The drive to Montgomery Hospital seemed longer than expected, even though Gregor was pushing the car to its limit.

Inside the car, an eerie silence hung in the air, and Gregor couldn't help but sense that something was amiss after James made that call.

It was after James requested to be taken to Montgomery Hospital as soon as possible that Gregor began to piece together what might be happening.

Montgomery Hospital? That was a place for common folks, not someone of James's stature. This sudden decision left Gregor puzzled, and he wondered if someone very close to James over the past three years was in dire need of medical care.

Gregor couldn't help but recollect the last time he had set foot in Montgomery Hospital as a young boy. The memories were still etched deeply in his mind.

The hospital was a place that lacked the grandeur and luxury of those meant for the elite. It stood as a place for peasants with its simple worn out building and basic facilities. The staff, though caring, worked with limited resources.

It was in Montgomery Hospital that Gregor's world had been turned upside down when he visited his ailing mother. Sadly, he had lost her to an illness because of the absence of rightful equipment for her treatment.

The death of his mom left him and his younger sister in a dire situation. Life became incredibly tough without her, as they struggled to make ends meet.

By a stroke of luck, Mr. Alfredo Wane, James's grandfather, had come across the young Gregor and his sister while they were at their most vulnerable in the streets of Emerald Falls. He had rescued them from their hardships, taking them under his wing and providing them with the support and protection they needed.

Ever since that life-changing encounter, Gregor had vowed to dedicate his life to serving the Wane family, a debt of gratitude that he held close to his heart.

When he learnt that James had eloped, he felt bad for James as James doesn't know the hardship he was going to face

Over those three years, Gregor had often wondered about the hardships James must have faced living as an ordinary man.

He pondered the friends James had made, the house he resided in, and most of all, the meager food he consumed.

It was hard for Gregor to fathom why his Young Master chose to live such a life, especially after he graduated from the University and was set to inherit the Wane's dynasty.

Moments later, the car came to a halt at Montgomery Hospital. Without wasting a second, James hastily exited the vehicle and sprinted into the hospital, his heart pounding with worry.

Gregor, concerned and confused, followed closely behind, urging his young master to slow down. He caught up to James, and with a voice filled with anxiety he said. "Young Master, what's going on? Please, try to remain composed."

Inside the hospital, James approached a nurse, his voice trembling as he spoke. "I'm looking for someone who brought his daughter here for treatment."

The nurse offered a sympathetic response, "Of course, sir. Please follow me. I'm sorry for the loss."

She led James to a ward, and the sight that met his eyes was heart-wrenching.

Inside the room, Eric and his wife Mary stood over their lifeless daughter crying profusely.

The doctors had just delivered the devastating news of her passing.

James stood in the doorway, his heart was heavy with sorrow. The tragic scene before him left him speechless, the weight of the loss of a young girl seeping into his soul.

He never knew about Eric's family and he wished he had known the girl before her passing.

With a heavy heart and Gregor following closely, James approached Eric and Mary. He placed a comforting hand on Eric's shoulder, and with a soft, soothing voice, he tried to console them.

"I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain you're going through."

Eric and Mary turned to look at James. Their grief was palpable as they tried to find words to express their anguish.

Their eyes filled with tears.

"Thank you for being here," Eric managed to say, his voice trembling. "We never expected this... it all happened so suddenly. She's been battling cancer for a long time now."

James nodded, his own eyes reflecting the sorrow he felt. "We'll all get through this together. She's in a better place now."

Gregor, silently standing by his eyes fixated on the lifeless body of the girl, also consoled the couples.

He just wished that the girl was taken to somewhere else instead of Montgomery.

'She would have still been alive.'

A nurse came in and was about covering up the lifeless body of Eric's daughter. When Gregor said he noticed something.

"Wait! I just noticed something." He yelled at the nurse.

The nurse's patience was growing thin and her empathy wearing out from the long hours, retorted, "What are you talking about now? We don't have time for this."

Ever since his Mom's passing he doesn't trust hospitals that are of average rating just like this one. Because, according to the doctors, what killed his mom was the lack of inadequate resources and equipment for her treatment.

"Are you sure she's dead? Because I think I just saw her move a finger." He said.

The nurse was becoming skeptical and frustrated, she muttered, "What do you mean you just saw her move a finger? Do you see ghosts now, Mr.?" She mocked.

Eric, who had been weeping uncontrollably, suddenly looked up with a mixture of disbelief and desperate yearning. "What? Are you sure?"

Mary turned to Gregor with a spark of hope in her eyes, her face stained with tears, "Could it be possible?"

Even James was doubtful at this point.

"Gregor, what are you saying?"

"The girl is dead and that's a fact. Stop being delusional. You're not a doctor." Another nurse who was present added

Gregor was becoming angered now by the incessant insult from the nurse but he managed to compose himself. Yes, he's not a medical practitioner but his eyes aren't playing tricks on him either.

Approaching the lifeless girl, Gregor gently placed his hand near her nose, searching for any sign of breath. The nurse's dismissive words still lingered in the air, adding to his frustration.

"What now? Are you satisfied? Please leave here. It's not your job to be here." The nurse yelled at him, irritation evident in her voice.

Gregor was adamant, he then placed his fingers on the girl's pulse point, silently praying for a miracle. And then, as if the universe had listened, he detected a faint heartbeat beneath his touch. "She's alive!" He echoed. "She's alive."

The nurse checked the girl's pulse herself. She could feel the feeble, yet unmistakable heart beat of the girl. Her embarrassment grew as the realization washed over her.

The other nurse quickly checked the girl's pulse again and noticed that the girl's heartbeat was becoming louder. "Get the doctor!" She yelled at her fellow nurse.

"Get which doctor?" Gregor asked. "Do you guys want to kill her completely?"

Eric and his wife were too overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events to articulate their thoughts. They rushed towards the girl and began to check for themselves if she was truly alive.

James was concerned for the girl's well-being, and didn't waste a moment. "Get the ambulance. We're taking her to Sky Care," he instructed.
