Chapter 202 No Room For More Drama
Chapter 202 No Room For More Drama
Let Me Go, Alpha Calhoun 202:
Kristen's POV
"Your mom is back," Cynthia tells me right after putting Aiden in his crib.
"What did you say?" I blink, confused.
"Aiden's grandmother released your own mother while you and Alpha Calhoun were away, she said she's going to make them reunite so they can get married because your mother is the rightful wife of Alpha Calhoun and not you," the girl informs me.
I pause for a moment to digest Cynthia's words because I don't want to think I misheard her or something.
And at last, the realization dawns on me, making a shudder run through me for a second.
"Nana Joyce released my mother from the dungeon?" My voice is louder than I thought it would be.
And Cynthia hesitates, fearing I'll go mad.
"Yes, my Luna. She's planning to bring them together again, and throw you out," she replies at last ad
hurriedly looks away from me.
Instead of getting scared or sad, I end up finding everything amusing, and a low chuckle leaves my
mouth.
Cynthia stares at me with wide eyes, clueless on why I am this way.
Nana Joyce whom I thought cared for me in her own way, has suddenly turned into my enemy. Or maybe she's been my enemy this whole time and I was too blind to notice.
She released a murderer, the woman who killed my own father, just because she wants to separate me from Calhoun, and maybe cause Aiden's sudden demise because there's no possible way my mother will see Aiden, Calhoun and I's son, and not want to hurt him. Plus my unborn child.
It's been one drama after the other, except now, I'll have to take matters into my hands and put an end to it all. I wouldn't mind being enemies with Nana Joyce for life.
"My Luna?" Cynthia's voice rings out, pulling me from my thoughts.
"When did this happen?" I inquire.
"Immediately you and Alpha Calhoun left. Nana Joyce had a heated argument with Beta Bruce, because he was against the whole idea, but she still went ahead to do it anyway. Claiming she's Alpha Calhoun's grandmother and she knows what's best for him," the girl provides before clamping her hand on her mouth like she's revealed too much.
A bitter scoff rolls from my mouth at this, because everything happening is too good to be true.
Nana Joyce of all people.
Who would have thought she would turn out to be this way? We didn't get a along from the star, and I
wanted to get on her good side because she's Calhoun's grandmother. The times she acted like she cared was all pretense? Too bad. I am highly disappointed in her because she's too old for this.
No wonder Bruce didn't even hesitate with the news.
Except he didn't say it was my mother.
And Calhoun, he must have seen mom right now and I know he's going to let hell lose.
At the time I go to find Calhoun in the second hall, I see the whole place in a mayhem, with Calhoun screaming at his grandmother, who in turn is trying to protect my own weeping mother from getting captured the guards.
"What the fuck is going on!?" I yell at the top of my lungs, and everything goes to a halt.
"Kristen..." Calhoun who was like a beast earlier on immediately goes soft upon seeing me standing at the door.
"I know everything," I make sure I maintain my cool, ignoring the gaze on my mother who I am certain is
on me.
And there's silence again as all eyes settle on me.
"Kristen, let's get out of here. I don't want you to be in the same room with her, and I assure you, that she'll be taken back to her cell right at this hour," Calhoun is already approaching me as he says this.
"You'll do no such thing, Calhoun," Nana Joyce speaks up, glaring at her grandson as if they are enemies.
"Too bad I never saw you as an enemy, Nana Joyce," I smirk at Calhoun's grandmother.
"You're trying to ruin Calhoun's life," she shifts her glare from Calhoun to me.
"And you know that's not true, you just despise me for reasons best known to you," Smirking, I throw my arms across my chest.
"Kristen..." Calhoun calls my name quietly and I know he doesn't want me to stress myself by going back and forth with Nana Joyce, or even my mother. "No, let me speak, Calhoun. So much has happened in
the past few days and now we're just getting out of it, your grandmother released a murderer?" I ensure this will sound as hurtful as much as possible to my
mother.
"Do not call me that, I am your mother after all and
you didn't know Stewart for a long time," the person in question confronts me, seemingly hurt as if she has the right to be.
"Still, he was a much better parent than you could
ever be, yet you killed him when he was trying to
rescue me from you, turning to Nana Joyce, I say, "To say I am disappointed I you is an understatement, I feel second hand embarrassment for your sake, because Calhoun is a man. You don't get to decide for him. He had the chance to be with Natalie, but he chose me over her a thousand times," I don't even address my mother by her title because she doesn't
deserve it.
"Calhoun and I were perfect together until you came in and ruined everything," Mom accuses. Scoffing, I shake my head at my mother, "You lost
Calhoun already, deal with it, Natalie." I address her by her name for the first time.
"Now, guards, do as I ordered, you can as well escort my grandmother out of here, she's already too tired from all the stress and she needs rest," Calhoun has
contempt in his eyes as he stares at both my mother and his grandmother.
"You will regret this, Calhoun," Nana Joyce snarls at
my husband.
"Not even at my worst," Calhoun shakes his head.
"And take her far away from here, don't put her leave her in this premises anymore," he directs this order to his guards.
"Yes, Alpha Calhoun," they respond.
And as my mother is being bundled and taken away, she keeps glaring murderously at me, while I maintain a straight face. It's been long since I felt
remorseful towards her, right at the moment she killed my father.
Surprisingly, she doesn't even haul insults at me or
Calhoun, I'll take it that she's already accustomed to the dungeon.
While Nana Joyce on the other hand doesn't let the guards escort her out. With a huff, she leaves by herself.
"The hell! Who would ever think Nana Joyce would do
such a thing," I exclaim when it's remaining just me and Calhoun.
"She's being banned from stepping foot in here, I'll ask the guards not to let her in when next she comes," Calhoun declares. "She's your grandmother but this is the right thing to do, Calhoun, we need peace at all cost," I agree with
him.
