Chapter 049 If I Don't Punish You, I Fear You Won't Learn Your Lesson!

The scalding liquid soaked through the man's close-fitting clothes, and Adelina didn't come out unscathed either; her clean white T-shirt was stained with a large brown mark.

What was even more embarrassing for her was the position she found herself in with Langston.

Langston had remained seated, and as Adelina fell from above, her chest collided with his head.

As a result of the momentum, her legs moved forward, pressing against his groin, and instinctively her knees parted outward, leaving her straddling his thighs.

The turbulence continued.

Adelina found herself unable to get up from Langston's lap, maintaining this awkward and suggestive posture.

With every jolt of the aircraft, there was an unwanted friction between them.

Despite the layers of clothing, she could even feel the changes in the man's body.

The flight attendant's voice came through the intercom at this moment. "Dear passengers, our flight has encountered strong air turbulence and may experience bumps for the next ten minutes. Please take your seats and fasten your seatbelts. We will also be switching off all service lights until the turbulence subsides. Thank you for your cooperation."

As soon as the announcement ended, the cabin lights dimmed almost instantly, leaving only the glow of the safety indicator lights.

However, this environment seemed even more perilous for Adelina.

The man's breathing grew heavier, and the skin exposed outside his clothes became gradually warmer.

Adelina's body seemed to react as well, like floodgates about to open, leaving her feeling both alienated and frightened.

Suddenly, Langston freed one hand, pulled up the seatbelt from beside his seat, wrapped it around her from behind, and clicked it into place on the other side of the armrest.

"You can straighten up a bit now, you're pressing down on me and making it hard to breathe..."

His voice seemed to emanate from her very chest, causing her to shiver with each breath he took.

She quickly propped up her upper body with her arms, the dim light making it difficult to see his face, but she could feel the heat from his breath.

He also took the opportunity to shift his body, trying to reduce the uncomfortable contact between them.

Yet, the turbulence didn't let up, and every time they managed to create some space, the violent air currents shoved them back into the awkward embrace.

Adelina was on the verge of a total collapse. Her willpower was fraying, and she felt she couldn't hang on any longer when the turbulence suddenly ceased.

The cabin lights flooded on, and the soothing voice of the flight attendant came through the PA system. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have safely passed through the rough air pocket and all services are now resuming. Should you need any assistance, please press the call button near you. Thank you!"

With the fasten seatbelt sign now off, Adelina could finally sit up straight.

Their faces were illuminated by the bright cabin light, revealing the deep, intense look in both Adelina and Langston's eyes. In the next moment, Langston pulled Adelina forward and planted fervent kisses on her eyes, her nose, her lips... Her heart raced, and she even began to kiss him back.

Just then, voices from outside the lounge broke their intimate bubble. "Langston, are you all right? That was terrifying," someone said.

"Miss Watson, you can't go in there. This is Mr. Moore's private area."

"Is Adelina inside? She's been in there quite some time."

"Ms. Watson, Mr. Moore invited Miss Howard in himself. Please don't disturb them without Mr. Moore's invitation."

The flight attendant guarding the door was doing her job well, politely turning away anyone who approached.

Inside, hearing the commotion, Langston had to let go of Adelina and picked up a cordless microphone from his desk. "I'm fine, and so is she. Adelina and I are discussing work matters. Please go back," he said firmly, then switched off the mic, his gaze returning to Adelina.

However, his words made Adelina uneasy, and she couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes again. She forced herself to look elsewhere.

Her eyes then fell upon a large coffee stain on his shirt, which had trickled from his chest downward. It wouldn't have been as much of a problem if he had been wearing his original waterproof jacket, but after entering the lounge, he had taken it off, revealing a light blue undershirt.

Concerned about the coffee's temperature when it spilled, Adelina instinctively reached out, touching the stain lightly. "Mr. Moore, are you sure you're okay?"

Langston caught her hand with a firm grip, his deep eyes locked on her. "Yeah, it's quite uncomfortable."

Thinking he referred to the discomfort of the spill, she frowned. "Should you take it off to check? If it's red, you should apply ointment immediately to prevent blistering. If you have ice, it would be best to apply that first."

Langston's eyes gleamed with a hint of mischief at her concern. "Do you really want me to take it off?"

Before she could respond, he had already grasped her hand and slowly moved it downward from his chest.

Realizing that something was amiss, Adelina jolted awake, quickly withdrew her hand, and jumped away from him.

"Are you scared?" Langston teased with a playful smile.

Adelina's face flushed. "Mr. Moore, I didn't mean..."

Unexpectedly, Langston suddenly took off his tank top, revealing his muscular torso.

"Don't you want to see? Can you tell me what degree of burn this is?"

Adelina took a deep breath, embarrassment stretching her face long.

She had misunderstood him. She actually thought he was about to undress...

In an attempt to salvage her dignity, she refocused her attention on the area where he had been burned.

A faint red mark spread from his attractive collarbone downward, extending between the well-defined muscles of his abs.

"Mr. Moore, you should go rinse it with cold water; it's all red!" exclaimed Adelina.

Langston's reply was somewhat profound, "Indeed, I need a rinse. I feel like I'm on fire right now."

With that, he stood up, but before heading to the bathroom, he turned back and reminded her, "There are some first aid supplies in the nightstand drawer. Check if there's any burn ointment, and also see if you've been burned."

Adelina then remembered that her own shirt had been splashed and was stained in a large spot.

Seeing that Langston had entered the bathroom, she quietly lifted a corner of her shirt.

Perhaps because she had been leaning forward at the time, the fabric hadn't touched her skin when the splashing occurred, enabling her to avoid burns.

Once she confirmed she was unharmed, she went to the nightstand to look for medicine.

Upon opening the drawer, the first thing she saw was box after box of condoms.

Her face changed abruptly; she hadn't expected the seemingly abstinent Langston to be so adventurous.

Recalling how she had almost fallen for it herself, she felt a shiver of fear...

So once again, she silently cautioned herself to always stay rational and not be dazzled by his attractiveness.

Digging further, she finally found the burn ointment at the very back of the drawer.

When Langston came out, he was only wrapped in a towel around his waist.

Adelina, not daring to look, quietly handed him the tube of ointment with her head down.

"You hurt me, and now I have to apply the ointment myself?" Langston sat on the bed without taking it.

Adelina, feeling guilty, could only twist open the cap of the ointment and then sit down beside him.

While applying the medicine, she, wanting to avoid direct skin contact, took a cotton swab from the drawer and gently dabbed on the ointment.

Throughout the process, she maintained her earlier restraint and decorum, which caused Langston to frown in displeasure.

After finishing the application, she apologized to him, "I'm sorry, Mr. Moore, I'm always so clumsy..."

Langston grabbed the arm she had attempted to pull away and drew her close, wrapping an arm around her waist with a hint of danger in his voice, "You think a simple 'sorry' is going to cut it? This isn't the first time you've made a mistake, and without a little punishment, I'm afraid you won't learn your lesson!"

The mention of punishment sent Adelina's heart racing again. "What kind of punishment do you have in mind, Mr. Moore?"

Langston, looking at the woman's face mere inches away, felt the flames of his anger beginning to rise once more.

He had been fighting hard to suppress it, but ultimately, his gaze landed on her neck.

Then, his lips descended heavily upon hers.
