All the men in the Carl's family gathered around James, ready to show him a lesson he would never forget in his entire existence, even in his next life.
But unknown to them, James had managed to signal the head of the ESU agents who was outside the gate with his companions. Quickly, they made their way into the main compound where everyone was.
"Stop!"
A commanding voice suddenly interrupted the whole members of the Carl family who had now hooked James by the collar.
Everyone turned to see what was happening, and they were surprised and at the same time shocked to their bone marrow!
The violence came to a halt as they all realized who the unexpected visitors were.
ESU Agents? Their sudden appearance at this moment only means that there is going to be more trouble! Could it be that Mr Sterling had sent them to get the whole family arrested?
The few remaining guests couldn't believe their eyes. It was evident that the Carl family had gotten themselves into a heap of trouble for crossing paths with the Sterlings.
The men who had surrounded James had no choice but to pause and consider the implications of this unexpected interruption.
The leader of the ESU agent turned to address Pa Aaron and the rest of the family.
"What is happening here?" he inquired.
Pa Aaron spoke up, eager to present their side of the story. "Officer, this good-for-nothing used-to-be son-in-law of mine came to cause trouble to our family," he lied.
Pa Aaron's remark prompted the rest of the family to join in. One by one, they began to accuse James of being a troublemaker and they even claimed that he was responsible for the broken chairs and chaos in their home.
"This man is a menace! He even broke the chairs!" Henry exclaimed, pointing at the scattered pieces of furniture on the ground.
"Officer, we asked him to leave, but he refused," Kate said. "We were about to call the police ourselves before you arrived. Thank goodness you arrived just in time."
The leader of the ESU agent maintained his calm composure. However, he noticed the inconsistency in their story.
"It doesn't seem to me like you were calling the cops," he said to them.
The Carl family, now in a tight spot, didn't have a convincing response. The sudden presence of the ESU agents had indeed taken them by surprise and ruined their bad intentions towards James.
In order to make the lie more convincing the members of the Carl family continued their accusations against James.
"He's been nothing but trouble since he came back! We need to have him arrested," Lisa said.
"Officer, you won't believe he only came back to disrupt our celebration," Mark muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Just look at the mess he's made. He should pay for it!" Richard insisted, also gesturing towards the damaged decorations.
"I've had enough of his antics." The ESU agent barked.
"Officers believe us, he's trying to ruin everything for us," Sophie said.
"If you hadn't shown up, officer, who knows what kind of chaos he'd have caused," Kate remarked.
"I don't know what's gotten into him, but he's definitely up to no good," Ma Pat concluded, as she folded her arms in annoyance.
"Officer, please arrest him right away."
"Yes please, take him into custody."
"Detain him for causing trouble and for home violence."
"Ensure he's apprehended."
The leader of the ESU agents calmly looked at their faces before he finally spoke.
"We will definitely arrest someone tonight!"
The Carl family sighed with relief when they heard what he said, but their relief was short-lived as the ESU agent continued, "However, not this innocent man," he stated, pointing at James.
Immediately he gave a signal and the other officers who had been waiting outside with Alisha entered the room. The sight of Alisha, crying and in distress, sent shockwaves through every member of the Carl family. They couldn't believe their eyes.
Since this morning, she had been in detention with Jaxon, Mr. Sterling had joined them too, making a passionate plea for his son's release. However, Mr. Sterling insisted that they keep Alisha in custody instead.
James, who ordered the arrest, had a surprise in store. He had noticed the ongoing argument about Alisha's release and, to the astonishment of the others, he ordered that Alisha be released towards the evening. He promised to take her to her family.
Alisha couldn't comprehend why James had made this sudden decision to help her. After all she had done to him.
As soon as Alisha was released from the grasp of the ESU agent, her family and relatives rushed towards her, enveloping her in a warm embrace.
"Alisha, where have you been all day? We were so worried."
"What happened? Are you okay?"
"Did they hurt you? You look terrified."
"Tell us what happened, Alisha. We've been so anxious. Is Jaxon alright?"
Alisha glanced at James with guilt, but she made sure to conceal her feelings from her family.
James interrupted the heartwarming family reunion, "Well, well, well, what a lovely family reunion! But I'm afraid it's too quick for that now. As mentioned earlier, there will be an arrest in this house tonight." He turned to the ESU agent and added, "Officers, please."
The head of the ESU agent called. "Henry Carl." Which raised confusion among the family members.
"What is it? Henry answered.
"Please step forward," the officer commanded.
"Why?" Henry inquired, baffled.
"What is the meaning of this?" The family questioned, unsure of what was happening.
"You're under arrest for assaulting this man," he declared, pointing towards James.
"Who?" The family was taken aback.
The ESU agent swiftly seized Henry and handcuffed him, but he didn't go down without a fight. Henry struggled vigorously to break free, but the trained agents easily overpowered him, making his resistance futile.
"Please do not touch my son," Kate pleaded. "He is innocent."
The family members too began to plead with the officers to release Henry. "Officers, we're begging you, please, let him go. We promise he won't cause any more trouble."
"He's part of this family; please don't take him away. We'll handle the situation ourselves."
"Please, Sir! Consider the family's reputation. We don't want any more problems."
"He may have made mistakes, but we can sort this out without involving the law."
"We're genuinely sorry for any trouble he caused. Please give him another chance."
The ESU agents remained unmoved by the pleas from the Carl family.
Alisha knew better than to plead with James, who had ordered the arrest. She knelt down and called out to him desperately with tears in her eyes, "James, please."
But James paid her no attention at all, he disregarded Alisha's pleas and simply said to the ESU agents, "We're finished here." Afterward, he left with the ESU agents together with Henry.
When they were gone, the whole family sat on the floor, sadly. They knew they were in deep trouble; To make matters worse, Mr. Sterling had cut all ties with them and promised to deal with them severely.
After the whole arrest, James retired back to a small hotel room he rented. Tomorrow, he needed to be at work. Not long after, he fell asleep.
