Chapter 151 Fair Agreement
Olivia froze for a moment, clearly not expecting him to say that, a flicker of confusion in her eyes.
Luca looked into her eyes and said word by word: "I'll have my lawyer prepare a notarized agreement right now, clearly stating that I will never fight for Leo's custody. If I break this promise, all my property—including company shares, real estate, and savings—will go to you and Leo."
As soon as he said it, not only was Olivia stunned, but Leo, next to her, also lifted his head and stared at him blankly.
Luca knew that only real action could slowly ease Olivia's worries.
He pulled out his phone right away, called his lawyer, and said urgently: "Prepare a notarized agreement now. It should say I voluntarily give up custody of Leo. If I break it, all my property goes to Olivia and Leo. Print it out and send it to the city center hospital immediately."
After hanging up, Luca looked at Olivia, who was still on guard, and went on: "I know you don't believe me at all right now. I've owed you too much over the years, and a simple 'sorry' can't fix it. I was blind before. Only after you left did I slowly wake up, but by then I couldn't find you."
His voice had a bitter edge. "Later, my childhood buddy pointed it out—he said I always took Windy's side and ignored the people who really mattered. That's when I fully snapped out of it. Windy and I never had the close relationship she pretended. Besides work, we hardly ever hung out privately."
Olivia listened quietly, her face blank.
"These things have nothing to do with me," Olivia said flatly, her tone giving nothing away. "Whatever's going on with you and Windy is your business. I just want a quiet life with Leo."
"It matters!" Luca shot back. "My stupidity caused you so much pain. I have to make it up to you! I don't expect you to forgive me right away. Just give me a chance to stay around, be a regular dad, watch Leo grow up, and help you with some of the load. I won't mess with your life or push to get back together. Just stop treating me like the enemy and hiding Leo from me."
Leo looked at Luca, then at his mom, his little face full of conflict.
He hated this man who hurt his mom, but he could sense Uncle LO really wanted to treat his mom well—and him too.
Just as they were stuck in a standoff, the ward door suddenly swung open.
Windy walked in holding a fruit basket, a fake smile on her face. "Olivia, sorry. I didn't mean to push you."
Olivia's face darkened the second she saw her, eyes full of disgust. "You're not welcome here. Get out."
"Olivia, don't say that." Windy's smile stayed put as she walked to the bed and set the basket on the nightstand. "I know it was all my fault before. I shouldn't have argued with you or said those mean things. I'm here today to apologize especially. I hope you can forgive me."
She bowed her head, looking sincere. "I was just too worried about Luca, scared he'd get tricked, so I said dumb stuff in the heat of the moment."
Her words seemed like an apology, but really hinted that Olivia was fooling Luca.
Luca had seen through her long ago. He just stared at her coldly and said nothing.
Windy figured he'd side with her like always and kept going: "Olivia, I know it's tough raising a kid alone, but you can't force feelings. Luca's always had you in his heart. I don't want to cling anymore. I just hope you treat him right and don't hurt him again."
It sounded generous, but she was really trying to stir things up, implying Olivia had hurt Luca before.
Olivia shook with anger and was about to snap back when Luca cut in coldly: "Windy, you done?"
Windy froze, not expecting his tone. "Luca, I..."
"You just said it was all your fault—not arguing with Olivia, not saying those hurtful things," Luca interrupted, his eyes sharp as knives. "So tell me, out of all those fights with her, how many were real? You said she hid your design drafts, tripped you at the party, and that she slept around. Was any of that true?"
Windy's face went pale in a flash, her eyes dodging. "Luca, why ask this now? Those things... they really happened."
"Yeah?" Luca sneered. "But what I dug up is totally different from your story."
Windy's body shook, her heart racing. "Luca, who told you that crap? It's all lies—someone's trying to mess with us!"
"I'll figure out what's true," Luca said coldly. "I've already told my assistant to reinvestigate everything from back then. Results are coming soon."
Windy's face drained of color, her eyes full of fear.
Olivia watched it all, a mocking smile on her lips.
How laughable. Back then, Luca believed every word from Windy and ignored her side. Now he finally wanted to check it himself, but it was way too late.
Windy caught Olivia's mocking look and Luca's ice-cold stare. She knew pretending was useless now.
Tears poured down her face. She dropped the gentle act, her voice turning hysterical: "Fine! I lied! I made it all up! I was jealous of you! Jealous you married Luca, got his attention, that you're better than me! I've been with him for years, done so much for him, but he always cared about you. I couldn't stand it!"
She pointed at Olivia, yelling wildly: "You don't deserve Luca at all! Think bringing back some other guy's kid will make him nice to you? Keep dreaming!"
"Leo is my son!" Luca barked, cutting her off, his voice like ice. "Not some other guy's—he's mine and Olivia's!"
He glared at Windy with pure disgust: "Even if Olivia had been pregnant with someone else's kid back then, I'd take her and the child now. I owe her too damn much."
The words hit like a bomb in the room.
Windy gaped, unable to believe it. "Luca, are you nuts? She had another guy's baby, and you'd accept that?"
Olivia froze, too. She never thought Luca would say something like that.
She'd always figured he wanted Leo back just because he was his real son, but now it seemed different.
"I'm not nuts," Luca said calmly, dead serious. "I screwed up back then. No matter what she did, I'll own my mistakes."
Windy lost it completely. She sobbed and threw herself at Luca, trying to hug him. "Luca, you can't do this to me! I like you so much, love you so much—for you, I'd do anything! I saved you back then, and you promised to treat me right. You can't break that! I can raise Leo like my own. I won't have kids ever. Just let me stay with you, please?"
Luca shoved her off hard, eyes cold with disgust. "Cut the fake crap. I'm over it. If you hadn't saved me back then, for all you've done these years, I wouldn't let you walk away easy. From now on, stay out of my sight. Don't bother Olivia or Leo again, or you'll pay for it."
Windy stumbled back and fell to the floor. Staring at Luca's cold eyes, she felt nothing but fear and bitterness.
She hated it—hated how her years of scheming ended like this.
She hated Olivia more—hated why she came back, why she wrecked everything!
"Olivia! It's all you! You destroyed my life!" Windy screamed from the floor, pointing at her hysterically. "Why'd you come back? Why not stay gone in another country forever?"
