Chapter 17
Tyler's smile grew wider as Lila approached, and he stood up to greet her. "Hey, Lily," he said, his voice low and smooth. "You look amazing today."
Lily's heart skipped a beat as Tyler's eyes roamed over her, taking in every detail of her appearance. She felt a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that she had caught his attention.
"But too bad, that's about to be ruined." He added and she raised her brows, and was about to ask what he meant, when icy cold water poured over her, from head to toe, and she froze.
Immediately, students began bringing out their phones.
"Tyler?" She called, when she heard Lucia and her group's voice, "What's going..."
She couldn't finish, when red paint was poured all over her.
"Tyler!!" She yelled this time, but only mocking laughters were heard.
"Don't you dare call his name. Did you really think you were worth him?" Lucia's voice came and she frowned.
"Tyler what's she saying?" Lily asked, cleaning her eyes to unable her see Tyler.
Then she saw, Lucia, Maeve, and Jodie, their faces twisted into cruel smiles.
"Lily, did you really think you were worth me?" Tyler said his smile growing wider as he took in Lily's shocked expression. "You're just a pathetic little girl who thinks she's worthy of my attention," he sneered, his voice dripping with malice.
"You're nothing but a silly, naive little girl who thinks she can catch my eye," he continued, his words cutting deep. "Newsflash, sweetheart: you're not even in my league. You're just a joke, a pathetic little crush that I never took seriously."
Lily's eyes welled up with tears as Tyler's hurtful words washed over her. She felt a wave of shame and humiliation wash over her, and she couldn't speak, couldn't move, couldn't do anything but stand there and endure the verbal lashing.
"You're just a silly little girl who I toyed it. You and I can never be a thing," Tyler sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "But you're not even in the same game as me. You're just a pathetic little pawn, a joke, a nobody."
The cafeteria erupted into laughter and jeers, with Lucia, Maeve, and Jodie leading the charge. Lily stood there, frozen in shock and humiliation, as the entire cafeteria ridiculed her.
Lucia then cooed, "Tyler, darling," wrapping her arm around his waist, "I'm glad you finally put this shitty girl in her place."
"I would do that a million times for you." Tyler says, pecking Lucia on her lips.
"Tyler..." She sniffed, "Tyler how could you do this to me. I thought you also liked me!" Lily said, as her heart shattered into pieces.
"I can never Lily! You are disgusting!" He said, and she fell to the ground more tears flowing, as camera clicks, we're head from different angles.
Students taking pics and videos.
"Babe, let's go, we can't keep wasting our time on this pathetic fool." Lucia said, and Tyler nodded, and as they walked away Maeve and Jodie mocking laughter were heard.
As they walked some distance, Tyler, saw his two friends, Evan and Jordan calling after him.
He stopped, and turned to Lucia.
"Go away!" He told her and she frowned.
"Why? But I wanna stay..."
He cut her short.
"Shut up, and get your fvcking self out of my sight. You got what you wanted didn't you, I helped you disgrace Lily. NOW. STAY. AWAY. FROM. ME!" He warned, emphasising word after word on the last sentence.
"I don't even know what your problem is, you can't even see how much I love you! You are such an idiot, and you will belong to me and only me alone." Lucia said, before angrily storming away with Maeve and Jodie as always.
Turns out this has been the plan, Maeve brought and they've been hatching. Instead of attacking Lila, they went to her sister instead, as that would also affect her (Lila).
"Bro, what happened back there?" Jordan asked, staring at Lucia's retreating figure.
"What did you see happen?" Tyler said, coldly.
"Why would you do such a thing? What did Lucia give you?" Evan asked.
"You know things would be a whole lot easier, if you two just mind your business. Mind your fvcking business!" He said, before walkng away leaving Evan and Jordan who exchanged curious glances.
Lila was shocked and angry about everything that had happened, at school. She didn't expect her sister to be played.
She glanced at Lily who wouldn't stop crying and let out a huge sigh.
"Lily it's okay." She said, patting her back.
She had made up her mind to revenge on those idiots.
"It's not Lila. It's not! How could he do this to me!!" She half yelled crying the more.
Lila ran her hands through her hair, not knowing what to say anymore. She herself felt exhausted. Laura and Daniel had left the previous day saying they had something to attend to.
"Tanya where are you?" She said, inwardly, knowing if Tanya was around she could handle this situation more better.
Lily suddenly looked up at her, "Lila tell me, do I look pathetic? Aren't I good enough. Don't lie to me, I'm a ugly?"
"Of course not Llily, you're none of those, he's only just st..."
Lila couldn't finish, when Lily broke into another round of tears.
"You're lying to me!" She said and continued crying.
Lila just stated in frustration.
Soon the doorbell rang and she glanced at thr door, before going to get it, just wishing it was Tanya, saying I'm home.
With this thought she pulled the door opened abruptly but frowned when she saw who was at the door.
It was an old woman to Lila's surprise, the old woman was leaning on a wooden cane, her hands grasping it tightly. Her silver hair was thinning and styled in a short cut, framing her round face. She wore comfortable-looking slacks and a faded floral blouse, topped with a cozy cardigan. Despite being old, one could tell she wss healthy and well taken care of.
And you couldn't also help but notice her stern gaze, as she scanned Lila.
Lila's gaze then went to the luggage beside the woman.
Just then the old lady scoffed before speaking...
