Chapter 167 Are You Satisfied?

Chapter 168 Dashiell Arrives

Dashiell?

When did he get here?

Without thinking, Aiden growled, "Tell him to get lost right now!"

However, as soon as he finished speaking, Keira suddenly raised her head.

In those hollow eyes, an unprecedented light burst forth.

"Dashiell." She murmured softly, then called out, "Let him in, I want to see him!"

"You!" Aiden spun around sharply, his eyes looking murderous.

He thought back to those words he'd heard before.

From beginning to end, the only one she loved was Dashiell.

His heart felt utterly desolate.

But so what?

Even if she saw Dashiell, what could it change?

She was his wife, and that would never change.

He slowly turned around, his back to Keira, and said to Justin, "Let him in."

The door was pushed open from the outside.

The hallway light outlined a lean, upright figure.

Dashiell walked in.

He wore a simple light gray suit, his frame thin, his face pale, but the gentle calmness in his features was like bright moonlight, giving people a different kind of feeling.

He looked at Keira first.

When he saw her pale face, his clear eyes instantly filled with undisguised heartache.

"Keira," he spoke, his voice not loud but carrying a strange warmth, "long time no see."

"It's you, it's really you." Keira's tears instantly poured out.

She was actually seeing the person she'd been thinking about all along.

But she and Dashiell were already so far apart.

Watching Keira's tears fall, Aiden's body leaning against the wall swayed imperceptibly.

So she could show such a vulnerable, dependent expression after all—only, the person receiving it was never him, never Aiden.

Dashiell slowly walked forward, stopping a few steps away from Keira, crouching down, saying softly, "Don't be afraid, Keira. I'm here."

Then he raised his head, his gaze turning to the silent Aiden, "Aiden, let her go."

Those words hit Aiden's heart hard.

His bloodshot eyes stared at Dashiell, but he couldn't say a word.

But how could he let go?

Keira had long become an inseparable part of his heart—even if the world ended, he could never let go.

"My business with her is none of your concern!" Aiden laughed coldly, "Since you're old acquaintances, I can give you some time to catch up. Tomorrow morning, you go back home."

His voice was still so arrogant, as if the person who'd just been overwhelmed by anger and pain wasn't him.

He slammed the door and left. Only Keira and Dashiell remained in the room.

But at this moment, the two people separated by over a decade had nothing to say to each other.

Keira quietly looked at Dashiell before her—clearly two identical faces.

But Dashiell didn't give off that intense sense of oppression; he always brought warmth and comfort.

"Don't worry, I won't let him hurt you anymore." Dashiell suddenly reached out, gripping her arm, "Do you remember when we were little, we planted a tree together and made a promise that I would keep protecting you when we grew up?"

Keira's tears immediately gushed out.

It really was him—he still remembered all that.

"Don't cry." Dashiell looked at her tear-stained face, his gaze full of heartache, "Keira, all these years, you've suffered."

Keira's vision blurred, as if returning to childhood, "Why did you only come back now, why?"

If he could have come back earlier, maybe she and Aiden wouldn't have been entangled for so many years, and things wouldn't have turned out this way.

But could love that had been misplaced for over a decade really be made up for?

"I'm sorry." Dashiell sighed deeply, pulling her into his arms, gently comforting her, "It's all my fault."

In the surveillance room, Aiden quietly watched the two of them together, his face growing even colder.

He clenched his teeth, "How did Dashiell get here?"

Justin lowered his head, "Mr. Coleman, it's my fault for being careless. Dashiell has been following our movements recently—he probably came here with us."

Just as he thought.

Aiden laughed coldly, "Looks like Dashiell isn't willing to be a useless invalid anymore."

Justin was startled but didn't dare speak.

Who didn't know how wealthy the Coleman family was?

Originally, all of this belonged to Aiden alone, but now there was a competitor for the family fortune—of course, Aiden wasn't happy.

Even if they were biological brothers.

"Mr. Coleman, should we use some... measures?" Justin was silent for a moment before speaking quietly.

Aiden didn't respond. His expression wasn't good; his gaze returned to the monitor.

At that moment, Dashiell left the room, going somewhere.

Right now, Dashiell went to the kitchen.

He wanted to make Keira a meal—she must be starving.

He planned to simply cook some oatmeal porridge and make two small dishes.

Although he'd been in a coma for years, this kind of simple cooking still came naturally to him.

"You're in such a hurry to steal my wife?" A cold male voice suddenly came from behind.

Dashiell paused but didn't turn around. While washing vegetables, he smiled faintly, "What do you mean, steal your wife? Aiden, you've got it wrong—you're the one who stole the wife that should have been mine."

Aiden's face grew darker. "You insist on going against me?"

Dashiell was just a powerless weakling who couldn't compare at all to him and the massive Coleman Group behind him.

"Aiden, don't be so confident." After saying this, Dashiell stopped talking and focused on cooking.

Half an hour later, a bowl of oatmeal porridge was ready, fragrant and inviting.

He'd also made simple side dishes that looked appetizing.

Keira upstairs caught the aroma and couldn't help but open the door and come out. Seeing Dashiell bringing the food to the dining table, she was a bit surprised.

But she was only surprised for a moment—after all, it wasn't strange that such a warm person as Dashiell could cook.

"Keira, come down and eat." Dashiell waved at her, his smile bright and dazzling.

Keira felt warmth flowing into her heart, but she didn't know what her feelings for Dashiell were.

They'd been apart too long, missed too many years—it wasn't like when they were children anymore.

"Thank you, Dashiell." Keira sat at the table, picked up her bowl, and the aroma rushed into her nose.

Dashiell served himself a bowl too, watching her with a smile, and helped her with the dishes.

Keira was indeed starving and ate two bowls, "Delicious, I didn't expect your cooking to be so good."

This wasn't flattery.

Dashiell's eyes brightened slightly, "If you like it, I'll cook for you often."

Keira nodded.

But from the corner of her eye, she caught a cold figure.

Aiden walked in from outside, his presence powerful and intimidating.

He stopped in front of Keira, "Are you done eating? When you're done, go back to your room and sleep."
