Chapter 36

I didn't even know which way to go at this point; I didn't know if I should go to Jackson’s hospital or Andrea’s. I wanted to see Andrea badly but I could not bring myself to face her. What was I going to tell her? Her friend Nancy is going to hate me forever, but I cannot hide this from her. I have to tell her about who was behind her poisoning; she deserves to know. My phone was ringing at this point; I wasn't even interested in taking any calls so I didn't bother to check who the caller was. The call was persistent so I reached out to my pocket and it was Ami. I had to take the call.

“Hey Ami, Are you home now?

I could hear her sobbing over the phone; she was just crying and unable to talk.

“Calm down, Ami; what is wrong? Where are you?

“They refused to grant him bail, Tyler; they said they would charge him in court. I'm so scared. It was a mistake, Tyler, but they are charging him with possession of illegal arms.

“What!! This is not good at all. Just wait right there; I'm coming to get you.

I took a U-turn and headed to the police station where Ami was. She came to give me a hug when she saw me and she broke in tears. I tried all I could to call her down but she was too emotional to stop crying. I stood there, holding Ami as she sobbed. I didn't know what to say. I knew that she was heartbroken and that nothing I could say would make her feel better. But I also knew that I couldn't just stand there and do nothing. So I started to speak, my voice soft and gentle.

"It's going to be okay. We're going to get through this; I'm here for you, no matter what.

She looked up at me, her eyes red and swollen.

"Thank you, Tyler.

“Get into the car; let's go home.

“You want me to leave Nathan here?

“There isn't much you can do; the police already told you that they cannot release him on bail. Even if you stay here till noon, they won't change anything about the situation. Come, let me take you home. You need rest. Your eyes are red and swollen. You might wake up with a very terrible headache if you do not rest your head now.

Ami entered the car and I drove off. The car was quiet for a while until she finally spoke.

“How is Jackson? What is the situation with him? I am so scared; I do not want anything bad to happen to him.

“He was still in the operating room when I left the hospital. I was so pissed at all at what was happening that I had to confront my mom because she is the one enabling that Amber girl.

“You told your parents about the situation?

“I left their place a few minutes ago; you won't believe that my mom is asking me to be quiet about the whole situation; she wants me to do away with the evidence we have on Amber; she said it will rub off on us negatively; you won't believe that my mom still insists that I marry that girl.

“This is not good. Tyler, how are you going to deal with Andrea? How will you face her and tell her this? Because you have to tell her; you cannot hide this information from her; she needs to know who did this to her.

“I will tell her, Ami but I am so scared. I know she will hate me forever; she will think that I am a weakling and a mummy’s boy.

“We have to come up with a solution fast before the next time you go see her.

“Let us just get through this night first; later today, I will decide what to do.

I got to Ami’s house. I wanted to make sure that she was okay before i left so I followed her inside. She took a shower, and I made sure she was sleeping before I left her room. I wanted to drive home, but I was tired and exhausted. I needed the rest. I only wanted to relax on the couch and leave after a few minutes, but I closed my house and began my journey to Dreamland. The last thing I remembered was my phone falling on my face twice before I finally put it down and slept off. I laid down on the couch in Ami’s living room and as I closed my eyes, I drifted off into a deep sleep. I found myself in a dream where everything was peaceful and calm. I was surprised to find that I was no longer exhausted, and I felt a sense of relief. I saw my Jackson in the distance, and he was smiling and happy. I felt a sense of peace and comfort, and I knew that everything was going to be okay. I woke up suddenly, and I was back in my sister's living room. I sat up and looked around, feeling a bit disoriented.

I got up from the couch and stretched, feeling refreshed and ready to face the day. I walked to the window and looked outside, seeing the morning light just beginning to filter through the trees. I took a deep breath and smiled, knowing that today was going to be a new day and that I was ready to start fresh. I felt a renewed sense of hope and optimism, and I was determined to make the most of the day.

I went to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee, and as I sipped it, I thought about my dream. I wondered what it meant and if it was a sign of things to come. I decided that whatever it meant, it was a good omen. I sipped from my coffee as I looked outside the window. I had faith that it was going to be a good day.
