Chapter XVII: SIBLINGS

"A good friend stabs you in the front."

This isn't in the list of what she was going through in the future. She expected having a hard time to study, she expected having a good time with friends and a hard time to find a lover, but she never expected that things goes like this because from the very first reason, it was unrealistic. She was lying in bed, thinking of what is the better thing to do in her situation when someone knocks the door.

"Come in." She said in the most persuading tone.

It was her mom.

"Can I talk to you?"

"I would love to. There's so many things I want to hear from you." She said.

"I know." Her mom seated beside her.

"Mom. I understand that you just want me to have a normal life, but aside from that, I understand nothing more. When Diana said that we need to take you back home, I am so confused what home is she talking about. And when we got there, the Alpha rest his gaze at me like I've done something wrong a-and was telling me that I am a cursed child. And there's my best friend Ericson, I never think of him as something more than he was, I mean, I always, and I pray for him to be successful in the future and I couldn't imagine how on earth did he became like that?"

"Well, Ericson is the oldest child of the former Beta of the clan. Like you, his parents take him away from the reality because they wanted him to have a normal life but during his last year of being a high school, his parents are murdered by the Galory pack and so the witches took him, and they are the one who introduced him about our existence. They are taking care of him."

"He said that his duty is to protect me. Why is that so?"

"Because I asked him to."

"You what?" She rose up from bed and sit with the same level as her mom.

"I asked him to Brige because I'm too afraid that Galory will take you away from me."

"Why would they?"

"Because you have the power Brige. A very destructive power and a forbidden one."

" Why is it forbidden?"

And just as her mom was about to answer, Diana and Kit suddenly entered the room.

"Elizabeth, I can smell them. They're around the area." Diana said while Kit close all the windows, open the dim lamp before turned the ceiling lights off.

"Who's there? What is happening?" Diana face her.

"The Galory pack. We have two weeks before you fully undergo your phase but because you are so powerful, it runs over and so these werewolves are into you. Perhaps, it's their Alpha who demanded to."

"But why? I thought all Alphas have power,, so why did they want to take me? How many powers do I have?"

"Four."

"Four? How did that happen?" She whispered.

"Obviously because you have a mother, and you have a father."

"So what's the point? Can't I just have two powers?"

"No Brige. Because I have two elemental powers as well as your father."

"Control Brige. Focus on your surrounding. Follow the direction of the wind and think of it as something you want it to be" her mom said.

Last night, when the Galory pack vanished from the distance, Diana suggested that it's better if she was going to first learn the air power so that she could control almost everything in her surrounding. She tried. But whatever she doesn't feel like controlling it.

"It's too difficult."

"Are you trying hard?"

"Yes!"

"Try harder."

Again, she focusses her mind on the moving thin air in the leaves and control it, obey as what her mom said. Earlier, she saw her mom how it controls the direction of the wind effortless that create dust devils around the area. Unlike tornado, dust devils are much harmless that it just vanished on a single snap of her mom.

She tried harder and tried to make a little swirling air on the leaves. She focus on the air hardly that almost felt her blood running out from her nose.

And then she stop.

This harder than martial arts, she thought.

"You're making it so hard. Just look gently at air and not stare too hard."

"Alright."

And so again, she tried to focus, looking at the ground with the leaves that is carrying by the wind. She stare gently at leaves and try to make herself calm and patient as possible. After a couple of seconds, she suddenly saw how the leaves are rising up circularly, swirling like playing as it goes higher. And then, it fell as she was so amaze of what she was done.

"Mom, I did it, didn't I?" She asked confirming.

"Yes. Now try to make any light object to be carried okay?"

"Alright."

She open the door and sat beside Kit whose busy watching. He offers her a snack and water in which she quickly consume.

"How's training?"

"Exhausted. My head hurts."

"Thank goodness I don't have any powers". Kit said.

"Lucky for you." She said.

"Not lucky enough. Your school works are pain in the ass, did you know?"

"I know it since freshmen."

"And your project, you're teaching, was asking where is your photograph of the animal you're just taking care."

"Shoot. I forgot that!"

"Already done. I send my Husky."

"Thank you." She finished her food before going upstairs and take a cold shower. It ceases the warm on her body.

Her head is spinning, and her body is in sore. She quickly jumps onto her bed and shut her eyes closed hoping it will be gone. She stay like that for almost an hour when Kit knock on the door calling her for dinner.

"Just a minute Kit." She said trying to hide the pain.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes."

"I don't believe you."

"Then why did you ask?"

"Can I come inside?"

"Yeah."

Kit enters her room and roam his eyes around, amaze of what he was seeing.

"Wow. You are really a black belter." He said as he fixed her eyes on her cabinet full of trophies, medals and belts of her being a martial artist.

"I work hard on it though."

"I know. My mom is once a black belter too." And from that, she look at him, interested on what he said.

"Really? It will be glad to meet her."

"You will never meet her anymore, nor my father. They're dead."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's fine. It's been a long time."

"If you don't mind, how did they die?"

"Did Ericson didn't tell you?"

"Nope. I just found out that his parents were killed by the pack of Galory."

"Exactly."

"Your parents are also killed by the Galory pack? That's so awful, I mean how could they kill...

"Wait." She stop talking as she realized another revelation.

"What?"

"You and Ericson are siblings?"

"Yes. We are."
