Chapter 67 - Jason’s Distress

Jason POV:

Eva left me. When she went off, I called Roma.

"Roma, Eva left home," I said.

"Do you want Rio to marry her, Jason? After all, she loves you a lot," Roma said.

"Please, Roma, take her carefully to your house and don't let Rio or Eva know this. Take care of her," I said.

"Sure, Jason!" Eva said.

I went following her in the car. She cried and sat on the stairs of a house. I felt as if someone squeezed my heart. I am sorry, Eva. I am sorry.

I didn't deserve you. You should live your life happily. I am not suitable for you. I can't keep you happy. I know I will surely regret what I am doing now. Suddenly Eva fainted on the road. I went to her and kept her head in my lap.

"Eva, look at me," I called her.

She didn't reply. I kissed her on the forehead. I am sorry, Eva, for troubling you this much. I know you are perfect and never betrays me. I do not doubt you. I already know that you didn't kiss Rio and it happened accidentally. I always trust you, but I have no other option except to hurt you. I did all this to keep you happy forever. I hugged her tightly. Then I heard a car horn, and as Roma already messaged me saying that they will be there within five minutes, I left her there kissing once again on her forehead.

She held my hand without leaving me. Though she is unconscious, still she was unable to leave me. For a minute, I felt to take her home with me and apologise to her hugging her feet for my hurtful behaviour. But no, I can't keep her happy. Leaving me makes her life more joyful. I slowly freed my hand and got into my car.

Rio and Roma came there. Seeing Eva in that situation, Rio became emotional. It means he loves her a lot. Surely she will be happy with him. He lifted her in his arms. I clutched my fist unintentionally as I can never see anyone touching her. But it's all my mistake.

I enquired about Rio. He is perfect for her. He has no bad habits and affairs like me. He is decent and not arrogant. He will give her all the love and happiness which she never received from me.

I went home from there confirming she is safe. I went inside my room where I had a lot of memories with Eva. I took away the bedsheet. I threw everything here and there. I cried out loud. I didn't miss only my wife. But I lost my happiness and hope of my life forever. I know she never forgives me. However, I won't let her know the reason behind my behaviour forever.

I sat on my knees on the floor crying loud. I felt someone patting on my shoulder. I raised my head up. Maya stood before me.

"Maya, why did come here?"

"What is this Jason? What happened to you?" she asked, hugging me.

I broke the hug and sat on the bed.

"Jason, why did you send Eva out of your home?"

"Why did you come here?" I asked her.

"I came to know that Eva left you. So I came here…"

"So you thought you could replace Eva in my life? It never happens. Only Eva has the place in my heart. No one can replace her," I said with anger.

"Jason, I have no such intentions. I just came here as your friend. Nothing more than that. When you love her that much then why did you insult her and hurt her so much?" she asked me.

I closed my eyes remembering what all I did with Eva to break her heart and make her leave me.

I told Maya the reason behind my stupid and harsh behaviour.

"What's wrong with you, Jason? Eva loves you so much. I am sure she won't leave you for that reason if you have said this frankly to her," Maya yelled at me.

Even I know that my Eva won't leave me if I have said the reason for her frankly. That's the main reason I didn't reveal it to her and tortured her so much. I know how much it hurts her to hear those words from me. I used many words which had broken her completely. I remembered offering money to her for spending a night with me. I know that's the only way to make her leave me.

I am sorry, Eva. I am sorry. You are always pure and innocent. I love you so much. Tears started flowing from my eyes. I know the moment my Eva left, Tears will be my only companion.

"Jason, I read somewhere on the internet that there is the treatment for this. Why don't you give it a try?" Maya asked, stopping my thoughts.

"What did you say?" I asked her again.

If it's true that I can get treatment for this then surely I will take that before it's too late. I know already it's too late as Eva already left me.

We both searched on the internet, and finally, we found that treatment was given for my problem in Germany. I immediately called and spoken to doctors over there. They said treatment takes six months time.

"I will call, Eva. Let's tell her everything," Maya said.

"No, Maya. Let me try the treatment first. If it cures, then I will do anything to bring her back. I will sacrifice everything for her forgiveness when I am back. Till then you take care of my business and promise me that you will never tell this to Eva," I told Maya.

I took the promise from her and packed my luggage to go to Germany. I missed my Eva so much. I tried calling her from a new number. But her mobile was switched off. I called Roma, and she said Eva is doing well. She also said that Eva took over her company and restarted her parents business. I felt so happy hearing that. But I didn't understand why did she quit her profession.

I returned to India completing my treatment. I felt happy as treatment was successful. I want to meet my Eva. I am sure that Eva will be angry at me. But I am ready to bear anything to bring my sweetheart back into my life. If she scolds me, it's ok. If she beats me, it is also ok for me.

I know she was broken because of me. I need to fix her again. Even today, I remember her face full of tears while leaving me. I should cool her slowly. As she said, I exceeded all my limits and showed my worst behaviour. She may understand if I tell her the truth. But will she allows me to talk? I should try first.

I went to the office and checked the files. I called Maya.

"What the hell is this, Maya? Why did we lose all these projects? Why didn't you inform this to me?" I yelled at her.

"Jason, first cool down. Many things were changed within these six months. We lost all these projects to a new company," she said to me.

"New company? How could a new company own all projects at once?" I asked her.

"You will be more shocked if you come to know who was the head of that company?" she said.

"Who?" I asked.

"Eva Raymond!" Maya said making me more shocked.
