Chapter 54 Proof!

Chapter 54 Proof!

Adrian's POV.

A phone call to Andrew, my legal representative, was all it took to get the hospital temporarily closed.

“Find out how the pregnancy results were obtained,” he barked out to one of his employees.

I straightened my back once again, satisfied with the outcome of things.

My phone rang and I turned to see Cassandra's name on the screen.

I stared at it, contemplating whether or not to pick up. I ended up picking it up.

Her voice came from the other end, sounding enraged.

“What did you do to my bank account?” She yelled. “What the hell are you trying to do?”

“You started this game, Cassandra,” I smirked, my voice calm, body composed. “All I'm doing is taking part in your game.”

“You'll regret this! Whatever it is you are planning, I will make sure it doesn't work out.” she yelled.

I took the phone off my ears, her voice started getting on my nerves.

Without another word, I clicked the red button and dropped the phone on the desk.

I faced Andrew again. “Have my doctor come here with his equipment.”

“I don't care how many blood bags he'll draw from my skin, I need him to get proof that something was added to my drink.”

Andrew bowed and was out immediately. I called my assistant after he left.

“Call David. Tell him to find the source of the drugs added to my drink.” I paused. “He has just three hours.”

The assistant left and I was left alone in the office. I leaned on the table, taking a deep breath.

I waited patiently for everything to go according to my plan. An hour later, a knock came on my door.

“Come in,” I said.

I was sitting behind my desk, trying to go through documents but I was unable to successfully complete any task.

My assistant walked in, his face looking panicked.

“What is the problem?” I asked.

“The news sir…..” he said. “Our stocks are dropping drastically within minutes.”

This was already getting to me but I made sure not to panic. If I panic, then I won't be able to get anything done.

I picked my work tablet up, checking through the internet to see what was posted that gave my assistant's face a terrorized look.

“Cassandra Vale holding a live interview in thirty minutes!”

I dropped the tablet in anger. What else does she have to say?

I took a deep breath and faced the assistant. My face was darkened, cladded with anger.

“I get it. Leave,” I dismissed.

Not long after, Andrew arrived with the doctor.

“Have everything done within ten minutes” I placed my arms on the desk for him to draw the blood.

He did all he had to do and ten minutes later, the results were printed. Like I had expected, there was a high level of hypnotic sedative in my blood.

“I won't be holding an exclusive interview with the Denklings show anymore,” I announced. “I'll be entering Cassandra's interview instead.”

“Find out where it is,”

Andrew bowed, browsing his phone for a while before he looked at me again.

“She's also having an interview at the Denklings show,” he said.

“Let's go,” I said. “Arrange all the files I need.”

I walked out of the office, heading out of the company.

Outside, reporters still swarmed the place, wanting to know what Cassandra was going to talk about again.

I didn't look at any of the cameras nor did I speak a word to them.

The guards paved the way, preventing any of the reporters from getting to me.

Edward opened the car door and I slid in. He got into the driver's seat and drove to Denkling's show.

All proof has been secured except the proof that my drink was really spiked by Cassandra.

I gave David three hours, he has less than two hours left and Cassandra's interview would start in less than ten minutes but I trust him.

Soon, the car stopped in front of Denkling's show. Scaling through the numerous reporters once again with the help of the guards, I walked inside.

Edward asked where Cassandra was having the interview but the receptionist was not willing to say.

“I'm sorry. It's an exclusive interview. It's confidential so I'm afraid we can't tell you.”

I dragged in a deep breath, the lady's voice making frustration creep through my skin.

“Fifth floor. Interview room 7,” A masculine voice rose behind me and I recognized it. That was Denklin.

I turned slowly and he was standing tall with a smile on his face, his hands tucked in his pocket.

“Asshole, I thought your receptionist said it's confidential?” A smirk curled up my lips.

“Anything for a friend,” he winked.

“You're sure?” I laughed and moved closer to him. “Not because you want drama that would turn your company into trending news?”

“Fifth floor. The interview just started,” he smiled.

I turned away from him and headed to the elevator, Andrew getting in behind me.

I opened my phone, watching the interview that was taking place on the fifth floor like Denklin had said.

Cassandra was seated, dabbing her face with a handkerchief while sobbing slowly.

“We broke up, yes, we did,” she cried. “We met again and the bond was still there. We reconnected and it happened.”

She cried more and comments filled the screen about how complicated the situation was and how cruel her pregnancy is to my wife, how unfaithful and wicked I was and how I wasn't denying the claims because it's true.

The elevator soon stopped on the fifth floor and my feet carried me to the interview room 7.

“Open the door,” I said to the guard who stood outside.

“I'm sorry, I can't. This is an exclusive interview, you can't—” he didn't finish his sentence when Andrew shoved him aside, getting the door opened.

I walked in, the interviewer and Cassandra turning to me. Cassandra's eyes widening in shock.

Now I'll see how she can put up with those lies in front of me.
