Chapter 77 - Jason’s Promise

Jason POV:

"How did you marry a person like Jason? He is the one who killed my sister for not surrendering to him. He is the one because of whom I lost my virginity. He forced me many times. He made my life hell," Veronica said.

Eva looked at me with tears in her eyes. It's not true what she said.

"Is it true?" she asked me.

"No!" I said.

"Eva, I never forced any girl. It's true that her sister was dead because of me, but I killed her because of her betrayal. If you can't trust me, I can't do anything," I said and started my car seriously.

I went home leaving her because I can't bear if she didn't trust me. I didn't want to miss my Eva, but I don't know what decision she will take now. Nothing is alright between us right now. Now again my past knocked the door to create conflict between us.

If I knew it before that Eva will come into my life, I would have never touched any girl. What should I do now?

I heard the door opening sound and turned back. Eva stood there looking at me angrily. She is so angry with me. I have no mood to convince her now. At the same, I am also angry. Because nowadays she is misunderstanding me for everything. I want my Eva back who loves and understands me unconditionally.

"Why did you leave me at the party alone?" She asked me.

"I have no mood to talk now, Eva. Just leave me alone," I said.

"Jason, please..."

"Just shut up and leave me for some time," I shouted this time.

Her eyes filled with tears.

"Eva, I didn't mean to hurt you," I said seeing her in tears.

She turned to leave, but I held her hand and turned her towards me. I wiped her tears.

"Please, Eva, don't cry. Whenever I see tears in your eyes, I feel as if I failed as a husband. When I hated you and had hurt you intentionally, you tolerated everything and gave love to me. You never judged me and always understood me. But now when I am loving you truly and wants you, you do not understand me. You are finding fault with everything I do. I did wrong, but I did that too only to make you happy," I said.

She slapped me.

"Are you mad? Who told you that I didn't understand you? Why did you return from the party in the middle? Do you think that I will trust Veronica besides you? I am angry with you because you never understand me. Whenever you are in a problem, you avoid me. If anyone blames you, you will immediately think that I will trust them instead of you. I hate you. You never understand me," she said, crying.

I hugged her. I made her sit on the bed, and I sat before her on the floor keeping my head in her lap.

"Eva, I never thought to avoid or leave you. But happiness never stays with me. Not only with me but the people who love me. Everyone knew me as Jason Heymonds. But I am not their son. They adopted me. They always loved me a lot. But they ended up by committing suicide. Maya too loved me. But her life got spoiled. Now you love me. I didn't want that to happen to you too.

On that day, through your words, I understood how much you love children. On that day evening, I went to the doctor for our reports. When I came to know that I can't fulfil your wish, I thought that I should make you leave me, So that you will be happy.

When I said those words to you, It almost killed me. When you left me, I became totally mad. Eva, I never meant to avoid you, but I always wish to give you all the happiness in the world. So I never shared my pain with you. I didn't know why but I choose to be alone in my grief. Sharing happiness with the loved one will be sweet. But how can I share my pain and tears with you? I knew well that you would be more worried than me if anything happens to me. I can't bear that. I want you to smile always. Please understand me, Eva.

I didn't make decisions for you, but I decided to give you happiness. For your happiness, I am even ready to give away my life. Please forgive me, Eva," I said with tears. I didn't want to lose her.

She caressed my hairs.

"Jason, I understand you. But I want you to understand that I never leave you until my last breath. You want to give me happiness. But do you know where does my happiness lie? In your happiness. When you are happy and trusts me completely, to share everything including your sorrow, I will be happier.

I am your wife. I took oath at the time of our marriage that I will stay with you in every happiness and pain. I want to be your support when someone blames you. I want to stand by you when you are in pain. I want to wipe your tears and make you smile.

Jason, the bond of any couple becomes stronger only when they have no secrets and shares everything with one another. I want our bond to be stronger forever. Please give me a chance and trust to comfort you in your every pain," she said softly.

I have seen many couples who have got separated into troubles as they can't stand with their mate in trouble. But my wife is asking me to share my troubles with her and to give her a chance to support me. Though I have done many sins, God gave a wife like Eva who cares for me and understands me well.

I got up from her lap and saw her face which is wet with tears. I wiped her tears and held her both hands.

"I promise Eva, I never hide anything from you and will share everything with you. I love you," I said kissing her forehead.

"I love you too," she said smiling.

"How do you know Veronica? Why is she so rude to you? I mean I noticed grudge in her eyes towards you," she said slowly.

I sat beside her and hugged her from side.

"I will tell you everything. Her sister was the reason behind my change into a beast and where I lost respect towards women," I said.
