Chapter 8 Crimson Red

Shrey's eyes light up hearing this, as for some time she will be safe now. She looked towards Principle and gave her a flying kiss; her professor was facing her back, so she wasn't able to see Shrey's gestures.

"Let's go, Mr. Hemsworth, this way." Shrey said excitedly, "Oh, professor! Sorry, that I missed your class, but I was asked by the principal to meet you, so I had to leave. I hope you will mark me present for your lecture.”

Shrey said with a tight lip smile and then she turned to beg the principal to save her this time with her gaze.

The principal slightly nodded and said, "Yeah, she's correct; I recall requesting you to bring Shrey to me as well; thanks for doing it."

Shrey smirked at the principal and moved forward, followed by George, who sighed audibly and said nothing.

He was getting late for his important building, yet today he decided to keep all work aside and rest for the day, as work can be paused but rest is the least prioritized subject for him.

"I'm sorry," Shrey said apologetically and bowed her head, looking down with fingers intertwined. George looked at her small figure, and instead of following behind, he walked next to her to better observe her.

"For what?" is asked. He knew, or we can guess, that she might be sorry for her morning act, yet he wanted her to elaborate on her mistake and apologize sincerely, as this incident concerned someone's life.

Shrey pouted and sighed, huffing, "I'm talking about the morning incident; I shouldn't have run on the street this way to chase my friends." George just made a hmm sound in his reply.

Shrey was stunned by this behavior; she expected that Mr. Hemsworth would apologize on his driver's behalf as well, but instead he showed her attitude, and instead of following her, he is now moving forward, as if he knew the way in and out of the college.

"that's it?" Shrey asked, but her focus was on George's face and not on the floor, so when George turned around, she tripped over the mistaken heel of George's foot.

But in no time, George got a hold of her body and held her so that she didn't fall straight on her face. "Wow, wow," Shrey said and stood, jerking her clothes to remove any creases from them awkwardly.

"Shouldn’t you be sorry too for driving fast?" said Shrey, looking everywhere but him, as the closeness a few seconds ago between them flushed her and her ears now were crimson red.

"It wasn’t me who was driving, though, and just 2 minutes ago I saved you." "How come?" Shrey asked suspiciously, scrutinizing her gaze at him:

"If I had refused to have a college campus tour with you, you would have been the target of that professor, and if I am not mistaken, you either bunked your class or didn’t do the task assigned by her." George said this while lessening the proximity between them and looking straight into her eyes, which was quite intimating.
