Chapter 842: She Loves Him
Dudley had little expression, a white shirt on him now, the buttons of his shirt sleeves not unbuttoned but wrapped scrupulously cleanly around his wrists, the man who had always worn a white coat suited white well, which made him the best looking man in a white shirt, bar none.
"I see, how is Silvia?"
"Back to my lord, Miss. Silvia has gone to bed since she returned to her room, her appetite is not good, the cook has become fancy in making meals, but Miss. Silvia cannot eat."
It was then that Dudley's indifferent handsome face wavered, he lowered his handsome eyelids to look at the calendar, tomorrow's date had been circled in red, as it was Silvia's birthday tomorrow.
...
Silvia took a nap and woke up in the afternoon, she cleaned up then went out when the maid came over, "Miss. Silvia, sir wants you to come over for a moment, something is for you."
Dudley wanted to see her?
Silvia nodded, "Yes."
The maid took Silvia to a room and Silvia pushed the door in, the room was dark and there was no light on.
There were two "pops", ribbons exploded and Dudley came out of the darkness with a cake in his hand, candles now waving on it as he sang - happy-birthday-to-you, happy-birthday-to-you. happy-birthday-to-you...
Silvia shuddered as she remembered that it was her birthday.
It was her 24th birthday.
Dudley walked over, his obsidian black eyes looking at Silvia in the wavering candlelight, full of light, he laughed softly, "Silvia, happy birthday to you, you're another year older."
Silvia curled her red lips, "Dudley, thank you."
"Silvia, make a wish, I've heard that birthday wishes come true."
Really?
Silvia folded her hands and gently closed her eyes, her birthday wish for her 24th was... she would love to see Mr Aldred once and Mr Aldred could appear in front of her eyes.
But that birthday wish was not going to come true.
Forget it.
Silvia opened her eyes, then blew out the candles.
The lights in the room came on and it was then that Silvia saw two burns on the back of Dudley's hand and she quickly said, "Dudley, why is your hand hurt?"
Dudley's hands were white and slender, quite beautiful, born to hold a scalpel and not having touched wood and salt since she was a child, so the two burns were quite conspicuous.
On one side Amos watched the scene and was thinking to himself - Miss. Silvia, the master started making a cake for you early this morning, this birthday cake was made by his own hands.
Dudley hadn't made a cake before, this was the first time, even with the cook's guidance he looked frazzled, what he had in his hands now was the best formed.
Dudley hooked her lips, "It's nothing, it's just an accidental burn."
He didn't tell her.
Silvia wrinkled her brow, "You have a scalpel in this hand, it's very precious, be careful next time, come here, I'll bandage it for you."
"You have a bite of cake first."
Silvia picked a bit with her finger and put it in her mouth, "Mmm, it's delicious."
Dudley smiled.
...
After treating Dudley's hand, Silvia went back to her room, she picked up her phone, her slim white fingers pressing on the keypad as she flipped out the familiar string of bone-chilling phone numbers.
Mr Aldred...
Feathering a slight shiver, she dialed the number.
But soon she hung up.
The call hadn't gone out, she couldn't dial it.
But she would soon be leaving, going back to the ancient land of Loulan.
Now she wanted to hear his voice so badly.
She missed him so much.
Her white eyes slowly turned red and before the tears were about to fall, Silvia lifted them quickly and she began to breathe deeply, telling herself over and over again that it was all right, that you could be stronger and not cry.
Steadying her emotions, Silvia exited the door of her room, she wanted to get some air...
...
Dudley went upstairs, when he saw that the door to Silvia's room was open.
It was now nine o'clock in the evening.
He turned in a direction and walked into the open room, "Silvia."
There was no response.
The scuffed leather shoes made a steady sound on the handmade version of the carpet as he entered the bathing room.
Dark eyes lingered as he slowly looked at the phone sitting on the side of the vanity, it was still lit and showed an unreturned call, Mr Aldred...
Dudley's gaze paused for a couple of seconds on this 'Mr Aldred', in fact, he knew what her birthday wish was even if she hadn't said it.
Dudley's handsome face didn't change as he took his phone out of his trouser pocket and dialed a number.
"Hello, Miss Codling..."
Hanging up the phone, Dudley turned and left the room.
Going downstairs, he pushed open the back door of the cottage, and on the lawn he saw a slender figure.
Silvia was there.
She was sitting alone on a wicker swing, a white coat draped over a long pink dress, late at night.
Dudley walked over to her and draped the black cloak he held over Silvia's lustrous shoulders. His long fingers flipped gracefully and tied the front sash for her.
Silvia looked back and smiled lightly, "Dudley, why are you still awake?"
Dudley came over to her and sat down on the swing beside her.
He had a book in his hand, "Still up, reading."
"Such a good boy." Silvia smiled softly.
Dudley folded his long legs gracefully, his long body leaning into the swing, the bright moonlight and dim light slanting over him at nine o'clock in the evening, setting off his exquisitely handsome face with a cool breeze.
With his black cloak off and a black turtleneck on him, his shiny leather shoes clicked onto the lawn and the swing swung into place.
Silvia looked up at the moonlight with her small head and suddenly lamented, "Dudley, when did you say it would snow?"
It was late autumn and the weather was already cold, but it was still very early for snow.
She suddenly wanted to see it snow.
Dudley looked at Silvia's little face, "You want to see snow?"

A man bumped into him and crashed all over.
Orson then felt soft hair graze his face with a ghostly cold girlish fragrance.
"Sorry, sorry..." the person in his arms took a few steps back in time, her small hands rubbing her reddened alabaster forehead as she lifted the small palm-sized face.
Orson got a good look at her, and Lynn's cool, stunning features broke hard into his line of sight.
It was her!
He thought she hadn't come, that she was just late.
Lynn's eyes were brimming and shatteringly bright, "Mr Aldred, didn't hurt you, did it?"
Orson knew, she had bumped into his arms on purpose.
In fact, he had known that day at church that she liked him.
