Chapter 90

Isadora POV.

In the months that followed, I enjoyed more peace in my life than I'd ever experienced since the day I was born, I know it sounds like something out of a fairytale but it's the absolute truth, and it was all thanks to Golem's companionship. Life was so much easier around him; he was everything plus even more, more than I could ever ask for and I was head over heels and thankful to the moon goddess.

As for Eamon, I never saw or heard from him since that day. It was as if a whirlwind blew and wiped him off the surface of the earth. He left everything behind—his gold, his Alpha position in the Fire Wolf pack, and the seat belonging to the King of the West was left vacant, he totally abandoned everything.

I guess when he said he was changed, he really was telling the truth. But was he truly a changed person? That was one thing I'd never know for certain. With Eamon, you couldn't be so sure, one thing was certain he was lost and trying to find himself just like me.

As the days continued to go by time seemed to slow down as my belly grew day by day, and every day I could feel the heartbeats of the two new lives growing within me. The joy that I felt was second to none, and the smile on my face was permanent. The palace bubbled with excitement and anticipation, and Golem was by my side every step of the way, his love and support unwavering, as we navigated every step of the pregnancy together.

Cuddled up in his arms as we relaxed on a couch in the throne room, a few maids did a pedicure on my feet while Golem was fast asleep.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp contraction in my belly, making me howl in pain, forcing me to slap Golem awake on his chest with my palm.

"Honey bunny, wake up! The pups are here," I managed to say between breaths.

Golem stirred from his sleep, his eyes widening with realization as he saw the pain etched on my face. Instantly, he sprang into action, his demeanor shifting from groggy to alert in a heartbeat.

"Isadora, are you okay? What's happening?" Golem's voice was filled with concern as he scrambled to his feet, his hands hovering over me as if unsure where to touch first.

I gritted my teeth through another wave of pain. "I think... I think the pups are coming, my water just broke" I managed to gasp.

Golem's eyes widened in shock and excitement. " What !!! This is bad timing there's no doctor around?" he exclaimed, his heart racing with anticipation. "Okay, okay, let's get you to the birthing room, we have to figure something out."

With careful movements, Golem helped me to my feet, supporting me as we made our way through the palace corridors toward the specially prepared birthing room. The maids followed close behind, ready to assist in any way they could.

As we reached the birthing room, I sank onto the soft cushions arranged on the floor, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. Golem knelt beside me.

"It's going to be okay, Isadora," he murmured "Just breathe, my love, breathe for me."

I nodded weakly, clutching onto his hand as another contraction rippled through my body. The maids sprang into action, preparing hot towels and soothing potions, their efficiency a comforting presence in the midst of the chaos.

Hours passed in a blur of pain and effort, each contraction bringing us closer to the moment we had been waiting for. And then, finally, with one last push, our world changed forever.

The cries of newborn pups filled the air, one boy and one girl, their voices a symphony of new life and hope. Tears of joy streamed down my cheeks as Golem lifted our tiny pups into the world, his eyes shining with pride and love. We exchanged a tired but elated smile, our hearts overflowing with love for the tiny beautiful creatures.

The pain of labor was replaced by the overwhelming joy of motherhood. I reached out to touch their tiny faces, marveling at the miracle of life we had created together.

"They're beautiful," Golem whispered. "Just like their mother."

I smiled, feeling a rush of love for the man who had stood by my side through it all. "And just like their father," I replied, and Golem leaned in to press a tender kiss on my cheek.

I decided to name our son Gonzalo, paying tribute to all the battles I fought through before getting to this point and finally finding peace in my life, and especially because he was a wolf just like me.

And Golem named our daughter Lucia because she was a dragon just like him and had the light in her soul.

I never believed there was a light at the end of the tunnel until I got to this point. Our lives are like a story, and only we can decide the way we want it to be told. I wasn't happy and I had to overcome all the obstacles before I got to this point; many of you are just like me, unhappy, disappointed, and dissatisfied with life. You can change that whenever you're ready. The question is, are you?

Sometimes in life, you need to be lost before you find yourself, and sometimes you can't find yourself if you aren't Lost.

And there it goes for me, the story of the rejected Queen.

The End.

I want to thank you guys so much, for sticking with me to the end of this book despite my inconsistency with updates throughout the ongoing period. You guys are the real gems.

See you on the next one. Peace.
