Chapter XVI: HOME

Way back to the Manor, their words stuck on her mind. She couldn't help but to keep asking them how and why? Somehow, it clarified her mind on what it is, and what is the Dusk they called.

Way back 18th centuries, the five packs are originally united. They called their selves 'Mighty' for they manage to survive the cruelty of the people. They are all at peace, surrendering their selves during full moon and eclipse to the moon goddess. It was all good not until the people discover them and started to hunt them and so many had died. There are five who protested against each other back then, and those five are said to be the most powerful among all of them. However, instead of using their power to fight for each other, they used it just to protect those people who are in their sides and thus, the pack begins to arise. The five elemental power, the fire for Burgeon, air for Levistous, water for Miraculese, earth in Manchada and space for Galory. That was unique, she thought. "Mom?" She quickly open the door and there she saw her mom standing firm, healthy and alive as ever be.

"Brige!" Her mom immediately went to her side and hug her tightly. "I'm sorry. I'm very sorry I took your reality. I'm just afraid that you'll suffer criticism because it's not easy. I'm sorry". She said crying.

"There's nothing to apologize, mom. I understand. I know you just do that for a purpose." Her mom cupped her face and smile sweetly at her and in j that moment, she notice her mom's eyes and hair has change. From brown eyes, it became golden yellow and from black hair, it became brown.

"You change mom."

"Physically yes. But mentally and spiritually? No. You will also undergo change once you turned twenty."

"Because you're different, Brige. You are something much deeper than anyone of us." Trinity said.

"That means there is something inside you that has nothing is us. And truth to be told, it was destructive that if you cannot handle, this whole SouthWest will be vanished from the world map. But don't be afraid. Starting tomorrow, you will undergo training." Diana stated.

"Who will train me?"

"By me." She look at her mom.

"Seriously?"

"Yes. You inherited the power from me, so yeah, I'm going to train you."

"You literally have a power?" She asked amused.

"See it for yourself. But for now we need to go home." Her mood lift instantly as she heard what her mom just said.

"Are okay now?"

"I'm fine. The witches do something for me. I make it on the eclipse."

"And you will transform." She stated.

"Yes." Her mom then, gaze at Trinity "We need to go, I will take Diana with us. Please take care, the village."

"Are you not going to face father before you leave?"

"No need. He knows we're about to leave. Fix your things Brige. There's a lot of stuff you missed at school." She quickly got her back and gather her things when Apollo and Hera entered.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes we need too. Brige missed many of her trainings and school works, but don't worry, we will be back soon." Elizabeth answered.

After packing her clothes, they went down with the guards carrying their luggage. Just as she entered the car, the Alpha appeared from the inside and face her mom.

"Are you sure you are going to leave Elizabeth?" He asked.

"Yes father. My daughter needs to comply at school. She's also preparing for a competition. I hope you don't mind."

"You're sacrificing too much for her, Eli." The Alpha said.

"Mother did, too, sacrifice a lot for me and Trinity. That's mother's love no one can take away father, it's unconditional. We're going now." And just before my mother entered, the Alpha halted her.

"Take Kit with you."

"Yes Lady Elizabeth." And so, her eyes widen on the idea that Kit is going to live with them. Like, she would see him every day! What the heck? She thought.

Two hours later, they already reach the Entrance of Winterbelle. The common tropical smell started to linger in her nose that make her more excited. Kit is the one driving the car and Diana is beside her while she and her mom are on the back seat. All along the journey, all she did is use her phone. Since she hadn't used it during her stay-cation in the Manchada, its battery percentage are still good. She listen to music and close her eyes, avoiding the gaze Kit was throwing through the rear mirror. She wants to complain but was too afraid to received criticism from the Alpha.

Minutes later, they already got home. Kit and Diana are the one carrying their luggage. It's just a week of staying their, but it feels like a very long time for her. She was about to help her mom getting upstairs, but she remembered how fine and active she was that she choose to cook rather than resting. It was already dark. She took a quick bath before going downstairs. Her mom and Diana was busy preparing their meal while Kit was busy watching cartoon Tom and Jerry on the T.V. She doesn't want to join him, maybe too shy, so she decided to just help her mom and Diana.

While eating, the whole table is too quiet. All was busy savoring the mouth watering dish of her mom which is a chicken with pineapple sauce when Diana started a conversation.

"So Brige, when will be the competition?"

"It's in the second week of June. I still need to comply to my missed practices and school activities."

"You're competing into what?" Kit asked.

"Don't you know? Brige here is a martial artist. She's a black belter." Diana answered and so Kit nodded.

"That's explain why."

"Why?"

"Nothing. I just saw her how to fight, and I must say, she's good. Especially, it's Jessica who she defeated.

"What?!" Her mom suddenly gaze at her. "You what?!"

"Mom, be calm, please. I didn't want it, okay? It's the Alpha who plan it. I just followed his demand because I'm too afraid he will throw me away on that pack if I didn't follow."

"You can just say, no, you don't want too."

"I have no choice, mom. Besides, I'm also fuming that time that all I want is to release every bad emotions I felt. I didn't mean to injure her." Again, the table became silent.

"Alright, I understand." Her mom finally said.

"How about you Kit? How's your duty of being an assassin? I heard the alpha sent you to Galory." Diana's change the topic. She look at Kit and was surprise to know that he is an assassin.

"Well, It's fine, actually. I love the work. Not until I slam onto someone one night that makes me want to stay on the village." He said that makes her heart beat rapidly.

Is he referring to me?, she thought.

"Really, and who is this someone?"

"It's just uhm, a, normal villager you know, trying to sneak in the Manor, so I decided to just stay for a while hoping to capture that rouge." He said and look at her.

"Does the Alpha know?"

"No. I chose not to tell. I'm sure he's going to tighten the security again. It's just a simple case."

"Good."

After dinner, she went upstairs and jump on her bed. Usually, it's just her and her mom, then Diana came, and now Kit. She doesn't want to admit but, she's starting to be used on everything that is happening, especially now that she felt like she has now a family, the house was no longer lonely. However, there is only one spare room where Diana is staying, Kit proposed to just sleep on the living room since he loves watching cartoons. Everything seem so fine, everything and everyone is in the perfect place, but it also crosses her mind,
