Chapter seventeen
Olivia
Bayley and I were chatting casually and laughing when Victor walked past us looking so angry. What went wrong? Did the meeting not go well? I wondered.
“What’s wrong with him?” Bayley asked oblivious of the many things that could actually be wrong at the moment.
“I don’t know, I’ll go check what’s wrong” I said looking really worried. I really hope that the other entity residing in him isn’t the cause of this, actually I am more concerned about the entity taking over, I wouldn’t want to cry because of him again, seeing as what must be done to have it withdraw back inwards is so drastic and heartbreaking just to think about, not to talk of experiencing it.
I stood up and ran after Victor with Bayley following me, when I got to the door to his room, I turned to Bayley.
“I’m sorry Bay but you have to leave now” I said holding my forehead, I dreaded what I’m about to experience, if it is possible that I never have to encounter this cold and menacing entity, then I’d definitely take that possibility over and over again.
“But why? Why should I leave when the guy I’m planning to date and possibly marry, isn’t doing fine?” She asked with genuine concern.
“C’mon Bay, it’s not like that, it’s just that, this is a family matter, still very integral for you to be involved with. You’re no outsider but this level is not you yet either” I said hoping to quickly dissuade and dismiss her.
“What do you mean? He’s just angry, that’s all, isn’t it?” she said unconvinced and adamant.
“You don’t understand Bayley. Just stay here then and no matter what you hear, do not come in, that might make him more prone and unstable, ok, Bay do you understand?” I said and she nodded her consent before I went inside the room.
I met Victor sitting on his bed looking so angry, he was already getting pale and his hair had started to change color as well, moving in a blend over from brown to faded brown to white, oh no, my mind echoed.
“Uhn, V? You’re back, but you’re looking so upset, is, is anything the matter?” I asked looking really scared. I could see that he was already switching to that other being already, how do I stop this from happening, can he retain himself? Or would that entity to take him over again.
“Get, out, Olivia, Now!” He said clearly straining to get each word out, he was still himself from his voice, so maybe there was a way to stop this process or make sure he is still in control of himself.
“But…” I started to say but he rounded up and faced me with startling grey eyes that seemed to peer straight into my soul, I shivered uncontrollably under the intense gaze.
“I said get out!!!” He yelled cutting me off. The whites of his eyes we’re getting red and his veins were getting pronounce, more visible, darker as if it was black blood that flowed in them under the pale skin.
My brother is turning into a demon and there is nothing I can do about it except watch as he undergoes that painful heart wrenching transformation as it is when forced out by overbearing emotions, now he is sending me away so I can’t even watch him as well. Tears flowed down my cheeks as I left his room for fear that I’d only provoke him furthermore if I stayed or tried to argue with him.
Bayley was standing there looking worried. She must have heard the conversation because she kind of looked confused.. “What happened in there Liv?” She asked me upon seeing get out in tears.
“Bayley, he’s back to… his old self. Nobody can talk to him now. He’s not going to grant anyone access into his life anymore.” I said crying when I couldn’t hold the tears anymore, I didn’t know how to explain it to her so I gave it that twist, for now though, my brother is gone. That guy in there is a beast in form of Victor.
The only reassurance we have concerning that entity, is the he has no choice but to reside in my brother’s body, so he can’t harm anyone who is family or someone close to him, say like the maids even, they’ve come to a kind of symbiotic agreement as Victor had explained, but then, a lot of things could still go wrong and I for one does not trust the words of a demon.
“You never told me about this” Bayley said with a shaky voice, if only she knew the whole truth, she’d probably piss herself.
“I was gonna tell you Bay, but I was afraid you were going to refuse to be with my brother” I said looking at her with sad eyes, it still isn’t the whole truth even and I could tell she was getting spooked already.
“So what should we do now?” She asked and sighed, just like that she had gained a bit more of her composure, maybe she could handle the whole truth after all, but now is not the time.
“I don’t know B, maybe I have to call our parents to come back immediately because I can’t deal with my brother anymore, not as he is right now” I said running to the living room to get my phone, Bayley came running right after me.

Victor
I’m really not myself right now. I hated being overwhelmed by my emotions to the point that the transformation is forced on my body, I can hardly remain myself when that happens, and there was no way I’d give the reigns of my body to the other guy.
But then, the memories of Alana keeps coming into my head. I didn’t kill her but Luke won’t believe me. He keeps accusing me of killing Alana his sister, but never in a million years could I have done that, I mean, I love Alana so much, more than I loved myself even, so I couldn’t have possibly thought of killing her, not to now talk of actually doing it.
The thought of loosing Alana made me to do stupid things, especially since it brought on the other guy into my life, changing my whole entire life drastically. I really found it super hard to get her off my mind and I thought I was forgetting her already but not until Luke came and added more fuel to the little burning ember that had almost gone out.

Layla
I heard that Victor was back and I had to go attend to him as his personal maid, actually I really wanted to see him, partly to thank him for saving me and partly to just gaze upon his godly form, but just then, Martha came in looking worried.
“Layla, I don’t think you should go attend to Victor right now, maybe not today even, because he is not quite himself right now. I fear he might do something bad to you.” Martha said with all the worries of a mother that she could muster.
“What do you mean by he is not quite himself?” I asked genuinely curious, was there something wrong him? My thoughts inquired.
“Well he almost burned down this mansion, once before when he was in that state” she said and I held my chest, what kind of state could he have been in to throw such a tantrum?
“What could have made him want to burn down the mansion?” I asked giving voice to my thoughts, “I don’t know for sure, but I have witnessed it and I know it is not a pleasant one, not one bit” she said to me.
“Well thanks ma’am, but I’m still going to see Victor in his room” I said stubbornly, I had no reason not to believe her, I do believe her actually, but it only spurred me into action, if anything, I believe he actually needs my help now more than ever, I don’t know why I felt this way, but I felt it strongly.
“What are you saying Layla, you’d put yourself in danger?” She asked me, now the worry in her voice had a hint of surprise.
“Well he’s my employer. I have to go see him and know how’s doing, and help him in whatever way I could” I said to her.
“I know how you feel Layla, but he’s dangerous at this moment. You can’t go there” she said still standing her ground as well, but I was just as stubborn.
“I’m sorry Martha, I have to go now” I said as I stood up and left the room hurriedly heading for Victor’s room.
I don’t know what I’m doing right now. It felt like something was pushing me to go on ahead to meet Victor and be with him right now, because that is what he needs, how I came to know what he needs is beyond me at the moment, but I am not going to question it.
I finally got to the room door and wanted to knock but I decided against it, I opened the door and went inside, what I saw left my mouth hanging open.
Everywhere was looking messed up but Victor was nowhere to be found, where could he be? I asked myself as I walked further into the room after locking the door behind me then checking to see if I would see him, but I didn’t.
Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me and I whirled around to see an angry and pale looking person who resembled Victor just a bit, a lot of things were different, the menacing eyes, the pale skin, the washed and bleached hair and his demeanor, but I knew it was actually still him, it was still Victor Lockwood, but what had happened to him?
“What are you doing here?” He asked and for the first time, his voice wasn’t alluring or smooth, or soothing, instead it sounded cruel and wicked and angry, I swallowed hard, maybe I should have listened to Martha and stayed back after all.
