Chapter 89 Apology Note

Chapter 89 Apology Note

Arriving at the location, Jessica composed herself as she walked in. She tried to shrug off the feelings of fear and agitation that was thriving inside of her at the moment due to her family's oppression.

"My whole life depends on this. I can do this." She said to herself before taking a deep breath. "I have to do this..." She muttered underneath her breath.

Walking in, she wore a smile and ignoring the sudden heavy beat in her chest, walked towards Cara where she was sitting. "Good afternoon Cara." She said in a voice that was supposed to be confident.

Cara stared at the woman in front of her up and down. "Afternoon." She responded halfheartedly.

Jessica sat herself down right opposite cara and dropped her bag on the table. "I did not actually expect you to come. Have I kept you waiting for too long?" She arched her brow at her.

Cara's lips curved into a slight smile. "No. I actually just arrived. As you know, I am a very busy woman so please get straight to the point. I have things I need to attend to and they are matters of urgency."

Jessica nodded her head softly. "Allow me to order first?" She asked but did not wait for a response before calling out to the bartender and ordering a mojitto for herself. "Would you like something?" She asked Cara.

Cara stared at her without response.

Jessica smiled and turned to the bartender. "We will have the same thing."

The bartender nodded his head and turned away to answer their orders.

"Like I just said," Cara said to her, crossing her arms beneath her breast, she continued in a stern and confident composure, "I am a very busy woman so I would appreciate it if you went straight to the point."

Jessica gave a nod of her head. "It is about the other night. What happened last night was not my work, I want to assure you that."

Cara broke out in a sort of mocking laughter. She did not care that she had cut her off, she did not stop until she was contented with herself. "It was not your doing? Really? That was why you gave me that mocking smile, because it was not your doing?"

Jessica smiled softly, trying to also make it convincing. "I was not evening smiling at you. I believe that you are not dumb. You can tell that I have something against Sarah Knowles, my so-called mother in-law," she rolled her eyes and continued, "and it is something very huge which is why she is cowering in my presence.

"She was the one the smile was meant for, not you. I had my way by making her read that speech so I was proud of myself and I smiled. It is as simple as that."

It was Cara's turn to roll her eyes. She did not believe how stupid Jessica thought she was. Why would she believe something as baseless and dumb as that? It was obvious who the sinister smile was meant for and not fake interpretation was going to convince her other wise.

"Just go ahead and tell me what you want from me." Cara responded. She was not in the mood to waste any time.

The bartender returned with their drinks and dropped them on the table. Jessica reached for hers and took a sip out of it. She was feeling so nervous but she was trying to hide it.

Placing her glass back on the table, she gave a fake smile and continued. "Last night... I think we are both aware of what happened. I was so angry at Chris that the words just kept flowing from my mouth and I did not even realize who I was talking to.

"By the time everything became clear to me, it was already too late to revoke my words. Romeo should understand that there are things we say that we do not actually mean. Not every single word that comes out of our mouth is what we mean."

Cara gave a slight nod to what she said. "True. So can you get straight to the point? Are you here to apologize to me or do you want me to pass an apology across to Romeo?"

Jessica shook her head. "I'm not trying to pass an apology although I want to apologize for my... Misbehavior," it took a lot of effort for her to say the word misbehavior but she continued without a pause, "the other night, I was not really paying attention."

Cara smiled. "Alright. I have heard you but I want you to know that any apology should be directed to the Armani family and company but not me."

Jessica arched a brow. "Are you not his woman? Should you not be able to relay any message to him? It is a personal message or is it not?"

"It is not personal since you have a to submit or rather tender a written apology for your immoral behavior or do you not understand?" Cara responded to her question with one of her own.

Jessica clenched her fist in anger, gritting her teeth, she forced a smile. "I understand. Anyway, the main reason I asked you to meet with me today is because I want to you to help me talk to Mr Armani not to pull out his sponsorship in the Knowles family company."

Cara was silent, waiting for her to continue what she was saying or add depth to the message she was trying to convey but that was it. "Is that it? The reason you called me?"

Jessica nodded her head. "Yes. I want you to talk to your boyfriend for me."

Cara let out a soft chuckle. "You want me to talk to my boyfriend? No, you disrespected Romeo Armani, not my boyfriend. So I can only advice you on what you are going to do. You should find a way to officially apologize to the Armani household for your disregard and disrespect."

Jessica did not believe her ears.
