Chapter 53 Light in the dark
Hazel looked at her with her brow raised in confusion.
“What the hell are you on”?
She asked and Rave smiled, looking away before looking back at her.
“Oh please Hazel. It would be kidnap if I took you away from your matrimonial home now, wouldn't it”?
She asked and Hazel looked at her in realization.
“We're still at the alphas mansion”?
She asked and Rave looked at her with a knowing look.
“I can only imagine how crazy Kael is now, looking everywhere for you, not knowing you're right under his nose”.
She said but Hazel didn't give any expression to show how she was truly feeling.
“You don't have to act tough Hazel, besides, all this is only happening to him because you're in his life”.
She said and Hazel's eyes twitched a bit.
“How about you give me what I want? And maybe…”
She said as she placed her head very close to Hazel's, leaving very little space between them.
“… I'll let your man and son live”.
She said but Hazel tried her very best to remain calm.
“You can't hurt Kael, and Kael will never let you hurt Lucian".
She said and Rave smirked.
“I can't”?
She asked and nodded as she stood straight with her hands at her back.
“Maybe I can't, but having you here, I'm sure he'll do whatever I ask him to do”.
She said and smiled.
“Just imagine him killing his son to save you. Oh the thrill”.
She said excitedly and Hazel swallowed, her defenses were breaking.
“Why are you doing this”?
She asked but Rave simply smiled and looked away.
“Stop acting oblivious Hazel, we both know exactly why I'm doing this”.
She said but Hazel shook her head.
“I don't. I know you hate me, but I don't know why. I know you want what belongs to me but…”
“What belongs to you”?
Rave asked, cutting her off.
“You must think you're all that”.
She said but her brow raised when she saw Hazel smile.
“You're smiling”?
She asked and Hazel raised her head to look at her.
“Well, I believe I'm all that. Isn't that why you're so anxious to end me and take what's mine? Isn't that why you're so obsessed to the point of taking my face”?
She asked but her statement didn't move well with Rave.
Rave moved closer, raising her hand to hit Hazel but she paused midair.
And Hazel looked at her, noticing something was stopping her.
Hazel wasn't wrong.
Rave might have blocked her scent and presence, but hitting her could alert Kael.
She wasn't stupid enough to disregard how strong their mate bond is.
“Why? You can't hit me”?
Hazel asked, hoping to get something from her but Rave looked at her, dropping her hands.
“I'm not going to be swayed from the major reason why I'm here.
“Tell me exactly where the orb is, and I'll let you go”.
She said
“I don't want to”.
She said and she could clearly see Rave's face. She could tell she was loosing her patience but she wasn't just going to start speaking because she asked. Even though she didn't know where the crystal orb was or what exactly it was for, she still wasn't ready to give Rave any form of information.
Rave closed her eyes, trying to calm herself.
“I guess I'll have to get rid of something…”
She said and moved close again.
“How does Lucian sound”.
She asked but Hazel immediately tensed up.
“Touch my son and I'm going to kill you”.
She said and Rave simply smirked before walking out.
“Come back here! Rave”!
She called but she was gone.
Hazel began trying to free herself more than ever but nothing was working.
She pulled out her claws and tried to use it to cut the rope but it wasn't working.
“Bitch, she's too strong, even my claw isn't doing it”.
Dove said and Hazel sighed.
“We need to get out of here”.
She said and closed her eyes for a few seconds. When she opened it, her eyes were white. She was trying to use her magic to cut it since Rave said she also used magic but it still wasn't working.
“The hell… what did she do”?
She said to herself.
“How about I bite you”?
Dove asked and Hazel raised a brow.
“What are you even talking about”?
She asked.
“Well, Kael is supposed to feel it if you're in pain. It might help you link to his mind”.
She said and Hazel's eyes opened wide.
“That's it… that's why she didn't hit me”.
She said in realization.
“Quick, do it”.
She said and her fangs elongated as she dug them right into her own tongue. The pain was out of this world and she didn't try to suppress it.
As expected, Kael felt it and immediately tried to reach her.
“Hazel, where are you”?
He asked through the mind link and waited for a while before he heard her.
“I'm in the house Kael. Some dark room, like a basement. It's pretty dark so I can't really see it but I'm still here somewhere”.
She said but Rave suddenly rushed in and slapped her hard across the face.
Rave was so close to Lucian's room when she suddenly felt a waver in her magic. She knew Hazel was tempering with it but she didn't think too much about it until she coughed out blood.
She immediately turned back and rushed back to Hazel, slapping her hard across the face.
“What do you think you are doing”?
She asked and Hazel smiled.
“I guess you can hit me now seeing as I have already spoken to Kael".
She said but Rave smiled.
“He'll never find you, not until I get exactly what I want”.
She said, completely losing her mind.
“Well that's too bad Rave, you'll never get anything from me”.
She said and Rave's chest began moving up and down. She wasn't expecting much from this encounter, but she wasn't ready to leave with absolutely nothing.
Rave tried to move close when someone suddenly grabbed her hand from the dark.
Hazel couldn't see his face at all but her eyes went towards his hand that was holding Rave's and her eyes opened wide.
She saw it, the burn and tattoo Kael's mom had spoke about.
