Chapter 38 Time to get stronger

Chapter 38 Time to get stronger
“Arrest her”.

Hazel said but as soon as Raina saw the guards approaching, she brought a pouch out of her pocket and slammed it on the floor, causing her to vanish in the midst of smoke.

Hazel didn't look too bothered, she just kept looking at the spot that still had reminants of smoke for a few minutes before turning to the head maid.

“Get your wound treated”.

She said and the woman bowed before she left.

“Are you okay”?

Cathy asked Hazel and she nodded.

Dona kept looking at Cathy, wondering if her mind was playing tricks on her. She was trying hard to fully understand what her vision from yesterday meant but she couldn't think of a clear answer. She has never been so confused about her own visions before.

Cathy turned to Dona and smiled.

“Hello new friend".

She said but Dona didn't respond.

Cathy looked at her as her smile vanished.

“What again? Are you still acting up”?

She asked but Dona immediately shook her head.

“My bad, I was just taken aback by how well you handled that”.

She said and Cathy smiled.

“Well, I'm not a warrior for nothing”.

She said and Dona gave a smile that didn't get to her eyes at all.

After a while, they all got in and sat on the dining table to eat.

After breakfast, Lucian went upstairs with his nanny, leaving just the three ladies in the living room.

“I haven't seen the alpha”.

Cathy suddenly said and Hazel responded.

“He went to check the southern border”.

She said and Cathy shook although she tried to mask it almost immediately.

“When did he leave”?

She asked again but before Hazel could speak, Dona spoke.

“Do you have business with him”?

She asked and Cathy smiled.

“Not really, but since I'm the head of operations for the South boarder, I should be there if he's there too”.

She said and Hazel nodded.

“He left over an hour ago”.

She said and Cathy nodded, stand up almost immediately.

“I should go check on things with him”.

She said and Hazel nodded, seeing nothing wrong with her wanting to go ahead and do her job.

After Cathy left, Dona moved closer to Hazel.

“Why did you tell her”?

She asked, taking Hazel by surprise.

“What do you mean? They work together so she should know”.

She said but Dona looked a bit agitated.

“She's not…”

Dona noticed she was beginning to yell so she paused to calm herself.
Hazel turned to her seriously.

“Dona, is there something I'm missing”?

She asked and Dona looked at her for a while, unsure if she should tell her or not since even she wasn't sure yet.

“Cathy… I had a vision”.

She said and Hazel nodded.

“Mnnn, it was about Cathy"?

She asked and Dona nodded.

“She was looking into a mirror… smiling”.

She said but Hazel squinted her eyes.

“The mirror glowed green”.

She said. Hazel could picture a little of what Dona was saying but she still didn't imagine Dona was insinuating that Cathy is Rave.

I tried looking around her environment, and I saw a full body mask”.

She said and Hazel looked at her with her eyes squeezed together.

“It was you”.

She finally said and Hazel's eyes opened wide.

“The mask on the floor had your face, I'm sure of it”.

She said and Hazel moved back, trying to digest what she had just heard.

“Are you saying…”

Hazel was still speaking when she saw Dona shake her head.

“I'm not sure, the vision is confusing, almost manipulative. I know it's surrounded by dark magic, but I can't say for sure that Cathy is Rave just yet”.

She said and Hazel sighed and nodded.

“Truly, no one can be trusted”.

She said and then turned back to Dona.

“Right, have you heard about a golden orb before”?

She asked but Dona shook her head.

“No, what does it mean”?

She asked but Hazel shook her head.

“I don't know either”.

She said and looked away, obviously thinking about a lot of things at once.

“I need to go to the training room”.

She said and excused herself, going to her room to get changed before going to the training room.

She was supposed to train with Kael but since he wasn't around, she wasn't going to sit and wait.

Putting on her gloves, she began punching the training bag, kicking and hitting it, trying to flex her muscles.

While exercising, her brain was all over the place.

“She's close, she's somewhere close, watching, waiting”.

She said as her hits became even more intense.

“She's planning, she's smart. What are you doing Hazel"?

She began questioning herself.

“Why is she ten steps ahead of you? What are you doing with all the powers given to you”!

As soon as she said the last part, the punching bag tore open.

She was breathing heavily, she was furious at how much Rave knew about her and how little she knew about Rave.

She couldn't even defend Cathy because she couldn't rule anyone out just yet.

While Hazel was trying to wrack her brain on the pieces she was missing, Kael and his men were already in the South boarder.

Looking around, Kael felt he had stepped on something. As soon as he picked it up, his eyes opened wide.

Miguel walked towards him and looked at what was on his hand.

“The seal”.

He said and Kael heaved heavily.

“They are truly in my lands, under my shadow, and I can't find them”.

He said, his voice filled with hatred and pain.

He squeezed the seal in his hand but this was an iron seal with sharp edges so it cut right through his skin, piercing right into his palm.

Cathy shifted back into her human form as she had ran over in her wolf. Breathing heavily, she looked around and saw the men.
Her eyes scanned through and she finally found Kael.

“Shit”.

She said when she saw him with his head bent. She wasn't sure what had happened, but she knew Kael was smart, she couldn't risk him finding anything that would rat her out, not yet.

“Alpha Kael".

She called as she approached him but as soon as she got close enough, he stretched out his hand and held her neck. Raising her above the ground, he began to strangle her.
