Chapter sixteen
Olivia
I was experiencing how my brother is getting lost to me because of the wench called Layla. I just really can’t help hating her guts for all she’d pulled these couple of weeks.
Now I’m hell-bent on making sure that her stay in this house will be a hellish experience for her. She’ll definitely regret staying in this mansion despite having fired her, I don’t care if it was my brother that overruled the decision I made, all I know is that she is the cause.
Actually, I was the one who set my leg on her way so she could trip and pour the water on Victor, a classic move that I hadn’t expected would work so well. Then, I quickly gave that punishment before Victor could say anything so that he wouldn’t interfere in my punishing of the girl, but then, he still found a way to take the punishment out of my hands, one thing was just that it seems he was finally getting himself again, he was out rightly furious with her and decided to punish her by himself, I hope he’ll be able to go all out on her though, I’ll be satisfied to know she had received some serious trashing.
All in all, what I know is that Layla must leave this mansion, as far as I’m involved and concerned, she’ll definitely go packing. She’s causing too much problems already, exactly the kind of thing one experiences when he or she hires an untrained wench. Thank goodness Mom and Dad are coming back in a few days time, they keep on shifting their arrival time, always saying they had to quickly go attend to something business related, I don’t believe them one but, I bet they are only just cruising around, enjoying themselves, but now at least, it seems they are seriously coming back, finally. I can’t wait to tell them to fire her, at least by then he wouldn’t be able to refuse them.
I don’t want her anywhere near here in the coming weeks, she’s bad luck, and useless, just good for nothing, there absolutely no way I’d indulge such.

I walked into the living room ready to go visit Olivia and I met dad there reading newspapers, I always wondered why he always bothered himself with that kind of stress when he could easily get any and all information he needed online, it was annoying, but then, who knows why old people do the things they do.
“Hey dad I’m going out” I announced to him to bring him out of his engrossment to what he was reading.
“Where are you heading to my dear?” He asked quizzically.
“Erm… I just want to go visit Olivia, hope my dress sense is making sense today dad?” I asked after answering his question, he actually knows that I mostly go to Olivia’s whenever I go out, I don’t have someone else that I’m as close to as I am to Olivia.
“You look sexy dear… So sexy that no guy in his right sense would dare resist you” he said and I blushed, my dad could get hyperbolic sometimes but still, it gets to my head when he exaggerates my beauty especially.
“Aww… thanks dad” I said and gave him a peck on his cheek, my eyes flashed to what he was reading in the papers and I saw that it was an old newspaper even, the heading was about the death of one of his friends and co-owner of his company, the name though, could it be? Or was it just a coincidence? She did say something about her dad being dead as well, but then, I can’t be bothered with all that now, top on my mind was Victor, I’ll look into this later.
“I know that I’ll be able to seduce Vic with this dress, don’t you think dad?” I asked him totally waving off the possible discovery and connection I might have just made.
“Of course my angel. You’re definitely good to go, a solid hundred” he said grinning and giving me a thumbs up.
“Alright dad, I have to go now” I said and waved at him before walking out to my car, my dad’s car actually, but it has been promised to me once I’m done with college. I hop in and drove it to the Lockwood’s mansion.
“Hey girl” I smiled as I saw Olivia on her phone texting away, when I got to the sitting room.
“Wow Bayley I wasn’t expecting you today at all” she said and kept her phone aside to give me her full attention.
“Yes, yes, but I know that I’m welcomed at anytime, aren’t I?” I said smiling and she walked up to me and we hugged.
“Of course yes, you’re welcome anytime Bay…what should I offer you?” she asked and I could sense that she was in a really good mood “Just some red wine” I answered, deciding to rude on the good atmosphere oozing from my best friend.
“Alright I’ll ask the maids to get it at once” she said and typed in some digits on the landline telephone beside her before bringing the receiver to her ears, I believed it rang the helps in the house.
“Yeah… get me some red wine, main sitting room” she said and dropped the telephone receiver back down as it was kept before.
“So how are you doing Bay?” she asked me as if she really truly didn’t know what I’d been up to these days, heck we chatted right this morning when we both woke up even.
“I’m good Liv… just that these days are so stressful for me, I should thank you for taking me to that awesome club to relieve my stress, two days ago was it” I said to her.
“So sorry dear but what could make your days so stressful when you’re not working or engaging in any tasking activity?” She asked whilst smirking, I knew she was being sarcastic all along with her seemingly over caring questions. A maid came and gave us the red wine that was requested and left immediately after opening it and pouring out two glass cups.
“Oh, lest I forget, I made sure Layla was well punished this morning” she said after she took a sip and I became interested at once.
“Oh wow, what happened?” I asked and she narrated everything that happened that morning to me. “Serves her right, next time she would think twice before crossing those that are more than her and above her in every respect” I said with satisfaction.
“Trust me when I say that her days in this house are numbered” my friend said to me and I smiled broadly at that reassurance.
“Ern… I came up with a plan Liv” I said moving further into the conversation, it was time to divulge why I was really here in the first place. “What plan?” She asked also getting really interested and I smiled broadly yet again.

Victor
The lords from the Japanese company arrived and the meeting started immediately. It wasn’t easy to get them to partner with us with the terms I laid out but at the end, we got them to agree to partner with us.
I wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity of being ahead even more, taking L.W corp way ahead and out of the league of other corporations. I shook hands with them, took a bow and that was the end of the meeting. I check the time and it was already past 3pm. Gosh the meeting really took a long time despite the pitch being short and concise.
I walked into my office smiling like I’ve just won a lottery, of course what I just achieved is more than winning a lottery, my friends must hear this, I just gotta let them know, although their reaction would be nothing compared to what I’d get from my parents.
There will be a launching in three days and everyone is going to be there with their dates since it’s a plus1 kind of event, I don’t have any dates, yet, o one comes to mind and I don’t think this is an event I’d like to attend with one of my sluts in tow, definitely not.
I am really happy for today’s development and achievement such that I can’t wait to get home and break the news to Olivia as well, I know dad will be proud of me by the time he comes back from his vacation slash business trip.
I heard the sound of my office door opening and I turned to see my secretary walk in with a pretty smile on her face, I could take her along, but it won’t be any fun, she tends to get clingy when
showered with attention, I learnt that the hard way whilst we had the few weeks affair between us, I had to end it, subtly.
“Sir?! You have an urgent call, she claims they are from Mitchell's magazine company” she said and handed the phone over to me, in this phone was the line we gave out to people, hence why it’s with her because she handles all my external interactions.
“Oh! Ok...” I said with a smile and collected the phone from her and placed it in my ear, I don’t know how the media does it that they could sniff out stories from miles away, this call was probably because they had gotten wind of the meeting with the Japanese lord’s, if this was about an exclusive on that though, I’d rather it was Forbes that got onto it first. “Hello” I said simply and waited.
“Good day Mr. Lockwood” I heard a female’s voice sift through the speaker, “Hi… how may I help you?” I asked, I suddenly got a feeling of dread well up from deep within me, most probably a premonition from the entity within.
“Please speak to my boss” she said and I heard some sound at the background as she moved to pass the phone to whoever her boss was, a cold sweat trickled down from my temple.
“Good day Victor” the voice of a guy said on the other side and I recognized it immediately, the entity within me was right for warning me, I hate this guy so much.
“What do you want jerk?” I asked getting angry already, the fear had converted straight to annoyance, I wanted to catch this guy and beat him to a pulp.
“I just wanted to torment you a little Vic. I heard you’re making a little progress in your company. You know I won’t allow that to happen” he said laughing wickedly.
“You’re here to haunt me with my past again right” I asked feeling like my head will burst at any moment should I stay on the line any longer with the guy.
“You’ll never make any progress when you know you’re nothing but a murderer” he said to me and his voice dripped with the same venom that mine had. “I am not a murderer, I didn’t kill her” I hissed into the phone breathing heavily, I was getting cold as the touch of the entity within me got a stronger hold on me.
“You can deny it all you want but I’m not taking that shit. I’ll torment you till your death and should I meet you again in the afterlife, I will only keep on tormenting you” he said and laughed some more before ending the call abruptly.
I turned to face my secretary, but she wasn’t there anymore, I called for her to come inside again whilst fuming up and almost ready to burst.
“Why did you say that the call was from Mitchell’s huh cos it was not!” I said harshly raising my voice at her.
“I’m sorry but it was supposed to be from that company because...”
“Just get the hell out of my office!!” I yelled again cutting her off, she got startled and jumped slightly in fear before leaving the office in a hurry.
Why must he come now that I’ve started making progress again? I thought he would never come back again ? Why must he keep reminding me of my past? Why? Why? Why?
