Chap.120*The Lost Sister*
"Hush little baby don't say a word, momma's gonna buy you a mocking bird and if that mocking bird won't sing, momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring!" I sang very softly while gently running my hand through my baby's hair.
"How much more time?" my eyes landed on the half ajar door and through it peeked Desmond, mouthing me to join him in the room.
Once Roy had fallen asleep, I left the room to meet Desmond."Is he asleep now?" Desmond questioned and I nodded very sweetly at him. I was lucky to have him in my life, I finally had everything I had ever asked for.
"Finally!" I nodded my head in exhaustion.
"I can't believe he is almost 3 and his sleep schedule hasn't been any better for years. I totally get why Desmond was so concerned because Roy's mood swings had been even worse these days.
He was always troubled and more on the side of wanting attention nonstop.
"I don't know but he does tire me at times." I sat on the couch and rested my head back.
"I can give you some satisfactory massage, you know." He tilted his face to me and smiled, a sweet little smile of his that brightened up my entire mood.
"I love you, Desmond!" I mumbled while gently holding his hand and sliding my head onto his shoulder, resting in my heaven.
We have gone through a lot, together we have faced many hurdles and finally, we have found our happiness. I couldn't be more thankful for life than this.
I softly opened my eyes and then stared at his lips, we badly needed some action to remind us of our affection for each other.
As he noticed my urges, he too bent over me to press his lips against mine. I let him gently kiss me and then he slid down in between my legs, steadily taking off my panties and adjusting his face between my legs.
I moaned loudly when his lips came in contact with my private part. I closed my eyes and squirmed when he got more aggressive but then his cellphone rang and all of a sudden, he stopped.
I opened my eyes to stare at him blankly while he apologetically watched me for my permission.
"It's okay." I forced a smile onto my lips to not make him realize that I was hurt by the interruption. He got up on his feet and attended the call, slowly walking to the side.
"What? What are you saying?" His voice almost came out as a panic, there was a visible frown made across his forehead as he spaced out.
I quickly got up on my feet and found tears in his eyes, he was crying.
"What happened?" I gently held his arm and shook him when found him frozen and completely lost.
"My sist---er!" he added very softly, "She - - - -," he shook his face and then the next thing I know is him falling on the floor.
"Desmond!" I yelled when I saw him in that condition.
"Desmond!" I shouted again and that's when I opened my eyes to the surroundings I thought I had escaped.
I called the ambulance and once Desmond was taken to the hospital, he finally woke up to tell me that his sister Cierra and Hazel passed away in a car accident.
He seemed completely shattered like his soul had left his body. His entire mood and attitude changed for the next 5 days before he started to start working on getting his life together.
It's been 15 days that we lost his sister and her daughter and I was unable to see any chance of Desmond getting better. He had restricted himself to such a robotic schedule. He would go to the office in the morning and then be back to spend time with Roy, he would casually give me time but when everybody went to bed, he would leave the room and cry in his study.
For some time, I understood that he was hurting but what about me? I needed some time too, I wanted to create memories with him.
That's when Ava came back to help and support us. Her arrival was truly a breath of fresh air, even Roy loved spending time with her.
She was good with Roy and he too adored her. It gave me a little time to focus on myself and get rest.
My days had started to go well but Desmond's nighttime routine of watching his old pictures with his sister when we were all asleep just annoyed me.
"How long are you going to keep remembering her?" I stormed in on Desmond one night when he sneaked out like always.
"Ayleen!" he looked shocked like I caught him sleeping with another girl, "I am giving you everything you want, I don't show any of my pain to you, all I do is just watch some pictures at night, I can't even do that?" He didn't raise his voice because his eyes were watery, was this man for real?
He was crying over his dead sister? What kind of a weak man was he?
"You are such a weak person, Desmond," I shouted at the top of my lungs to wake him up from the delusional world he was living in. I was tired of his actions, his weak spot, and keep remembering his sister's habits.
"Ayleen! What's going on here?" Ava marched in on us, she saw that we were both glaring at each other.
"He--," I tried to speak what he did, but he dashed past me and exit the room, leaving us both behind.
"Ayleen! What the hell was that?" her voice was bitter like she didn't know how unfair Desmond was to me.
"What do you mean, are you blaming me too?" I inquired pretty aggressively, she had to roll her eyes and shook her head in disapproval.
"He lost his sister, the sister who is the reason you guys have everything today." Ava was full-on siding with Desmond, not understanding my side of the story.
"Ava! I get it, but now it's been over a month." I shouted in annoyance, she was my friend, she should back me up.
"Ayleen because nobody helped him get over. Did you even sit down with him to let him speak his heart? Did you ask him to share his pain with you?" Ava asked me, holding my hand to make me look into her eyes.
Okay, I never did because I never liked his sister. I couldn't fake concern; wouldn't it be wrong too?
"I never liked Cierra," I shrugged my shoulders and instead of answering me, she shook her head in disbelief.
She left the room after she had no answer to me. After that, Desmond pretty much stopped doing that weird thing of watching the pictures but I was still upset with how he made me feel guilty for not acknowledging his pain.
Life wasn't as colorful and cheerful as it used to be. Desmond was spending time with me but that didn't give me much satisfaction until a name popped up on my phone one day. I unlocked the screen and my eyes jumped out of their sockets in shock.
Garret: Hey! How are you?
