Last Female Sypher and Her Brother's Friends

“We are gathered here to pay tribute to Lorain Vale, beloved mother…” Five years since I left and swore I’d never come back. I kept that promise until today. My mother died in a home invasion robbery. My older brother stands tall and rigid at my side, dressed in black, jaw clenched so tight I can hear his teeth grind. He left long before I did. Left Mom and me behind like we were inconvenient baggage. I hate him, but I hate his four best friends even more: Theo, Barric, Ronan, and Kade. ****Aria's brother has always kept the world of wolves a secret from her, and driven her out of Blackridge. This is one of the reasons she hates her brother's friends; she believes they have changed him. Aria is considered human, yet she is the last female Sypher—a bloodline believed to be extinct.
