Chapter 47 Romeo Loses His Cool
Cara stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, wondering when the courage to go back out would fill her up. Her reflection stared back at her and she let out a soft sigh.
She kept asking herself, why would Romeo do something like that? It was caring, yes, but also quite embarrassing for her.
How would she face him? How was she supposed to go back out there and pretend like she had only excused herself to powder her nose?
How would he look at her now?
She let out a sigh. "Maybe I can pretend to have a work emergency and then go back home to bury myself under my blanket for the rest of my life!" Another devastated sigh left her mouth.
That would be no use because knowing Romeo, he wouldn't let her go.
"Alright!" She suddenly stood with her back straight and her chest forward. "There's nothing to be ashamed of about this! Own it! You're a woman and it happens! Obviously, Romeo being a sophisticated man will not make mentions of this or try to use it as a joke to embarrass you so there's no need to be scared or worried. Let's do this!"
She nodded and though her heart was pounding in her chest, she kept her head high and walked like a Queen.
Her shoulders fell as her eyes landed on a set of beautiful brown. He let out a soft chuckle and she felt the butterfly in her stomach flutter.
He looked so hot when he smiled, his laughter was like a seductive charm taking control of her mind.
She found herself looking him up and down, his tanned skin and Asian handsomeness was his uniqueness. Then his rich taste in clothing and jewelry were just extras.
She turned to realize Romeo standing next to him and he too was smiling. She thought she had seen an angel in the brown eyed man but then she remembered Romeo.
If Romeo's company was an angel then Romeo would be a god.
The way his dimples sunk in when he smiled, his laughter filled her ears and filled her up with joy.
When he turned, his emerald eyes landed on her and she felt like she was floating amidst the clouds. 'Damn! He's so handsome!' She thought to herself. It was impossible to look that good. She thought it was unfair that one man looked as good as that.
Romeo wasn't just handsome, he was hot! The kind of hot that made a woman drool.
"Oh hey, you're back." He smiled at her as he approached her.
Sue blinked and fell from the midst of the clouds. Unfortunately, she was back on earth. "Yeah, uh..." She cleared her throat. "Sorry I took too long, I was uh..." She fell silent realizing that she was about to explain what she was doing in the bathroom.
Romeo, who was still all smiles, waved his hand. "No, it's fine. As long as you're good." He said, expecting a response. But she just stared at him. His smile drained. "You're good right?"
She blinked. "Huh? Oh! Yeah, good, I'm--I'm good. A hundred percent." Her lips curved into a smile.
"Awesome." His smile was back and she hated to say it but she was grateful for it. He continued. "While you were in there, I asked Darla-- she's the lady attendant-- I asked her to purchase some drugs to help soothe any pain you might be feeling.
"I left it in the car so you can check it when we are back on the road. Oh and I purchased some things for you too, is there anything else you think you might need?"
She wished she could disappear at that moment. He wasn't making fun of her situation, it was worse. He was talking casually about it.
Wasn't that supposed to be a good thing? Yet it made her feel uncomfortable that he even knew about it in the first place.
"Is this your friend, Romeo?" Andrew asked. "When are you going to introduce me?"
"Oh," Romeo took her hand without her notice and led her to where Andrew was standing. "Cara, this is Andrew Malhotra, Andrew, Cara Smith." He pointed at them as he introduced them to each other.
"Pleasure to meet you beautiful." Andrew gave one of his killer smiles. The most seductive as he stretched out his hand to shake her.
Cara freed her hand from Romeo's and took Andrews. "Pleasure is all mine."
Romeo didn't take it to heart though because he had taken her hand without her notice. Subconsciously though if he were to be honest.
He smiled. "She is the CEO of the Smith's company."
Andrew looked impressed. "Oh wow, beautiful and smart. I like that. I run my own sales company actually, we sell cars and bikes and buses too. It's called breeze, you might have heard of it."
Cara's jaw dropped. Breeze as in the real deal in car dealing? They were called breeze apparently because their vehicles moved like the breeze. Smooth and as fast as you want it to be.
"No way!" She exclaimed with a light chuckle. "Wow, I've heard. It's such an honor to meet you."
"Hearing that from a beauty as you, I feel like I have achieved something in my life." Andrew smirked and Cara blushed.
Romeo was no longer smiling. He knew his friend for the flirt he was and expected him to be that way but he hated the fact that Cara was falling for his charms.
Her cheeks were so red like the sun had burnt her and it made him furious because only a few words from Andrew had done that.
"Maybe some day," Andrew continued. "You can come over and I'll show you around. You'll be my VIP guest." He winked.
Cara blushed and nodded her head. "I'd like that."
Romeo cleared his throat loudly. "Why don't you just buy your drinks--"
Cut off by the sound of Cara's phone as it started ringing, he grunted loudly. "Who the fck is that?!"
All eyes fell on him.
