Chapter forty four

Julian led Richard, Xander, Beth, and Stephanie into the territory of the vampires which was deep into the woods of a forest called Graman. They finally arrived at a clear path, the black sand underneath them conspicuously showing, and in front of them was a fence that went round.

They stood in front of the great fence, two hefty vampires stood in front as sentries, and there were also others standing guard around the perimeter.

"Let us pass," Julian ordered.

They looked at him, recognized him to be their youngest prince, then they bowed. "You've arrived again."

Julian nodded. "This time with my friends and for good."

The sentries nodded and opened the gate, giving them passage to enter which they did one by one.

Beth had Stephanie looked around in awe at the place. It was so vast. They were no buildings in it. There wasn't even anyone out. The place was surrounded by trees and big canopies. Many of them.

It was late at night so they couldn't see much but they wonder how it would have been if there was brightness around. The place would have been a sight to see.

"Let me guess, the canopy in the middle is where we're heading towards." Bethany pointed out the obvious.

Julian nodded. "Indeed." He spared glances at all of them. "Let's go."

They all nodded and followed him toward the canopy situated in the middle.

"Although, why am I not seeing anyone?" Stephanie had to ask.

"Cause they're all inside. No one apart from the guards and royals should be seen outside before eight. It's the curfew." Julian gave the answer.

Stephanie and Bethany both nodded in understanding.

They got to the canopy and he knocked on the wooden door. It took up to a minute before the door opened.

Jacob rose a brow at the surprise of seeing his brother. "I wasn't expecting you." He looked behind him. "And you brought friends."

Julian nodded. "Because something really bad has happened."

Jacob opened the door widely. "Come in then."

They walked in, sizing up the inside of the place. It was lightened with yellow bulbs, a few paintings and antiques decorated here and there in the room.

There was a table and three chairs around it on the left-hand side of the room. And the right was definitely a kitchen. In front of them were two different doors which are the rooms of both Jacob and Macy.

"So where's Macy?" Julian asked.

Jacob dragged a chair and sat down. "In the cave, talking to her ancestor."

"So I'm guessing she must have known why we're here." Richard pitched in.

Jacob nodded. "Didn't expect you guys to realize, but yeah. We don't know the details but we know they were taken by Logan and Lisa. They were ambushed at Frost town."

"Then how are we gonna save them?" Richard asked.

Jacob shook his head. "Don't know. Macy is the only one that can give us an answer which she's trying hard to do but don't worry, we'll find them."

Richard shook his head with a frown. "How the hell did they know he was there?"

"As I said, I don't have answers to your questions. You guys can find a way to rest the night, tomorrow morning you'll see her and you can bash her with your questions." He sighed and stood up from the chair toward his room, opened his door, and locked it.

"What's gotten him all tied up in a bunch?" Bethany questioned with a frown.

Julian sighed and went to sit on the chair. "More problems. If they can catch Finn then they can do anything."

"And there wouldn't be a way to bring the vampires back to the world and luxury they once belonged in," Xander added.

Bethany nodded. "This wasn't your home."

"Logan took over our territory, fighting us out of our home, killing a lot of us all thanks to Lisa standing by his side."

"But you guys have Macy, right?" Bethany questioned.

"Macy is ethical. Her sister deals with dark magic and that's something she'll never get herself involved in. She tried to help but it was greater than us." Xander explained.

"So we're gonna have to wait for Macy then?" Bethany pointed out.

Stephanie sighed suddenly having a strange headache. A shiver ran down her spine, her chest moving up and down in heavy, shaky breaths. "I...I think I can still feel Lia. Scared."

Julian stood up from the chair. "I'll share a bed with my brother, you girls can use Macy's room, I'll bring blankets for Richard and Xander. All we have to do is pass the night, tomorrow we'll find them."

They all nodded in agreement.

Luc groaned at the pain he was still feeling in his stomach, his face contorted in wonders as to why he was feeling such pain knowing who he was.

"Finn," Amelia called him, her heart beating painfully at the realization of not being remembered by Finn. "Finn, it's me, Mia."

Luc looked at her with a frown on his face, not having an inkling of who she was, although she was pretty, he'll give her that, but she was not anyone he has seen in his life.

He ignored her and looked at both Logan and Lisa. He stood up with a strain, looking at the blood in his hand close to his stomach. "You guys haven't had enough, uh? You have everything I own and now you try to kill me?"

Logan shrugged. "We were just testing things."

Luc scoffed in disbelief. "Testing things. On me?" He frowned, looking around. "How the hell did I even get here?"

"I guess you aren't immune to tricks," Lisa stated.

Luc glared at her, taking step toward her. "You..."

She immediately blew powder on his face causing him to stiffen. He froze for what seemed to be up to a minute while they just watched in amusement like they were watching a film to know what will happen next.

Luc's dull eyes blinked and he fell to the ground, completely knocked out.

"Finn!" Amelia yelled in horror, and went to him, kneeling in front of him. She tried waking him up but he wasn't responding.

She looked at Lisa. "What did you do to him?"

Lisa sighed in relief and walked to drop the plate she was holding on the counter. She chuckled before looking at Mia. "It's a knockout powder. Don't worry, he's not dead."

"What did you do to him?" Amelia repeated, looking all blanched in outrage. Her gold eyes glared deathly at Lisa.

Lisa blinked, finding that affecting. "Just...some things. He won't ever remember you. Ever."

Amelia sobbed. "God, why? Why the hell did you do that?"

Logan scoffed. "So, he can never get hands on my throne. Now, enough chitchat." He looked at four guards behind him. "Throw them out of the Palace."

The guards walked and one of them dragged Mia up while she tried struggling out of his hold. "Let me go. Get your filthy hands off me." She lashed out, then she yelped as she was suddenly carried and placed on his shoulder.

Two other guards lifted Luc, his hands both around the shoulders of the guards and they dragged him out of the room with the guard carrying Amelia behind them.

Getting out the gates of the palace, they let go of Luc who landed back on the ground and dropped Amelia on the ground.

Amelia glared at them as they entered back in and went toward Finn, squatting as she looked around in fear. It was late at night and she felt scared.

She was in new territory, a territory that happened to contain things that she still yet hasn't been able to fathom. She still doesn't know anything and it scared her. She's got nowhere else to go.

"Hey."

She turned and stood up, looking at a girl her age. Her black long hair was wrapped in a ponytail, she was slim and curvy. "Hi?" She answered unsurely.

"I'm Katherine. It seems you're in need of help." She said, looking at the gate of the palace.

Amelia nodded. "Yeah, can you?"

Katherine shrugged. "If I can't, I wouldn't be here. Your white hair is enough to intrigue me."

"How do I know I can trust you?" Amelia questioned.

Katherine chuckled. "Trust?" She shook her head. "I do not require anyone's trust and you don't have a choice cause you need help. I will take you to my home. It's a few walks from here."

Amelia nodded. "Thanks." She looked at Luc lying on his face. "If you don't mind, help with him too."

She looked at the guy with furrowed brows and walked toward him, squatting, and taking a good look at him. "Oh, my word!" She looked at Amelia. "Luc Stark?"

Amelia sighed, that name was still foreign to her.

Katherine chuckled and stood up. "Of course, I'll help. Let's go."
