Chapter 100 "You're still pathetic Emma"

My eyes flew open and i found myself tied up in a small, stuffy, room.

“Well.. you're so pathetic Wendy." I muttered under my breath and with just the tip of my finger, the ropes binding me came loose.

Taking a deep breath, i closed my eyes and tried illuminating around me with a golden light. The room had only one window and a chair– the one i was tied on.

“Ah ah ahn don't even think about escaping little bitch." Wendy's voice came through a microphone above.

“Then come stop me" i replied with a scoff.

“No she isn't. Welcome back Emma time to complete the rituals" Rexy said coming into the room with a smug Wendy.

I laughed “pathetic. Didn't you have liriah as a partner.? Why'd you come alone.?”

" Stop being all smug because you've got some powers now. But newsflash– I've gotten more powerful” he boasted rancorously and they bursted into laughter.

" You're so blind and foolish Wendy. He's going to use you as a pawn and abandon you” i calmly stated with my hands crossed like they were just clowns trying to entertain me.

“Some is feeling insecure because she got abandoned by the man she loves so she thinks everyone is like him. Sorry girl– Rexy loves me for real" she coyly replied, resting her head on his shoulder affectionately.

He kissed her temple and she giggled like a fool– which she actually is. But as she mentioned Reno, i became disoriented and down.

“They're trying to distract you master. Don't listen to them and focus because if they succeed in making your emotions unstable, your powers becomes unable to control and you can be easily defeated" Finly warned me.

" Got it Finly.” I softly replied.

" Enough with the talk.!” I shouted, and they turned to look at me, disappointed that I didn't become jealous about their love games and get out of control. “I know the pathetic move you're trying to play on me Rexy. But sorry you're out of luck because I aren't in the mood for games today"

Seeing his game was up, he pushed Wendy away from him. " I see you figured it out so quick than i expected. Since you wanna make this hard on yourself, let's play.” He replied and slowly lifted his hands like he was summoning something from the ground.

I too focused my energy and created a golden halo around myself. With a roar, we charged at each other and collided with our fists.

A terrifying wave of energy swept across the building, knocking Wendy out cold. Like i predicted, he didn't even pay her any heed.

But that my slight distraction nearly cost me everything. As my eyes strayed to Wendy, Rexy charged at me again and knocked me straight to the ground.

The protective halo around me cracked and dark energy from Rexy began to steep in, contaminating the pure energy in my essence.

“Just give it up now ‘princess’ and I'll do the honors of making sure your body gets back to your elders in heaven” he sneered, increasing pressure and the cracks on my halo multiplied. A part of it began to turn black too.

I tried resisting but a splitting pain tore through my head and i fell back before i could stand. My consciousness began to blur.

" We can't let him master” Finly's weak voice said. She too was being affected by the dark energy.

With my last bit of strength, i began humming the tune to summon the spirit of light.

Rexy's eyes widened in panic as he heard the tune, the obviously recognized it. “You think summoning the spirit of light can save you?" He asked, trying to put on a brave facade. But I've already seen through it and knew he was panicked.

Taking advantage of that weakness, i unleashed a blast of energy that sent him crashing through the door of the room.

I quickly stood up and drew out my divine sword. But when i stepped out of the room, he was nowhere to be found.

“Why are you running away from a fight chicken heart.? Weren't you all cocky earlier.?!" I mocked, searching around the huge villa.

“He's trying to lure you into a trap master. Don't carelessly enter into any of these rooms, he must have kept something in wait." Finly warned again.

“Then what do we do.?"

“We create our own trap to lure him out Master. Pretend like you're escaping the villa. Seeing his prey slipping away will surely make him panic and come out” she advised.

" Brilliant”

I hurried down the curved stairs and tip toed towards the door like i was escaping. Sure enough, as soon as my hand touched the door knob, an arrow was shot directly at me.

Greatfully, my quick reflexes kicked in and i dodged to the side. Rexy was standing at the top of the stairs with a bow.

" Tired of playing hide and seek.?” I mocked but he didn't reply and sent countless arrows flying towards me.

I quickly activated the golden halo again before the arrows struck.

“Your skills are still so pathetic. You can't even manage to crack my defense" i taunted further.

He floated downstairs and stood in front of me. “Those powers belong to me and I'm taking…”

With a tiny flick of my finger, and apple flew into his mouth and cut him mid sentence. " You're such a noise maker. After all the powers you've stolen from Lima you can't still aquire one third of earth, talkless of hell. Just return to your father and ask for forgiveness– oops my bad.! He's lucifer himself and doesn't forgive” i sneered and his face darkened.

“You're forcing my hands Emma" he growled, spitting out the apple.

“You're nothing but a toothless bulldog" i fired back, drawing out my sword again. " Let's clean up this mess, I've better things to do”

He drew out his chin and we clashed. The terrifying energy swept across the city and the agonizing screams of people pierced through the darkening sky.

The villa was instantly reduced to nothing. We remained locked in position, glaring fiercely at each other, none willing to back down.

I pressed harder against this chain and he shifted back a little. He released a surge of energy and i was pushed into a corner.

As time went on, his faces began to show signs of strain and using the opportunity, i pushed further. He gritted his teeth, trying to fight back but the long stalemate has drained most of his essence.

“You're still pathetic Emma" he muttered and struggled to reach the faintly glowing necklace around his neck.

“We can't let him yank off that necklace Master.!" Finly hysterically screamed but we were too late.

He yanked off the skeleton head adorning the necklace and time froze instantly.
