believe I'm going to be a father, Calhoun. It puts me on frenzy mode all the time," My beta is already head over heels in love.
"And Sapphire, have you told here you want to marry her?" inquire after a short pause because on a second thought, Sapphire doesn't seem like someone who would want to settle down.
"I did when I was inside of her two days ago," Bruce tells me.
Wait a minute, they still have sex?
"How did she react?" I ask.
"She was in tears," my beta is full of smiles at this.
Clueless on what else to say, I just no. And the next thing he says, leaves me stunned.
"I need to move out, Calhoun," Bruce has a thoughtful look on his face as he rests his hand on his chin.
"You do?" I can feel my eyes welling up in their sockets.
"Yeah, I want to be a man of my own. Buy a house so
when we're moving in right on the day of our
marriage, although I'll always come around to carry out my duties," Bruce explains, looking utterly serious.
"That's such a great idea, Bruce." I give his shoulder a little pat.
"Yeah, we're going to start our little family like you and Kristen." Bruce adds with a sheepish grin.
"Your grandmother is here to see you, Alpha
Calhoun," a guard approaches me in my study and
makes this known to me.
"Tell her to go away," I reply gruffly upon not
wanting to see or speak with Nana Joyce.
What does she even want here, after trying to cause
more chaos in my life and family?
However, the guard doesn't go away. He remains in
his standing position as if he has more to say.
"She said she has something important to tell you," he blurts out.
And Kristen exchanges a glance with me.
"Whatever it is, she can always pass the message through you, or better still, send me a text," I let this
out after staying silent for some time.
"She won't go away, Alpha Calhoun," the guard says
again and then stares at his feet.
"Then ignore her and carry on with your job," I snap
and clench my jaw.
"Don't you think you should go hear her out?"
Kristen speaks up, her eyes never leaving mine.
"No, she's an enemy to our family, its better we avoid
her," never in my life did it cross my mind that I would refer to my grandmother as my enemy. It's
insane.
"Don't be too hard on her, Calhoun, it won't change the fact that she's your grandmother," Kristen says calmly, as if she isn't reflecting on what happened two weeks ago.
"I thought you were on my side? She released Natalie from prison to cause us more harm," I point out with a slight frown after dismissing the guard.
"I never said she did the right thing, I mean, I know
she hates me, but don't let this come between you two when it's just you she has and she's aging," Kristen's voice softens at this, making me wonder if she has ever nursed any hard feelings towards my grandmother before.
"Well, she should have thought of this before going
ahead to free our enemy in our absence," I grit out. "So you're not going out there to meet her," Kristen
stares at me with curiosity basking her emerald eyes.
"No," I shake my head, already upset from the question, although its harmless.
"You won't let her in, either?" Kristen throws her
arms across her chest and casts me a serious look.
"No," I tick my jaw.
"That's harsh," Kristen gives me a little frown.
"She needs some time to contemplate her sin, and then I'll decide whether ill forgive her or not." I say after a slice of silence, because I'm aware I have every right to be mad at her, after what she's done. "Fine, if you think it's right," Kristen voices out as if wanting no room for argument.
Upon face palming, I sigh because I never wished to have a strained relationship with my grandmother, I mean she raised me and made me the man I am today, but releasing Natalie from prison and trying to talk me into marrying her and letting go of Kristen was way over the line. This same person tried to murder Kristen and our unborn child right after killing Stewart, Kristen's father.
