Everyone got into the limousine. Now nerves were about to take over but Al squeezed her hand and convinced her that everything was going to be okay. Mel smiled and got out of the car with confidence knowing that today she was going to marry the man that she truly loves and that loves her back. someone that will never hurt her feeling or try to hurt her physically. She will live with a man that will put their four kids above everything and will continue to treat her like a queen. She walked up to the altar to meet her man and her father placed her hand in he’s. Ethan spoke from his heart and almost everyone was in tears. Mel then started with her vows. Ethan became the happiest man ever not knowing that deep inside Dylan he wanted to explode of all the happiness and joy when Al smiled at him and knotted her head. He knew that he was going to be a daddy and then another big surprise when he saw the ring on her finger. The vows were done and everyone enjoyed themselves at the reception.

Hey my love Dylan says when he had the time to speak to Al.

Ethan made the announcement that he and his wife will be leaving for their honeymoon now and Mell started greeting everyone starting with the twins.

Ethan walked up to them and made a promise that he will take them to Disneyland as soon as the school holidays start. They understood and was more than happy to stay with grandma Liz and grandpa Dave. They greeted everyone by waving and then left the reception area.

1 Month Later ….

Mel and the twins settled in with Ethan in his house. Al was busy with the preparations for her upcoming wedding that was taking place in four days’ time. Their business was extremely successful that they employed more architects that finished their studies and seek for jobs. Mel and Al still dealt with the big jobs but loved the opinions of the new comers.

Mel left the office early when Ethan came to pick her up and they left for the airport. Ethan made his jet available to everyone that would join them for the big day in the Seychelles now two days away. The weather was beautiful and Al got to choose the last little details of her wedding. Dylan wanted everything to be special for her and made himself available to discuss and choose things with her. His parents were more than happy to gain a daughter and in a couple of months a grandchild. Liz arranged for them to be pampered at the resort and then their make-up. The ceremony took place on the beach and the reception in a cute little restaurant. The place was decorated with different colour orchids as it’s Al favoured. The family spend an extra couple of days at the resort and everyone went back home as Al did not feel well due to the pregnancy and she wanted to help Mel with big project.

Dylan came to the office one afternoon and Al was very happy to see him. He asked if Mel was in because he needed to see her regarding a matter. He walked to her office after Al advised that she was there. He advised her that there was a letter that he received for her. Mel was very surprised because who would send Dylan a letter for her. He explained to her that it was from another county and that he was informed that it was from George. At first she was not happy about it at all but then Dylan asked her to see what he had to say and if it was not something good then he will take the matter back to court. Mel slowly opened the envelope and started ready the letter.

Dear Mel,

If you opened this letter to read it then I want to thank you. I don’t know where to start but see that I have the opportunity now I will say what I need to. You and the kids are everyday in my mind but don’t worry its good thoughts. I know that I messed up big time and it’s not your fault at all. This place is not the best place to be in but I’m happy that I can take timeout and think of all the things I’ve done. I know you in a much better place now and that the kids are happy. Mel I’m receiving some therapy to get over all the things that I’ve done in my life but I’m also receiving treatment because I’m busy dying. I have stage two cancer and I honestly don’t know if I’m going to survive this but it’s okay. I really made peace with all of this.

The thing that does not make sense to me is how I could keep hurt that I experienced years ago and I took it out on you and my kids. For that I sincerely apologise. You have really become a tough cookie (smiley face drawn) and I’m happy that you could protect yourself and the children against me. Today will be the first time but also the last that you hear from me. Before I forget congratulations on your new business. I always knew that you were going to be a great success, your commitment to being better is greater was very evident. I really wasted so much time, but I really know that you better off without me. I trust that you will raise our kids to become fine young people. Thank you for all the years that you tolerated me. I am extremely happy that you came into my life when I needed someone. I left the money I have for the kids.

Mel was teary but also happy that he opened up to her.

Can I write a letter back please? she asked.

Off course you may Dylan replied.

Dear George,

I am sorry to hear about your illness. I wish that things were different for you. Yes, 2 my life was tough with you but I don’t regret us because I got two beautiful children out of it. I truly trust that you made peace with everything that happened in your life. The kids won’t forget that you their father, I will give the letter to them when they older. We are happy, I have a great husband and he treats the kids well. I truly wish you well in this stage of your life. I know that being alone is maybe not easy but I’m happy that you can think of everything. I forgive you George. Be blessed.

She gave the letter to Dylan and he send it to the sender the previous letter came from.

One Year later

Mel gave birth to twin boys and Al to a baby girl. Dave and Liz felt more than blessed. Ethan was a very hands - on dad and made sure that he had enough time to spend with all four of his children. Cindy was his little princess and he secretly made more time for her. The concern but also the promise her made secretly that he will make sure that he’s baby girl gets only the best from a man.

Dylan was just as committed to the two ladies in his life. Al went back to the office but only if there were big jobs that needed to be done or meeting up with clients. She and Dylan spoke of having another baby in about a years’ time. They want their kids to grow up together and not be too far apart.

Dave and Liz devoted their time fully to the grandchildren and Maria loved having them over at her new house. Mel was not ready to have any more children; she was too afraid that it might end up being twins again. Ethan understands but it still hopeful that she might give in.

George passed on four months later.

Mel and her family had a good relationship. They had their family picnics and always made sure to be there for one another.
