Serena Mclane's P. O. V My eyes widen as I open and close my mouth, quickly looking behind me to see if I can run away but knowing he'll just chase after me. "I wa- I didn't-. I woke up." Is all I say as I look at him through wide eyes. Damien looks at me through his own cold hard eyes. I would much rather have him be angry at me than gaze at me the way he is currently doing. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to do. Damien clenches his jaw and crosses his arms across his chests and only then do I realise; Damien is standing half naked right in front of my very eyes. My eyes linger onto his bulging muscles that I always knew were there, hiding under his snug layers of suits. Glistening with sweat, my eyes dart down to the smooth plains of his chest, sculpted and chiselled to perfection. Eyes continue to trail downwards to his rock hard abs, his deep v lines and the small line of hair from his happy trail delving into his shorts. My mouth runs dry as I glance at Damien to see him staring right at me, luckily not noticing me drinking every inch of him. Even if he does know, he doesn't seem to care. Just yesterday I was thinking how I never see him in anything but a suit and now he stands before me, half naked. I lick my lips as we continuously stare at each other but then cringe at the metallic coppery taste invading my mouth. It makes me want to gag. Damien snaps out of his thoughts as he realises I'm basically just standing there with blood dripping down my face. He sighs and takes a step towards me, grabbing my hand as he leads me into the room. Only now can I actually see what the noise was all about. Every inch of the– larger than normal room– is decked out in gym equipment From treadmills to a bench press to dumb bells lying scattered on the floor. Definitely a place I don't have much interest in then. Working out and exercise aren't my type of hobby. But sometimes I'll go for a run if I feel like it and also if there's nothing to make my procrastinating mind stop me from doing so. Though I feel that if I had an option to see the man in question work out, I would be in here more than often. Damien's hold on my hand tightens as he takes me to a three seater black leather sofa that's pushed against the back wall with empty bottles of water littering the floor. He sits me down before bending down in front of me and reaching right down beside the couch, next to my leg. I freeze in place as my eyes follow his actions. Only to relax as I see the first aid box in his hand. He pulls it open and grabs sterile tissues, then grasps a hold of my chin in his hand. "I'm fine, just a tiss-," "Shh." Damien cuts me off as he furrows his eyebrows, focused on the task at hand. I clamp my mouth shut as he leans even closer to catch my face better in the light. I try to hold back a cough and bite my lip at our nearness. This is not good. I wince and pull back out of his hold as the tiny cuts on my upper lip start to sting. "Keep still Serena." Damien commands as he grasps a hold of me once again. I try to comply but can't help but to wince here and there. Damien tilts my head downwards but the bleeding has luckily stopped. He quickly assesses my face before sighing out and throwing the wipes in the dust bin, next to the couch. Damien still doesn't get up as he searches my face for something. "I'm sorry. I really wasn't trying to pry well I was but I mean I was curious and I mean you did wake me up so it is kind of your fault not that there's anyone to blame really just saying." I finish, quietly pursing my lips and then glancing at him. He shakes his head but dusts his hands off on his shorts before getting up. "Go to bed. I won't bother you with the noise anymore." He says turning his back to me and chugging a bottle of water. "Damien I-," "Drop it Serena and go to bed." He answers in that same cold detached voice. I sigh and stand up. "Thanks for the help." I murmur as I pass him. "Night." I call back softly behind me, only to get no answer in return. Sometimes it feels like my father and Damien are the same people with the same attitude. Uncaring and cold. At least towards me they are. ********* Waking up the next morning, I turn around in bed only for my eyes to catch on to the alarm clock. My eyes widen and I automatically sit up in bed, throwing the covers off of me. What the hell? It's nearing eleven thirty. Scrambling around, all I seem to be doing is running around in a circle. Go freshen up, I think to myself and so I do. Fifteen minutes later, I emerge from the bathroom. My mind now more alert and not as foggy. Quickly throwing on a pencil skirt and blouse with some heels, I do my make up and hair before marching downstairs. He probably just decided to head in late that's all. Damien was up till pretty late last night. However, I'm proved to be wrong as I head into the kitchen to see no one in there. I go from his study to bedroom, calling his name out numerous times before I come to the much apparent conclusion that he's left me behind. I stomp my foot for good measure as I groan in annoyance. Why would he leave me behind? I saved his ass yesterday at my fathers office. What if he does something stupid again today? Glancing around, I try to find a set of keys or something along those lines. I'm sure he has more than one car parked in the garage. First I have to find the keys to the damn place. Scouring the house, I end up near the front door where a set of shiny keys are placed. Grabbing them, I make my way to the door that leads to the garage and luckily enough the door opens. Stepping into the dark room, I flip on the light which immediately makes my eyes widen. Three gleaming cars lay in content with green covers on them. I tilt my head to the side after removing the covers. Which car looks the most expensive? Lifting the covers off, I think for a while before striding up to the pretty glossy black sports car situated right at the end. I grab another set of keys, the same one that has the matching logo to the car. With a beeping noise it clicks open. I like to look at cars but for the sake of me can only differentiate between certain logos. That's all I know about cars. My eyebrows furrow as I glance at the four set of keys. Yet there are only three cars. Walking further into the back of the garage, I come to a halt as my mouth drops open. A deep stormy blue motorcycle lies perched in the back corner, away from the sight of everyone else. Damien Stryker; Billionaire entrepreneur by day. Ghost rider by night. I can't help but to let out a snort at my ridiculous thoughts. Heading back to the car, I slide in and before I know it, I'm speeding out of the car and on my way to Damien's office, all along the way, wondering why the hell he left me behind. ********* Reaching his office, the same man as last time takes my–I mean Damien's– car from me after saying a quick and pleasant good morning. At least he's nice here. The others just ignore you and go about their business which actually is quite beneficial. They mind their own business. Striding up to the elevators, I wait patiently and step in to the lobby only to find Max with his head stuck in a file of papers, perched at his desk. "Good morning Max." I say chirpily. Max's head immediately snaps up and his eyes stare at me in horror. "Ms. Mclane. What are you doing here?" I furrow my eyebrows and make a face at the way his question came out slightly accusatory, "Well I sort of work here in a way. Like an intern, I guess." I mumble. Max got me to thinking. My job doesn't have a specific name but I guess you can call it an internship. I'm learning firsthand experience on how to successfully run a business. It's not like they have a for 'Dummies guide' for something like this. Never mind, I'm pretty sure they do. "Oh, okay." Max replies though I can see him fidget in nervousness. What's up with him? Reaching Damien's office corridor, I march up to it. "Wait, Ms. Mclane!" Max calls out, "you can't go in there. Mr. Stryker is in a meeting." At this I fasten my pace. "All the more reason. Thank you for your help Max." I call out to him. If he's in a meeting, I should definitely be there.Isn't that the whole point of this thing? I enter with a quick knock but don't wait for an answer. I've already announced my arrival anyways. Opening the door, I step in but immediately halt. My eyes flit from Damien to the person sitting in front of him. "Sarah?"
