Chapter 59

Jones arrived at the garden where Logan is, drinking liquor with his father. He bowed to them before looking at them.

"Please don't tell me it's more bad news," Logan told him.

Jones shook his head. "No, actually. It's just...we've not gotten any complaints about Luc for a while. He doesn't seem to be around."

"You're saying he left?" Landon questioned.

"Don't really know. He probably relaxed. We've gone around though but we couldn't find him or them anywhere."

Logan sighed and nodded. "When will he be arriving?"

"On his way," Jones informed.

Logan nodded. "You can go."

Jones bowed then he walked away.

Logan blinked and looked at his dad. "I don't really know what to make of this, dad. Luc will never stop."

Landon nodded. "I know him more than you, son so I know he won't. What did Lisa say about your plans?"

Logan shook his head. "Nothing yet. The last time I spoke to her, she said she was still figuring it out. She probably hasn't found what they need for it."

"I hope she does. That will ride us of Luc forever. He will have no way of taking the throne from us."

Logan nodded in agreement.

"Also, your mom has been bothering me for a while about something." Landon laid out.

"About what?" Logan asked in confusion.

"Your mate, Diana. You haven't gone to get her yet."

Logan rolled his eyes away. "She's a big problem, dad. You know that. She's hard to handle."

"But she's your mate. She deserves to be here. By your side. To be your luna. We don't people to start talking 'cause she's threatening."

Logan frowned. "What gave her the right?"

Landon shrugged. "Mate issues were what took the throne away from Luc in the first place. That can be done again cause the kingdom needs its Luna. Diana won't back down and as much as she's a sore, she's your mate."

Logan shook his head with a contorted expression. "Can't believe how unlucky I am to have such a mate. Making me wish I was just too special to have a mate like Luc."

Landon just chuckled.

"Seriously, dad, you didn't see her. She's extraordinarily beautiful. Maybe I should have kept her here with me. Make her mine instead of sending her out." He uttered with regret.

"That's in the past. Let's focus on the present, Logan. Get your mate, and talk to Lisa. We need to know the next phase for us."

Logan nodded in understanding. "Yes, dad."

"You both spit it out," Julian said and turned away from the door to look at Macy and Stephanie.

"Spit what out?" Stephanie asked in pretense.

"I know you're both hiding something. Obviously to do with my brother since you've been weird toward him before he left."

Macy sighed and took two steps toward him. "Your brother is lying to us, Julian."

Julian furrowed his brows. "What?"

Macy nodded. "He told us they're all safe but they're not. Bethany is even missing, Lisa did something that made Luc lose all memories concerning Amelia. Right now, they're all going to a dangerous place in order to save Bethany."

Julian scowled in confusion. "I...I don't understand."

Stephanie shook her head. "We don't too and that's why we have to leave. We can't stay here anymore, we have to go to them."

Julian sighed, trying to understand the information. "Why would Jacob lie to us? Or he probably doesn't want us to worry..."

"We're not kids, Julian." Macy interrupted him. "Besides, there are more than one reasons why we have to leave."

"And how will you find them?" Julian asked.

"The same way we found out Jacob was lying to us. It has to do with Amelia. She's the one we'll be following." Macy answered him.

"How?" Julian inquired.

"This necklace," Stephanie answered. "It's somehow..."

"Magical." Macy completed the statement. "The orb of Light and the pendant are kinda one. I don't actually think it's even a pendant. It could be a relic."

Stephanie blinked in deep thought then her mouth fell open as she remembered what she was trying to remember. "The Light, Macy. The Light is not just an ordinary name, it's a name of a place, a nation, or ancestry. A lineage."

Macy lowered her gaze, understanding what Stephanie was saying. "They were the ones who cursed the Xondras that kidnapped Bethany."

"The owners of the orb," Stephanie added.

"And if the pendant and the orb are one then..."

"That could be where Amelia originate from." Stephanie completed with a smile on her face.

Macy let out a shaky breath. "The grimoire. I didn't really think much about it but Amelia can speak to it. It listens to her and that's not normal." She turned and looked at the pendant and she chuckled. "Now I know why the symbol is familiar."

"Why?" Stephanie inquired.

"It's magically engraved in front of the grimoire. When you place your hands on it for the first time and it accepts you, the pentagram symbol appears with some kind of bright light, then it disappears. It doesn't come out for anyone unworthy. Came out for me though, but never my sister like it knew what she'll become."

"So, the grimoire also belongs to the Light?" Stephanie inquired further.

"The orb and the grimoire were a gift to my family and it was passed down to us so yeah, I think so," Macy answered her.

At first, Julian wasn't understanding anything but he was able to put two and two together before their words started making sense.

"So what next?" Julian asked. "Those Light people seem powerful for them to own such powerful objects."

Macy looked at him. "They are. I remember my grams saying they belong to the most powerful creatures in our world, I just never understood but now I do. They have access to all the magic and spells, good and dangerous. They're witches but something else."

"Then where could they be? Why did they give their daughter out to strangers? Those strangers even knew Luc will take her away from them. They were prepared. Where the hell are they?" Julian asked the piercing question.

Dusk had turned the sky purple and silver stars peered down at them from above as they stood beneath it. Luc was standing beside a tree, his gaze set on Amelia as she talked to Richard.

Katherine did a little spell on the stacked wood in front of her and it flamed up.

"One thing about having a witch. Make things so easy." Meredith remarked with a smile on her face.

"Really? If we can find them, they could return his stolen memories?" Amelia asked Richard.

Richard nodded. "We just have to find them after we find Bethany."

Amelia smiled, feeling very happy at the news.

Luc couldn't hear them properly since they were whispering, Xander was reading out loud from the bestiary in his hands and Katherine and Meredith were talking. He doesn't even know why he should care to listen to them.

Seeing her smile and looking so happy cause of another man made him punch his fist at the tree beside him in anger. A wave of anger he didn't know sprang out of him.

Everyone looked toward him as they saw the big tree uprooted and smashed to the ground with a loud sound. It even made Luc stumble back in shock with his eyes on the fallen tree then he looked at them to see all their eyes on him.

Richard looked at Amelia. "He's angry."

Amelia just sighed, misinterpreting it. She just thinks it's due to the fact that he's having memories problem, but the tree thing is a bit excessive.

Xander stood up and walked toward Richard with the book in his hand. "I need to speak to you. Alone."

Richard walked away from Amelia and went with Xander to a dark spot. "What's it?"

"I discovered something about the Light. A big problem."

"And what's that?" Richard asked.

"They're all wiped out."
