Chapter 42

"Guan was here today" She started and Mr Frederick immediately dropped the paper in his hands to look at his daughter with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Really?" He asked in surprise and Tasha nodded.

" Zack Josh is no threat to me or the pack, he is only an arrogant billionaire who thinks he is above all. Guess I should do well to let you know that I've already started planning an attack on him along with the pack. It is high time I had him erased from the mortal world"

"Really? Then I guess I should start mocking Guan cos her Knight in shining armour might be going down soon and she will be forced to return back to this mansion where her suffering will continue, she has no where else to go to anyways" Tasha laughed.

"I might as well need to let you know that 'might be going down soon' isn't the word but 'will be going down soon' " Mr Frederick said and the duo laughed loudly like maniacs.

Zack was in his room, on his bed. He had just finished a business call and immediately he dropped his phone, he made his way to the bathroom.

He opened the tap and started gathering water with his hands, rinsing his face with the running water.

He let out a loud exasperated sigh after he was done and reached out for the towel, Cleaning up his face with it. He got back to the room and the Guan crossed his mind.

He wanted to see her again, go back to her and have a talk with her but he doesn't want to look like a pest, he had just left a few minutes ago and it would be definitely best to let her have a little time alone with herself.

He would definitely not have approved of her to go to the damn party held by her maniac of a sister but he just couldn't stop her since it was her wish.

He left his room and went downstairs to see the maid setting the table. It was a weekend so he will be at home all day and rehearse the next scenes of the ongoing movie with Guan.

"Go upstairs and call my mate out to join me at the table" He said to the maid who looked at him for a few seconds before bowing and rushing off.

Zack doesn't know why but he just loved the way the sentence 'my mate' sounded on his lips and he couldn't deny that it was spectacular.

He would probably start calling her (Guan) that from now on, he just hopes she doesn't get uncomfortable with it.

He settled down on one of the chairs and waited for the maid to arrive with Guan but it was taking long and when the maid finally came downstairs, she came without Guan.

Zack stared at the maid, waiting for her to talk.

"Miss Guan isn't coming down. Says she doesn't have the

appetite to eat anything, tried persuading her but she refused still" She reported with her arms crossed before her and her face facing the ground.

Zack nodded. "Alright, you can go" He said to her and she made a little bow before leaving the dining room.

Zack sighed and stood up from the chair before heading up the stairs. He got to Guan's door and hesitated before knocking the door.

He didn't receive any reply after knocking for almost five times so he decided to open the door anyways. He got inside the room and met her on the bed, Guan, still seated as he had left her earlier.

"Seriously? Are you going to keep up with this? I already told you to cheer up and forget about the bitch you call a sister but here you are , seated, sulking like a kid. Are you really getting yourself stressed because of a sister who doesn't give a damn about you?"

Zack couldn't believe he had just said all that but he just couldn't hold it in, he had to just let it out all at once. He was already getting frustrated about the way Guan was sulking like a kid over what happened.

Guan looked up and Zack was surprised when he saw her face. He was speechless. Her eyes were watery as if she wanted to cry and he couldn't help but to curse himself for speaking to her in that manner.

"Hey, I'm very sorry for all I said okay? I was just frustrated and angry that you had to be worrying yourself over Tasha" He said as he moved closer to her and she let out a smile which looked pretty much like a sad smile.

"I'm sorry, okay? Just pull yourself together and forget about that bitch. You are a lot better than her and even though she got to start working for another company, it doesn't mean she is better, she is just a pompous fool and you know that " Zack added and Guan finally let out a genuine smile this time.

"You know..., you are right about all what you said. I was an idiot for getting myself all worked up because of her. I am better like you said, and I would show and prove that to her. Tasha has always hated me even though I was the one who was supposed to hate her, I know she will never change and I've finally accepted that fact" She said and Zack smiled at her.

"Now that's more like the sassy miss Guan I know" He said and they both chuckled.

"Now will you come to the dining to table to eat with me, mate?" He asked as he got down from the bed and Guan froze for a while.

Hearing him say the word 'mate' and referring to her with it seemed weird but she wouldn't dare lie that she didn't like it.

She nodded and Zack stretched out his hand to take hers and brought her down from the bed as they both walked out of the room.
