Chapter 230 The Judas Reveal

Chapter 230 The Judas Reveal
Kai glanced around the room, "Rode," he stated, "I need to speak to Rode; where is he?" He needed to know, to make sure Rode wasn't tied up in some room or something.

"Jesus, Malakai," Oliver deadpanned.

Anna paused, sharing a look with Takeshi's father, "So it's you... you're the one who's been taking my son's attention from me..." she chuckled, "Seems like I and my son have the same taste—"

"Disgusting," Cam muttered.

"Shut up, ginger. I don't mind using you as a scapegoat," Anna warned.

"Awesome," Cam stiffened as he felt the gun pressing behind his head, "Easy with the hair... it's hard to maintain," he said, rolling his eyes.

"Enough!" Anna slammed her hand on the table, glaring from one man to the other.

"Do you all think you can waste my time by fooling around?" She asked.

"That's the plan... let's waste both our times," Baby smiled.

"No more time wasting. I wiped the evidence from each of your phones, cleared from the cloud, too. This flash drive holds the only surviving evidence, and I'm willing to give it if you bring Rode to me now—"

"You have no right, Kai. This isn't your case," Saint seethed.

"You got us all involved; I rushed myself to get these videos, so, I think I have right enough to give it away for what I want. Also, I'm saving our lives," Kai answered.

"And, young man, what makes you think we can't shoot you and your friends and the damned flash drive?" Takeshi's father asked, smirking.

"Ah, the dumb speaks," Takeshi scoffed.

"Because, to access the document, you need to input a twenty-digit code. It's practically useless without me," Kai replied smoothly.

"Smart. I guess we give him what he wants," Georgia nodded.

"Douglas, bring our dear son in, please," Anna said to Takeshi's father.

Douglas nodded and stood, walking out of the room.

"I wish I was born by a squirrel; it would have been a peaceful life," Takeshi muttered.

"I don't blame you for fucking other younger men," he glanced at Anna beside him, "I would too if I married that idiot—" he was shut up with a slap, swinging his face to the side.

Oliver was on his feet immediately, but before he could move, he had two guys pointing at him.

Anna chuckled, "How romantic," she tisked, shaking her head.

"Each man has a man," Georgia laughed, "Apart from you, Baby. You just lost yours," she taunted.

Saint moved his hand under the table, reaching to hold Baby's, but Baby moved his hand away from Saint's reach, clenching his jaw.

"Fuck you, Georgia," Baby cursed.

"Oh, Baby, I plan to. Trust me," she winked at him.

The door suddenly opened and everyone turned their heads to it.

Rode stepped in, looking like he'd just returned from a very important meeting with his fitted suit and slicked hair. It wasn't Rode's style.

He didn't do suits—or was this the real him?

Rode bypassed everyone in the doorway and marched straight to Kai, his eyes cold and unfamiliar.

"The flash drive," Rode demanded, stretching his hand out to Kai, eyes locked coldly onto Kai's.

Kai gulped quietly, almost pulling Rode in, but he stayed put, his heart racing with fear as he wished for Rode to be innocent. He knew he was naive; at this point, there was no redemption for Rode, but there he was, hoping like a fool.

"I waited, Rode..." Kai murmured, "I missed you—"

"The flash drive, Kai. Don't be stupid," Rode said coldly.

Kai looked away, unable to contain the hurt in his chest.

"Just to be clear, Rode..." Kai inhaled shakily, "Our time together—"

"A man can have fun, Kai. Now, don't waste anymore of my time, the flash drive," Rode gestured for the butlers who immediately came and roughly pulled Kai's hands to the back.

Kai grunted, meeting Rode's gaze with his own vulnerable ones, "You don't have to hurt me... you know I'll do anything for you," he said softly.

"Don't make me ask twice, Kai—"

"Will you let us go... if I tell you the code?" Kai asked, glancing around the table at his friends.

Rode shrugged, "Why would we keep them? You're the one delaying their freedom."

"Actually... you guys can go. We'll release Mr. Handsome after we've confirmed what's in there," Anna announced, waving the butlers away.

They lowered their guns, stepping away from the guys.

"Lead your friends away, Takeshi, and Saint..." Georgia turned to Saint with a smug smile, "You will go to your wife immediately. I need a grandchild by the end of the year—"

"So you can turn it into a sex slave?" Takeshi spat.

"Take your friends out, Takeshi. Be at the garage by midnight," Anna instructed.

Slowly, Saint stood, watching Baby move away from him. He saw how Baby glared at Rode as he walked toward him.

"I really thought we were friends," Baby whispered beside Rode before walking away.

"Georgia," Saint paused beside the smirking woman, "Trust me, you, your friends, and your black-market company will surely pay for what you've done," he warned.

"It's okay, we're always innocent," Georgia replied.

"You're delusional," Saint murmured.

"She's not," Rode cut in smoothly.

Saint paused, slowly turning to face Rode, "You know, I've refused to speak to you, Judas. But since you want further explanation, go ahead, Rode," he arched his brows.

Rode smirked, "I own the place. Reporting the garage will only put me behind bars... You won't like that, would you? Sending your friend behind bars? Kai won't like that, am I right, darling?" Rode chuckled, winking at Kai.

"You're a psycho," Saint muttered, gritting his teeth.

"Just go, Saint," Kai whispered.

With one last disappointed look at Rode, Saint turned and strode out of the room.

They all left, leaving just Kai with the enemies.

"Now, Mr. Loverboy, the flash drive," Anna smiled.

Kai chuckled, nodding slowly, "Here," he held it out to Rode.

Rode stretched his hand to take it but Kai closed his hand around Rode's, pulling him in.

"Don't," Rode lifted his free hand to the butler who was aiming to shoot at Kai.

"You're really asking to die, aren't you?" Rode whispered beside Kai's ear.

"If you're the one behind the gun... yeah—"

"You're stupid," Rode snatched the flash drive from Kai and shoved him away.

Kai stumbled back, watching Rode closely.

He wasn't buying this crap. This was his Rode. They're making him do this; he could feel it in his bones.

"You really think I'm forced to do this?" Rode chuckled, taking the laptop from one of the butlers, "I don't care what you think, come over here and input the fucking code."

Kai nodded; maybe he was truly being blinded by love.

Maybe this is who Rode was, and he was just the unlucky guy who fell in love with a criminal.

He moved over to the table, standing right next to Rode, "Just one to twenty," he murmured.

Rode scoffed, "Try it," he pointed to one of the butlers.

He watched as the codes were keyed in, and the videos immediately appeared.

"You're not the only tech guy in the building, sweetheart," Rode smirked, "Check for any other copies," he said to the butler.

Kai stood quietly, watching the guy do his thing.

"Nothing, boss," the butler said.

"Awesome. Go," Rode said to Kai, turning away from him.

"Not when I've not spoken to you—"

"Get out!" Rode snapped, glaring at Kai.

"Or, do you want to stay with us?" Anna's voice slithered behind Kai.
