James kept walking closer to where every member of the Carl family was seated.
He was beside himself with joy as he saw the gloomy faces of everyone. He smiled inwardly to himself.
But before he could get any closer, Henry got up and tried to push him.
"Hey son of a b*tch what are you doing here? You have got guts to be here right now."
James quickly held his hands and pushed him aside and proceeded to where everyone was seated.
Henry staggered and then fell to the ground because of how hard James pushed him.
"How dare you push my son, you jerk?"
Kate cried out.
"You have the guts to lay your filthy hands on him…"
Kpai! She slapped James across the face but James was too quick and dodge the slap.
"Yes, and I'll do it again." James interrupted her and continued to walk towards them.
The remaining people who were still around were stunned, and those who were deciding to leave decided to wait and watch how everything would play out.
"Look! It's the Carl family's used to be good for nothing son in law."
"Has he come to humiliate them further?"
"Let's stay back and watch how everything plays out."
The Carl family were shocked as James has never tried fighting back or talking back in the past when he was married to Alisha. Even Pa Aaron and Ma Pat were shocked.
They have always seen James as a weakling and a loser, and now he is acting differently.
What's worse is that he came at the time they were all in a bad mood after being humiliated by Mr. sterling.
Could it be that he has heard of everything that happened earlier on and has decided to come and humiliate them further.
If it's so, they must make sure he never gets away with it. Today, he will regret ever being born.
When he got too close to the family he stopped and turned to face Pa Aaron.
"Hmm… Nice celebration Pa Aaron." James began, "but it seems the celebrant is not here."
He was referring to Alisha and they knew it.
The whole of the Carl family were so embarrassed by Mr. Sterling's outburst that they forgot that Alisha was not home yet.
They began to pick up their phones to call her and ask about her whereabouts and Jaxon's.
Ring! Ring! Ring!...
No answer.
"Relax, now, your daughter is safe. Maybe she's so preoccupied with work today that she forgot about the party. Speaking of the party, I know I'm no longer part of the Carl family but I think I should have been invited. Anyway that's not the problem, the problem here is that I've come to take what's mine.
At this point, Pa Aaron got so angry. How dare this moron walk in here to not only humiliate the Carl family In front of the crowd, he also demands to take what's his.
'What has he ever owned?' he wondered.
'This loser must be sick in the head If he's still talking about Alisha.'
A good for nothing leech who cannot afford a decent meal is talking to him in such disrespectful manner.
To say the least, James walked in at the moment his anger was in full swing to say this to him and he couldn't tolerate anymore.
But he managed to control himself. He decided to play with James a little bit before dealing with him.
'I'll play with this fool a little bit before I deal with him,' he thought.
"What have you come here for, my son?" He asked James calmly.
"Father, are you trading words with this mad man?" Kate spat out surprised.
Everyone was surprised too. They couldn't believe why Pa Aaron could be so soft spoken with James, the good for nothing son-in-law.
Pa Aaron gave Kate a hard look.
"Relax, Kate. Let's give James a listening ear. Besides, he used to be one of us."
He said and nodded at James. James returned the nod but couldn't believe Pa Aaron would ever give him a listening ear.
'Could it be that Pa Aaron has figured out that I came with the ESU agents or he has changed for good? Whatever game this old man is playing, I must make sure I don't fall for it.'
"'Please, sit."
James was about to take the seat but the rest of the family members went into an uproar.
"Don't you dare sit down here." Richard Carl said.
"But Father he can't sit among us…"
"Oh! he smells so bad," Sophie Carl said."
"He's here to humiliate us all..." Ma Pat shrieked.
"Enough all of you! I'm the head of this family and I say he sits."
They all kept quiet. No one dares disobey Pa Aaron's orders.
James took the seat and sat down.
"So son, what brings you here?"
James thought for a moment. He no longer felt the need to humiliate the whole of the Carl family as Pa Aaron is acting nice towards him. He completely believed Pa Aaron had changed for good because of the way he was shouting at everyone because of him not knowing it was all a trap.
He cleared his throat.
"I…I…just wanted to come and witness the celebration since I used to be part of the family," he lied.
He took out the mini phone in his pocket and was about to dismiss the ESU agents but stopped when Pa Aaron began to laugh.
"Hahaha! Hahaha!"
What's wrong, father?" James asked.

The heavy slaps from Pa Aaron took James unaware.
"You're wrong, and don't you ever dare to call me father you bastard. To say that you would ever believe that I will welcome you into my home as my son? I'd rather die."
"Now Richard and Mark hold him down."
James couldn't believe what was happening. He tried to get up but it was too late as Richard Carl and Mark Carl quickly rushed and pushed him down to the ground.
The whole of the Carl family heaved a sigh of relief.
"I thought as much. How could granddad ever accept this Moron," Henry said.
"Now let's all teach him a lesson that he'd never ever forget in his wretched life," Pa Aaron said.******
