Chapter. 25 Attacking the Rogues

"Carol, wait!" Logan finally caught up with Carol who was already walking first.

Ahead, Carol headed for the throne room she had cleaned earlier. However, there was already Herduro sitting on the throne. On either side of him, I saw two of his men fanned with palm leaves. Meanwhile, Herduro was laughing out loud because he felt victorious in defeating Logan.

"Hahaha. Soon! Soon Logan's death will come. That arrogant leader will face his demise. Then we will claim his throne as Alpha by swapping it with his corpse.”

"You can dream all you want! But I will never allow that to happen," Logan said. He was about to step out of hiding. However, Carol immediately stopped him.

"Are you going to kill yourself? We can't be careless. This is his base. His lair. It's clear that everyone here supports him. And we can't just fight him with just the two of us!" Carol whispered a warning.

"Weren't you the one who was so eager to kill Herduro. Why are you afraid of yourself now? What exactly are you thinking now?"

"I do plan to kill him, but we have to have a careful plan to do it all. Remember, we are in his territory," Carol replied firmly.

"So, what's your plan now?" asked Logan.

"We need to get into that room. Under Herduro's throne is a symbol that can help us destroy the man," Carol said in a half-whisper.

"Go inside? How?"

"I'm thinking about it," Carol replied. Soon Herduro's men arrived with panicked and hurried faces. Carol and Logan immediately hid behind the wall.

"Sir! Master! Logan! Logan Scott is gone. He managed to escape from the room!" the man said quickly.

"What?! Who's guarding him? Why did he escape?" said Herduro, his face red with anger. All of his men immediately looked down in fear.

"I don't know, sir. But, according to Zekora's guards. Someone asked her to eat while he promised to guard her outside the door."

"It's obvious it's a trap! Find him now and kill him! I'm sure they won't be able to leave here!" Herduro ordered. "Ask everyone to join you in searching for her until you find her!"

"Yes, sir." Herduro's men immediately rushed off. Leaving Herduro alone in the room.

"This is a good time for us," Carol replied and walked into the room. Logan immediately followed Carol's steps inside. Because he didn't want to be caught by them again.

"Hey! What are you doing here? I told you to find Logan's whereabouts now? Why did you even come here?" Herduro said in a high tone.

"Because we came to tell you where Logan is now," Carol replied without changing her voice.

"Lest you-" Herduro had not yet finished his words. Suddenly, Logan closed the door to the room from the inside. After that, Logan and Carol took off their robes and showed their true identities. "Logan!" screamed Herduro.

"Hello, Herduro. Looks like your alter ego is still the same as before. Too ambitious to get something. To the point of daring to do anything. Even killing your own wife. Can't you learn from experience? The one that got you expelled from the palace and ostracized by all Pack members," Logan said. Herduro was actually the younger brother of William Scott, Logan's father. So, Logan knew Herduro's background for sure.

Aren't you the daughter of the greatest warrior in the Black Moon Pack who earned the nickname Shield of the Pack?" Herduro said to Carol. The girl did not answer immediately. Outside, Herduro's men and the Zekora began to suspect that the room was closed from the inside. They started shouting, calling Herduro until the atmosphere became quite noisy.

"Don't spread any more lies, Herduro. Better come down here and face us both!" Logan challenged. Meanwhile, Herduro continued to stall for time. So that his men could break down the entrance and help him deal with the two of them.

"Carol! Hurry up and do it now! The people outside are getting baffling!" Logan shouted, but Carol ignored him completely. She still looked confused and thought about what Herduro had just said.

"Carol! Hurry up and kill him now! I can no longer hold back the people who are forcing their way in!" shouted Logan. The people already overwhelmed him. Please, for the sake of our beloved Black Moon Pack," Logan said in an increasingly harsh tone. Carol exhaled a heavy breath. Then she grabbed Herduro's hand. That made Herduro laugh out loud. While Logan could only stare at Carol with an incredulous face and feel desperate.

"Carol! No way," Logan muttered. Because he was caught off guard. The door he was holding managed to be broken from the outside. In fact, until he bounced forward.
