Chapter 92 A connection
As soon as Hazel said that, her power emitted wind so strong it put Zariel far away from her with an undescribable force and made him roll on the ground.
Hazel was breathing heavily, she was still angry but her she could feel that the orbs powe had subsided.
Zariel stood up, walking back to her.
“It won Hazel. The orb one, you… zero”.
He said but she said nothing and just looked at him for a while before turning to leave.
“You said you were ready to train".
He said, causing her to stop. Hazel turned to him and immediately began walking towards him.
“You didn't have to talk about my parents. I know I don't have the best type of family, but you didn't have to trigger me with that”.
She said and a faint smile appeared on his face.
“That was just me speaking Hazel. What if something actually happens? Is this how you'll handle it”?
He asked but she said nothing.
“The goal is to get you to react without activating the orb. That way, you'll be able to put it under control.
I know your parents might be a sensitive topic which is exactly why I chose it but you need to get angry without letting your heart make the decision for you”.
He said and she was slowly calming down.
“Forgive me for speaking about them, but that was the entire purpose. I wanted to see you get angry but without having to depend on the orb”.
Hazel stayed silent for a while before she finally asked.
“What if I don't feel anything at all”?
She asked and Zariel suddenly busted into laughter.
“What's so funny”?
She asked and he shook his head, trying to calm himself from the laughter.
“I could agree for anyone else, but definitely not you”.
He said and she looked at him confused.
“You are too connected to your emotional side Hazel, you are a good person and it is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not what we need right now”.
He said and she sighed.
“But how exactly can I control my heart? It's not some sort of device I can control. Plus there is just so little time”.
She said and Zariel nodded.
“I understand you, bug I can't think of a better way to keep the orb in check. It is obvious it activates when your emotions are high. So we need to get you in control of it, not you in control of it”.
He said and now, she didn't know what to say anymore. Yes, she wanted to be able to control her heart and help her family, but this felt impossible.
“What if she actually embraces it”?
They suddenly heard Dona speak and they both turned to her.
“What do you mean”?
Zariel asked and Dona moved closer to them.
“Hear me out, Hazel's heart is a part of her, it's not something that was given to her, it is her and there is nothing we can do about that.
We can't ask her to cut of a part of her so why can't she embrace it instead? Accept it as a part of her and truly work hand in hand with it.
What if that would help her get the control she needs”?
She asked and both Zariel and Hazel stayed silent, looking like they were in deep thoughts as to what Dona had just said.
“Think about it, the orb… her heart has just been activated. Even though it is a part of her, it has been locked up for a very long time. Of course, it wasn't to feel free, it wants to explore and be in charge. But if you let it understand that you are not in any competition for who should lead who… if you let it understand that you both are one and are supposed to work together… if you let it understand that it is a part of you and not just something you want to use…
Maybe, just maybe, you can actually have it under control”.
She said and Hazel saw Zariel nodded his head.
“What you say makes quite a lot of sense. But how are we sure the orb is something that would comply?
Anyone who has the orb is automatically controlled by it”.
He said but Dona explained even further.
“Hazel doesn't have the orb, Hazel is the orb. The is the very essence of what we need to destroy this evil.
It wasn't given to her as some object or something she needed to work with, she was born with it”.
She said and Zariel nodded again.
“Fine, let's try that, let's try to truly become one with the orb”.
He said and both Hazel and Dona nodded.
“How do I do that”?
Hazel suddenly asked and they all fell silent as that was another puzzle that needed to be solved.
“How about a conversation”?
Dona suddenly asked again and this time, Hazel raised a brow.
“They always said proper communication is key right? Proper communication can fix the most broken relationships and heal the most broken hearts.
I think you should try to connect with your heart on a deeper level and have a proper conversation with it”.
Hazel wasn't sure how that was going to happen but she was more than ready to try.
“You still need to train even if your heart is in order, so I suggest you try to have that conversation with it now”.
He said and Hazel sighed, unsure of what exactly it is she needed to do before she finally nodded.
She went back into the house with Dona and they went to Lucians room.
“I'll set up a sacred sanctuary, a safe space to have a conversation and feel at ease”.
She said and Hazel nodded.
Dona soon started, setting up crystals and turning on candles.
She closed all the windows in the room and made sure there was no external light coming into the room.
She fixed the candles in a circle and arranged the crystals inside the circle.
“Go in".
She said and Hazel walked into the circle of candles. As soon as she did, the candle flames rose to a great height as they became extremely big and hot.
“Sit down Hazel, sit in front of the crystal with your legs folded, your arms placed on them and your eyes closed”.
She said and Hazel soon did exactly as she was told, sitting down in front of the crystals with her eyes closed.
She was in the midst of heavy fire but she didn't look scared, she didn't look bothered at all.
When Dona noticed Hazel was calm and already looking peaceful, she began to chant some spells silently while Hazel remained seated.
“You finally thought to see me”.
Hazel had her eyes closed but she could clearly see a huge fire burning in front of her.
“I didn't think there was a need to see you, since you and I were one”.
As soon as she said this, the fire seemed to calm down a little.
“Why are you here”?
She heard a voice coming from the fire again.
“I'm only here to let you know that I see you, I feel you, and I accept you… as my heart… as a part of me”.
She said and the flame from the fire in front of her reduced even more.
“You are not here to use me”?
The voice asked and Hazel smiled.
“We both know there is a war before us, but I have no intentions of using you, instead, I want us to save each other”.
