Chapter 15 14. An Idol
Chapter 14

An Idol

"Don't say you needed a fuck this morning, Nick." Charlotte who was standing behind Nick kissed the lips of Nick who was sitting leaning his head on the back of the sofa.
Charlotte, she was Nick's best friend since childhood. Just like Beck and Vanilla. However, their relationship was more casual, Nick sought out Charlotte when he needed an outlet for his urges. Likewise Charlotte, she doesn't mind how Nick treats her. They were both free, Nick was free to date other girls and Charlotte was free to date other guys.
"No, I just need you to listen to my problems," Nick said. "Damn it, I just got rejected by a girl."
Charlotte sat next to Nick. The woman's brows were deeply furrowed, almost touching. "What did you say?"
Nick sighed. "Besides luxury items, what do girls usually like?"
"Handsome men," Charlotte replied quickly and then laughed amusedly.
"Oh my God, I'm serious."
Charlotte played with Nick's curls using her fingertips. "I'm also serious, besides luxury items, I like handsome men just like you like beautiful girls."
"The thing is, this girl is different. She's not like most of the ones I've dated and has blatantly rejected me," Nick said in an annoyed tone.
Vanilla rejected him, the girl no longer wanted to consider Nick until tomorrow. Vanilla firmly rejected Nick and even canceled the event to watch the horse race tomorrow, and kicked Nick out of her house.
"Just buy a luxury car, bag, or watch. I'm sure he'll change his mind," Charlotte said.
Nick furrowed his brows remembering Vanilla's ordinary appearance, although fashionable, the girl was not a luxury worshipper. It seemed so because the items worn by Vanilla were not items with fantastic prices and also the girl wore them several times. Like her watch, the girl wore the same watch several days, as well as her bag.
"I told you she was different," Nick said.
"Gosh, what a hassle. So, what's her hobby?"
"Baking," Nick replied quickly.
"Then give him some baking tools," said Charlotte.
"She has them all."
Charlotte sighed, her eyes watching Nick with a serious look on her face. "You're not very romantic, I'm sure."
Nick moved his head away from the back of the sofa, straightening his back. "Damn it, I don't know how to be romantic."
"Yeah, because so far you only know how to date women in bed." Charlotte punched Nick in the arm. "Try bringing flowers, confessing your love to her. I'm sure she'll melt like hot chocolate."
"I've told her I want to make her mine, make her my lover, I even want to marry her if she's willing."
Charlotte laughed discordantly. She looked back at Nick, they had known each other since they were toddlers as their parents were heavily involved in business cooperation. They were also both trapped in friendships with benefits that could not be said to be short-lived. She had watched Nick change girls dozens of times, and so had Nick. He had repeatedly been her go-to guy whenever Charlotte felt heartbroken.
However, this was the first time she saw Nick acting ridiculous. He said he had been rejected by a girl, which should have made it into the Giuiness Book of Records because it should have been almost impossible considering Nick was the dream guy of girls in Barcelona and probably all over Spain.
The corners of Charlotte's lips lifted slightly, she wanted to see what the girl who dared to reject Nick looked like. Was the girl as beautiful as she was? As rich as her, or maybe her body shape was sexier than her.
"Fool, you think a girl would fall for such an invitation without a word of love?" Charlotte said.
"To hell with your notions," Nick said. "I like her. Yeah, I've liked her since...."
I don't know when, but when he was a teenager he often secretly wanted to seduce Vanilla. However, since the girl was closely guarded by Beck, he chose not to do anything rather than getting into a fight with Beck because he knew how protective Beck was when it came to Vanilla.
Charlotte reached for the tabloid lying on the table. "Like and love are different things."
"So, what should I do?"
"I've never found you to be so stupid over a girl," Charlotte said sarcastically.
"Damn it!" Nick got up from his seat. "I'll catch up with her."
"She'll ignore you, I'll bet," Charlotte said, her tone reassuring.
"This time he won't be able to resist me." Nick adjusted the collar of his jacket.
"You sure are." Charlotte chuckled. "Don't be so confident."
"I'm a Knight, she should regret rejecting me."
"Well, I can't wait to hear about your broken heart," Charlotte taunted.
"We'll see about that."
"Don't forget tomorrow," said Charlotte. Tomorrow she was going to be a horse racing participant, she wanted her friends to watch her performance, including Nick.
"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." Nick snatched the car keys lying on the table then hurriedly stepped out of the place while Charlotte who was only able to stare at her best friend's back, the woman shrugged her shoulders.
While Nick knew where to find Vanilla because the girl said she had a ballet lesson scheduled.

"You're not concentrating at all, Vanilla," said Cassandra who was standing next to Vanilla.
Vanilla grinned. "I'm just a little stiff," she said.
They were in the dressing room of a studio after finishing ballet practice although it felt really strange for Vanilla not to touch her ballet shoes for years.
"No, you're not stiff. But, your mind is not here." Jovanca who was standing between Vanilla and Cassandra replied.
"I'm serious. I'm just a little nervous," Vanilla said trying to convince her friends that she was just nervous.
In fact what Jovanca said was true, her mind was left at her house or perhaps carried away by Nick when she kicked him out of her house.
"Are you thinking about your bodyguard?" Cassandra teased.
Vanilla chuckled, she herself was no longer thinking about Beck. Not even a little bit, instead her headspace was filled with Nick.
"Nonsense," Vanilla said.
"I know how you are," Cassandra said. She looked at Vanilla through the reflection in the mirror in front of them.
Vanilla snorted softly. "I just rejected Nick."
"What?" said Jovanca and Cassandra simultaneously.
"A few hours ago," Vanilla replied, the girl squaring her shoulders.
"You're losing your mind," Cassandra said.
"I'm sure your brain is a little fried," Jovanca chimed in.
"Nick said he wanted to fuck me after I accepted," Vanilla said in an exasperated tone.
Vanilla understood, Vanilla realized it was only natural for Nick to want to fuck her because they were a couple. But couldn't he have said it later as their relationship progressed. Not say it in such a hurry that it scared her and made her think that Nick just wanted to fuck her.
"Oh my God! You're like an elementary school kid," Cassandra mocked. "So, what would you like to date if your boyfriend isn't allowed to fuck you?"
"I guess... holding hands and going to the movies would be enough," Jovanca replied sarcastically.
"Yeah, then Nick finds another girl who's willing to fulfill his passion," Cassandra says.
"I'll bet," Jovanca said, to which Cassandra nodded.
Vanilla looked at her two best friends in turn. "Oh my God," she moaned.
Her two best friends must be thinking of her as an old-fashioned, geeky girl right now.
"That's not what I meant. But, I want to get to know him for a while before we... sleep... I mean make love." Vanilla felt her cheeks blush, she couldn't imagine how passionate she was for Nick. Even just kissing Nick could make her forget everything let alone making love, she wasn't sure if she could stop.
Cassandra rolled her eyes then said, "You already know him, he's your idol...."
"Our idol," Vanilla corrected not accepting her best friend saying that Nick was her idol because the fact was that almost all the girls in their high school liked Nick.
"If Nick confessed his love to me, I wouldn't think twice," Cassandra said.
"What if he fucks me and then leaves me?" asked Vanilla quickly. She finally managed to voice her fears.
Jovanca laughed at Vanilla's innocent question. She sighed and exhaled, glanced at the door and said, "I think we should teach her a few tricks so she's less innocent and can definitely ensnare a man until he can't move."
"That's your part," Cassandra said. "How about we go have some fun tonight?"
"Huh?" Vanilla blinked her eyes.
"No, I'm competing in the horse races tomorrow, I can't come," Jovanca said. "I hope you'll watch tomorrow and wish me luck."
Vanilla blinked her eyes again, she and Nick were supposed to watch the event tomorrow. However, she had no idea that her best friend was on the show.
"I'll watch tomorrow," Vanilla said as quickly as she could make up her mind.
She was sure Nick wouldn't come or even if he did they wouldn't meet considering the size of the racetrack. However, if they did meet, that was fine too. What was the matter? The problem between them had been solved.
"Good, you can come together," Jovanca said. "How about we find a comfortable place to chat?"
