Chapter 52 Hide and seek
Hazel woke up sore but extremely happy.
Making out with Kael was definitely becoming her most favorite thing to do.
She looked around and noticed she was alone in the room but as soon as she sat up, she heard the door to the closet open and Kael walked out.
He looked at her and smiled.
“You're awake".
He said and she smiled back at him before nodding.
“You were sleeping so beautifully, I didn't want to wake you up”.
He said as he moved closer to her and kissed her on her forehead before leaving a peck on her lips.
He was so happy seeing how their relationship was advancing.
When he found her, he thought it would take him at least a year to get her favor but it was just a month and they were already deep into each other's skin.
He was truly grateful that she gave him a chance to prove how sincere he was.
“Going somewhere”?
She asked as she noticed he was formally dressed and he replied.
“I have a meeting with the elders of the pack today and there is also a meeting with other alphas today. I'm not sure what it is about but…”
He paused and gave her a quick smile.
“It's going to be a pretty long day”.
He said and she nodded, understanding how serious he day was going to be.
“Are you going with Miguel"?
She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah”.
After a while, Kael left and Hazel finally found the strength to get out of bed and take a shower.
She was training with Dona when they suddenly heard something hit the window.
They went out to check, only to see a raven, with a tiny bit of paper stuck to its leg.
Hazel went out and picked up the paper, already very sure who it was from.
She opened it and read.
“Wanna meet up… bestie”?
That was what was written on the paper and she looked around, knowing deep down that Rave was somewhere very close by and just like she had predicted, she saw her standing at a distance, with a smile on her face as her eyes glowed even during the day.
Hazel jumped so high and before anyone could try to process what just happened, she landed right in front of Rave and held her by the neck, strangling her but Rave's smile only widened as she just kept looking at Hazel.
“You have the nerves to show your face here again”.
Hazel said but Rave just kept looking at her without saying a single word.
Hazel was beginning to feel she was up to something when she heard Rave speak.
“Got you”.
And just like that, they both vanished.
Dona ran after her but she was too late. The men who were with them in the training room all took out, running into the woods to look for their Luna.
Meanwhile, Kael's meeting with the elders had ended and he had just entered into the meeting with the other alphas.
The meeting began but shortly after, Miguel barged in, surprising the alphas present, including Kael.
“What's wrong”?
He asked and Miguel moved closer and whispered something in his ear. Something that made him stand up immediately.
Kael was about to walk out when he heard alpha Devon speak.
“What's wrong Kael? You look like your house caught fire”.
Kael paused for a while before he slowly looked at the man. Seeing the smile on alpha Devon's face, Kael knew he was aware of what had happened but he didn't stay any longer to exchange words as he simply dashed out of the room.
He shifted into his wolf form as it would be a lot fast that way than using a car.
Kael was running in fear. He couldn't help but hope and pray to the moon goddess that nothing happens to Hazel.
Soon enough, he and Miguel arrived back at nightshade and without wasting any time, he immediately called for the men who were in the training room. Including Dona.
“What happened"?
He asked but everyone there knew he didn't have the patience to listen to anything irrelevant.
“She disappeared with her before we could get to them”.
Dona spoke and Kael raised his head to look at her.
“I was able to track what direction they went, but I don't know if it was a decoy”.
She said and Kael stood up.
“What direction”?
“East”.
She said without wasting any time and Kael walked out with his men behind him.
Dona tried to follow but Miguel stopped her.
“What are you doing? I can help".
She said but he wasn't having it.
“Stay here and protect Lucian".
He said and she sighed, knowing he was only giving her that task because he didn't want her to follow them.
But she nodded and soon, they left.
Kael and his men searched the entire East of the woods but they couldn't find anything. He spread his men all across the woods, instructing that they search not just the east but every single area but the searched till night and yet, not even a single clue was found.
Kael was losing his mind. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't smell her out, and he couldn't feel her presence at all. It almost felt like she was not in Nightshade at all anymore.
Meanwhile, in a pretty dark room, Hazel slowly opened her eyes, looking around. She tried to move, only to find out she was tied to a chair.
“Don't struggle too much, those ropes are made from magic”.
Hazel heard Rave speak and she focused on her while her breath kept going up and down.
“What do you think you're doing"?
Hazel asked but Rave turned to look at her back before turning back to Hazel with her hand pointing at her chest.
“Me”?
She asked but Hazel said nothing.
“What does it look like? I'm here to see you”.
She said and smiled as she bent down.
“Feel at home Hazel besides… it is your house”.
