Chapter 71 - You are mine

Eva POV:

I am sorry, Jason. I didn't mean to hurt you. I too still love you, and you are right, I am yours forever.

I made myself busy with work. Roma called me.

"Hi, sweety!" Roma said.

"Tell me, angel," I said with a smile.

"Do you have any plans for your birthday tomorrow?" She asked me.

My birthday? I didn't even remember that.

"No!" I said in a low voice remembering my birthday last year where I was with my Jason. I wiped my tears.

" Ok then tomorrow we are going to celebrate it at our home, and we have a surprise for you," she said.

"But I am not interested," I said.

"I am going to call your love too. I think now you will get interested. What do you say, baby?"

"Roma, please stop all this," I said.

"It's not only my plan, dear. Everyone in our family decided to celebrate your birthday tomorrow. Convince aunt if you want," She said disconnecting the call.

Next day, in the morning, I got ready and went to the church. I got down from my car, and I found Jason there. I remembered previous birthday celebration and his surprise to me. He came towards me.

"Happy Birthday, Eva. A small gift for you," he said.

He held my hand and took a ring from his pocket. I remembered choosing that ring in the past, but he refused to buy it as he didn't like. It's a ring with white stones in "X" shape on the square shaped red stone. I it, but he bought a ring which is costlier and loved by him.

"The ring which you liked the most."

He said trying to make me wear that ring.

I took away my hand.

"My likes were changed long back. However, I accept no gifts from strangers" I said, but he pulled me closer.

"No more argument, baby, or I will kiss you right here. It will be hot news in media tomorrow. Only our close friends know we are a couple. So imagine the gossips which will be created by media, if I kiss you here," he said rudely.

He left me, and I found that ring to my finger. When did he put that ring to me? I looked at him. He smiled.

"Don't try to take it away or......"

Before he could complete his words, I took the ring from my hand and threw it on him.

"Don't try to scare me, Mr Jason. I am not your wife Eva to scare for you and follow your words. If you have lots of money, donate it to poor people. But don't try to gift me unnecessarily. At least now, after going away from you, let me be happy and live as per my choice," I shouted at him.

"I will surely make you wear this ring by evening, baby. Within two days, I will make you come to our home. Be ready. I thought to request you, but it's not working. Let me follow my ways," he said threateningly and went off in his car.

I reached home after completing the prayer. In the evening, guests came, and I noticed Jason. His face is still serious making me uncomfortable.

Rio sighed me to relax.

"Eva, I am going out. I will be back within just half an hour," Rio said going out.

Party started, but Rio didn't return. I remembered Jason's words saying that he will use his ways to get me back home.

"Roma, call Rio once," I said.

We tried calling him, but he didn't receive the call. After forty-five minutes, Rio returned. Thank God Jason didn't harm Rio.

"Where did you go till now?" I asked Rio.

"Hey, cool, Eva. I went to bring a surprise for you," Rio said smiling.

"What was that?" I asked.

He called someone and showed me. I was beyond happy. All of my graduation classmates were there. Rio invited everyone inside, and we started cake cutting. Rio's parents and Roma kept cake to me. Rio gave the cake to my hand and wished me. My friends surrounded me and blasted paper bomb and sprayed snow on me. Then, one by one kept cake for me. I have unfortunately looked at Jason. He is damn serious. Only then I realised that few among my friends were men, and I shook my hand with them as they wished me.

We are enjoying here, and Rio moved away as he got a call. I found that he is a bit tense. I excused myself and went to Rio.

"Rio, Is everything ok?" I asked.

"The income tax officers came for a raid on my company. Though we cleared the tax, they are filing the case. I need to go. You take care," Rio said.

"But..."

"Don't worry. We had done nothing wrong. So everything will be fine," Rio said and went off to his office.

I turned back, and my head hit someone. When I looked at the person, it's Jason. I tried to go away but stopped with his words.

"If you want to save the reputation of your friend and his family, wear this ring right now saying sorry to me for being rude in the morning or be ready to see Rio getting arrested in the income tax raid," Jason said.

I looked at Jason. I couldn't believe his words. Is it he who had done this for satisfying his ego? How could he be so cheap? I felt to slap him but remembered Rio and his family who helped me in many ways till now.

I wiped my tears.

"I am sorry!" I said to him, and he took my hand and made me wear the ring.

"You shouldn't remove this ring ever, or I will never hesitate to do anything," He said, and in front of me, he called someone to stop the raid.

Within five minutes, Rio called me saying that everything is fine.

"Be ready to come to our home within two days, and now I am leaving. Happy Birthday and remember, you are mine and will be mine forever," he said and kissed me on my forehead.

I didn't talk to anyone and went directly to my room.

Why did he behave like this? What kind of love is it? How could he threaten me in this way? What is he going to do within two days to make me go to his home? I hate you. I hate you, Jason.

I started crying remembering his words.
