Chapter 71 A Themed Party
Cara had a smile on her face. Winter had come and the weather was perfectly chill. Days had gone by in peace and she could finally escape from the stress of her work and meet up with her new friends who treated her no differently even though she wasn't rich like either of them.
Andrew tossed her a can of chilled coke and sunk into his soft sofa. "You know I had a feeling that those two lovebirds would be the last to join us." He said to Cara.
"It's always them." Jastrow added.
"Hey, you can't blame them," Cara said with a smile. "They have a wedding to prepare for."
"True but the wedding isn't today so why aren't they here yet? Just one day to plan the perfect surprise, we are all busy with our jobs so they should not use the wedding as an excuse." Andrew explained.
Cara simply smiled. Wedding preparation was always more grand than outsiders thought. They couldn't know the stress unless they were the ones getting married.
So she didn't bother to raise an argument to contradict Andrew's conclusion. Since she had learnt through her own experience then he would learn through his whenever he decided on getting married.
Though she felt it was a long time from now.
She opened her can of coke and drank from it. She had been craving something sweet for a while but was always too drained after work to go grocery shopping.
The sweet liquid slid down her throat and chilled her lungs in a pleasing manner.
The door pushed open and Camilla walked in with Rick by her side. "Hey guys, sorry we are late." She voiced.
"Speak of the devils." Andrew said. "You should really learn to stick to time, you have been late all through our meeting!"
"It's alright Andrew," Cara spoke softly, not to overstep her power. "We didn't wait long before they arrived. Come sit guys."
Rick signed softly with an appreciative smile on his handsome face. "Thank you so much Cara, you are the only one that is always on our side."
Camilla hurried to Cara, pouting like a baby who was excited to see her mother, and threw her arms around her while sitting next to her. "Thank you so so so much. Andrew is always complaining. He's the Grinch. For real."
"I would rather be the Grinch than Santa Claus." He expressed with a roll of his eyes. "Noe please, since we are all here, let's focus on why we are here."
"Why are you always so serious whenever it's Romeo's birthday?" Camilla asked him with an arched brow. "Are you like his secret lover or something?"
Andrew chuckled softly. "No offense Cara but I am Romeo's first love. Everyone knows that. He loved me first before any woman and I am afraid to say that he is still very much crazy about me."
They all broke out in a chorus of laughter.
Andrew pointed an accusing finger at all of them. "You see this is why he loves me more than all of you, I am the only one that takes his birthday seriously."
"Take it easy mate," Jastrow spoke up. "We all know that Rick is Romeo's best friend and Rick will always be the one he loves more."
"Hah!" Andrew barked a laugh. "Rick? You think Rick is Romeo's best friend? You crack me up bro. Romeo and I met first, we bonded first, everything we did together, I was first which made our bond stronger. Strong enough to overpower any kind of love. I'm even worried he loves me more than his parents." He bragged.
"He loves Cara more than he could ever love you." Camilla stated.
Andrew opened his mouth to speak but Rick cut him off. "Alright, alright, whoever Romeo loves first is for him to decide. We are here to plan a birthday surprise aren't we? So please let us stick to what we came here for."
"I second Rick's decision." Cara said, "Romeo and I have plans tonight."
"Alright, fine. Let's pick up where we stopped last time. Ideas. That's what we need." Andrew relaxed into his seat as he spoke.
Camilla was the first to speak. "I thought about it and I was thinking maybe we could throw a themed party for him. Maybe his favorite movie or something."
"What will you do if his favorite movie is prn?" Andrew arched his brow.
"Geez Andrew, nobody's favorite movie is prn." Rick rubbed his temple. "Also, I think a themed party could work out. He likes Marvel movies, especially Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr."
"Firstly," Andrew started. "We know who played iron man so you don't have to tell us his name and secondly, he isn't twelve, you want to throw an iron man themed birthday party for him?"
"I think it would be hilarious but in a good way." Cara suggested.
"My words exactly." Jastrow added. He sat up in his seat. "See, we all know Romeo is wealthy so it makes us think that he got everything he wanted as a kid but that's not true. He was born into a wealthy family who acted like royalty and was treated no less than a prince.
"Only the things his family expects of him was all that matters. He never got to enjoy marvel movies as a kid, he just started watching them and he really loves them. I think we can take him back to his childhood and make him feel like an eleven year old who actually got a superhero themed birthday like other kids." He explained.
They all fell for his words, smooth and valid. Even Andrew hated to admit it but he was loving the idea.
He had celebrated some birthdays of Romeo with him and it was always a fancy gathering. Maybe a change would actually be nice.
"I think if we do this," Cara stated with a soft smile on her face. "It will give Romeo a chance to actually breathe again and unwind. I know he will love it."
She was grateful to see them all nod in agreement.
