Chapter 58
Amelia felt so relaxed, sitting on a horse at the back of Luc with her hands wrapped around him.
It was almost noon so all they did was ride slowly in order to find a good place to spend the night.
It was all still new to Amelia. Being on a horse and an adventure, not knowing exactly what they're going to meet.
"What are you?" Luc asked Amelia, deciding to start a conversation between them.
"I..." Amelia's words hung, realizing she truly didn't know what she is or who she is. "I don't know."
"White hair, gold eyes, your skin color...you're definitely something." He said, looking around the whole place as he rode the horse steadily.
He also had to admit how extraordinarily beautiful she was but not outside though.
"Since you're immortal, you must have scoured the whole...your world. You haven't come across someone like me?" She questioned.
He shook his head. "I get feelings but it's too far out of reach. I probably have, but don't remember."
Amelia blinked, wondering how much he was affected by what Lisa did. Somehow she pitied him. He was being too gloomy for her liking. She sighed and placed her head on his shoulder.
Luc's forehead puckered a bit, marveling at how unrestricted Amelia felt toward him and how serene he was toward it. Come to think of it, he wasn't sure he got her name.
He narrowed his eyes, then he remembered it. Amelia. "Mia." He muttered, getting familiarity from it.
Suddenly, he pulled the horse to a stop and gave everyone the stopping sign which they immediately did. He was looking around, getting a sense of something.
"What's wrong?" Richard asked.
"We're in another territory. Do you hear anything?" He asked.
They all looked around and Richard blinked getting what Luc meant.
"It's quiet." Meredith made it known.
Luc nodded. "It is. No sound of birds as it should be." He said, looking around for any landmark, something he should recognize.
"Are we in a very dangerous territory?" Katherine asked, not knowing if she should give in to her fear.
"Ogres." Luc figured and turned to look at all of them behind him. "It seems you guys didn't know we'll be taking the path of ogres."
Richard shrugged. "We were too fast."
Luc decided to nod. "Well, the best thing to do is not get injured. They are blind monsters but they smell blood."
"What about noise?" Xander asked. "Don't they get disturbed?"
"It's almost noon, I don't think I want to stay in a territory of giants that eat people." Amelia professed out of fear.
"They won't eat us, I won't allow that," Luc assured. "So tell me, who's holding a map?"
Xander sighed. This is the worse adventure ever.
There being quiet was enough to get an answer, but Luc just nodded. "You guys weren't prepared for this. You don't even know what to expect. It's like you're throwing yourself into the forbidden forest to suicide."
Richard just looked away.
"What exactly is this journey about? I have a thought that it's not just about my memories." Luc questioned.
Amelia shook her head. "No. To save our friend, Bethany." She answered him.
Luc furrowed his brows. "And who's that?"
"It's a friend that we made along the way. Along the adventures you forgot." Richard answered him.
"She's also one of Lisa's victims. She turned her into a creature. A Chimera." Xander made it known.
Luc frowned. "And why would she do that?"
"To kill someone important to you, thankfully you saved her and with the help of Liam and Macy, what they turn her into was neutralized," Xander explained.
Luc chuckled in disbelief. "This is new."
"The Xondras need her for a sacrifice." Richard spewed out.
"Who was she before she became a Chimera?" Luc questioned.
"A human," Xander answered.
Luc blinked, remembering something. "A Chimera for a sacrifice. Heard something like that before."
"But you don't know where." Amelia figured.
Luc shook his head. "Actually, I do." He said, remembering it clearly, although when he heard it, it was bizarre to him. Completely ridiculous since there was nothing like a Chimera except a Hybrid like him.
It turns out there is.
"Seriously?" Xander asked hopefully.
Luc nodded. "But first, I have another question."
Richard sighed. "What is it?"
"What plan do you have in helping me regain my memories? I don't think who I have in mind is who you're after." He asked.
They all furrowed their brows in confusion at his last statement. "Well, um, it's uh, the people who cursed the Xondras," Richard said, happy he was able to figure something out at the last minute.
Katherine nodded, deciding to pitch in. "Yeah. That curse can only be made by someone powerful. Whoever they are, I'm sure they're powerful enough to give your memories back."
"And who are they?" Luc asked again.
"The Light," Amelia answered since she remembered.
They all nodded in agreement. "Yep."
Luc also nodded. "Okay. Well, I know exactly where we're heading, and it's not the Xondras abode."

Lisa looked at the opened book in her workshop in awe at three feet distance since she was scared of it. The book was sitting on her counter and she chuckled. "Oh. How did you find this opened?" She asked Selena.
Selena shook her head. "I don't know and I know it also can't mysteriously open. I think it has to do with my granddaughter."
"And where's she? If she's around, she can make this job more easy for us."
Selena sighed. "Well, that's the thing. I couldn't find her. Don't know what she's up to these days."
Lisa nodded. "Well, we can't wait." She looked at the book. "It's gonna be big work but..." She looked at Selena. "You have to start skimming through it."
"I understand how big that work is. It's not like anyone can actually speak to it. We've tried and ended up doing things the hard way." Selena stated the obvious.
Lisa nodded. "With this book, we can get what the king wants. Luc better brace himself." She said with a sadistic smile on her face.
