Chapter 96 Dispute
"Getting married?" Olivia found it amusing. "Well, I wish you all the best in making that dream come true soon."
She didn't want to waste any more time with Windy and tried to step aside to leave.
Just then, Clara approached with a few friends, clearly having noticed the argument.
"Olivia, what's going on here?" Clara looked at Windy, her eyes full of scrutiny.
Seeing this, Windy quickly dropped her earlier aggressive attitude and put on a pitiful expression, grabbing Clara's arm. "Clara, you don't know, she's not a good person. Back then, she was kicked out of the company for her bad behavior. Now she's suddenly back, deliberately provoking me here. I don't know what she's up to."
As she spoke, she secretly glanced at Clara's face, hoping to gain her support.
Clara frowned and turned to Olivia, but there wasn't a hint of disdain in her eyes. Instead, there was admiration.
"Bad behavior? I think Olivia has an outstanding presence and speaks with grace. She doesn't seem like that kind of person. Besides, I just had a chat with her, and I found her very talented. Her understanding of design is quite unique. She's a rare talent."
These words made Windy's face turn even uglier. She hadn't expected Clara to defend Olivia.
"Clara, don't let her fool you! She's a scheming woman. Back then, it was her who..."
"Enough." Clara cut her off, her tone carrying a trace of displeasure. "Windy, you can't just say things like that. I trust my judgment. Olivia is not the kind of person you're describing."
Then she turned to Olivia with a gentle smile. "Don't let her ruin your mood. Let's talk about potential collaborations another time."
Olivia nodded. "Thank you, Clara."
Windy stood to the side, her face dark with anger, burning inside but not daring to lash out in front of Clara.
After Clara left, Windy immediately stepped close to Olivia, lowering her voice with a threatening tone. "I'm warning you, Olivia. Luca and I have already set a wedding date. Be smart and get out of here. Don't show up in front of us again! Otherwise, I can't guarantee what I might do to you or the people around you!"
"Wedding date set? Well, congratulations then," Olivia said, almost laughing. "But where I go and what I do is none of your business. If you're so sure of yourself, maybe focus on keeping Luca instead of coming after me. After all, you know better than anyone how you got him back then. If the truth comes out, you're the one who'll be humiliated."
Windy's heart skipped a beat at her words, her eyes flickering with unease.
She knew it wasn't her who saved Luca back then. If that got exposed, Luca would never look at her again.
"You... don't talk nonsense here!" Windy shouted, trying to sound tough despite her guilt. "I'm done wasting words with you. Watch yourself!"
With that, she turned and walked away quickly, her steps hurried, as if escaping something.
She needed to find Luca right away and make sure he hadn't seen Olivia.
Watching Windy flee in a panic, Sophia couldn't help but speak up. "This Windy is just too much. She's really good at twisting the truth."
Olivia smiled, not bothered. "It's fine. People like her aren't worth getting upset over."
Clara came back and patted Olivia on the shoulder. "Don't take it to heart. Some people just can't stand seeing others do better than them. I can tell you're talented. If you ever need help, feel free to come to me."
"Thanks again, Clara," Olivia said, feeling a warmth in her heart. "It's getting late. I'll head back now."
"Alright, be safe on the way," Clara nodded.
In the car, Sophia couldn't help but ask, "Miss Ross, is it true what Windy said about her and Luca getting married soon?"
Olivia shook her head. "I don't know, and I don't care."
To her, Luca and Windy were a thing of the past. Right now, she just wanted to focus on her career and take care of Leo.
Seeing that Olivia didn't want to talk about it, Sophia didn't press further.
The car moved smoothly. During a red light, Sophia secretly took out her phone and sent a quick message to Jason, briefly explaining what happened at the party.
She knew Jason cared a lot about Olivia and would be worried about her.
When they got home, it was almost 10 p.m.
Olivia gently opened the door. A small lamp was still on in the living room.
Emma was sitting on the couch watching TV. Seeing Olivia return, she immediately stood up. "Liv, you're back! How was it? Did you run into that jerk?"
Olivia changed her shoes, sat down on the couch, and sighed tiredly. "Yeah, I did. And Windy too."
"What?" Emma exploded. "That awful woman was there? Did she do anything to you?"
Olivia briefly recounted what happened at the party.
Emma was fuming as she listened, slamming the couch. "This Windy is getting more shameless by the day! It's been years, and she's still stirring up trouble! And Luca, that idiot, must be blind to fall for a woman like her!"
"Don't get mad," Olivia said, pulling her arm. "I'm not even upset, so why are you? To me, they're just strangers. No need to let strangers ruin my mood."
Seeing Olivia's calm demeanor, Emma felt a bit relieved. "I'm glad you think that way. But if you run into them again, don't hold back. Give them what they deserve!"
"Got it," Olivia smiled. "It's late. Just stay here tonight. The guest room is ready."
"Alright, I'm too lazy to go back anyway," Emma nodded. "Leo went to bed ages ago. Before he slept, he kept asking when you'd be back."
At the mention of Leo, Olivia's eyes softened instantly. "I'll go check on him."
She quietly walked into the bedroom, looking at Leo's peaceful sleeping face, her heart filled with warmth.
As long as Leo was with her, those unhappy things didn't seem to matter anymore.
Meanwhile, Windy rushed to Luca's villa in a hurry.
As soon as she walked in, she saw Luca leaning on the couch, his brows furrowed, his phone showing a video of Leo drawing.
"Luca, how are you feeling? Is your headache better?" Windy hurried over, pretending to be concerned.
Luca put away his phone, his expression neutral. "Much better. Why are you back early? Is the party over?"
Windy sat beside him, secretly studying his face to see if he had met Olivia.
"The party was boring. I was worried about you not feeling well, so I came back early." She paused, then casually asked, "By the way, did you run into anyone familiar at the party?"
Luca shook his head. "No, why?"
Hearing this, Windy felt a wave of relief. It seemed Luca hadn't seen Olivia.
"Nothing, just asking," she smiled, reaching out to hold Luca's arm.
