Kiss Me

Kiss Me
MIRABELLA

Lucas stared at me in surprise and I could tell that my confession had taken him off guard. I crossed my fingers hoping that he was going to respond in a positive way, however, after a few minutes he smiled.

That smile really unnerved me because what I had said wasn't in any way funny, it was exactly how I felt.

"Is this a joke?" he asked.

"I don't joke when it comes to matters of the heart," I replied.

He got up from his seat and I instantly followed suit.

"Please, before you say anything, just know this, all my life I have only cared about one thing and I've been so passionate about it and that's my books.

I've always wanted to excel in school and be the best and I'm actually one of the best in my college. I'm a go-getter, I am someone who knows what I want and I go for it.

I'm saying this so you understand that I am clear-headed and not confused about anything. This is the first time in my life that I feel this way. Mr. Lucas, I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything else. You're all I think about."

He stared at me as if in a daze, "Wow! I am flattered but....."

The moment I heard the word "but" I knew a rejection was imminent and I was determined to convince Lucas to give me a chance so I cut him off.

"Just give me a chance, Mr. Lucas and I promise you won't regret it. You just have to get to know me and you would like me. I will make you very happy."

He laughed, "I am not sad, Elle."

"No, I am not saying you're sad," I quickly replied. "I just meant that my feelings for you are very much genuine."

He sighed, "Listen, I get it and I appreciate your feelings for me. As a matter of fact, I am very impressed with you because you have done what a lot of men can't even do. I am also impressed by the fact that you are strong enough to go after what you want but, you are just a child."

"No, I'm not a child," I replied as I turned to his side and began walking closer to him.

"Don't come any closer," he said halting my movement.

I paused for a moment but then defied his words and moved closer to him, "I am not a child," I repeated. "I am nineteen. You're probably twice my age or almost and that's fine. I mean, age is just a number."

He shook his head and smiled, "You're sweet."

"So is that a yes?" I asked excitedly.

"No, it's not," he quickly replied. "Listen, you probably don't know this but I have a daughter, she's older than you by a few years and you might even know her because you both are in the same college. I would want her to date someone around the same age bracket as her. It would be a fine blend."

"I've been told that my character is really mature for my age." I insisted.

"Doesn't seem that way to me," he retorted. "Date someone who's around the same age bracket as you. You'll be happier, trust me."

I sighed, "But you're the one my heart beats for. I've been surrounded by guys my own age all my life, but this is the first time I have ever felt this way. Have you ever been in love, Mr. Lucas?"

He nodded, "Yes, with someone who was around the same age as me, back in the day."

"Then you understand how I feel," I cried.
"I am usually a very proud, self-respecting person but for the sake of my feelings, I am here, doing something that is completely out of the ordinary for me.

What if you were in my shoes? How would you feel?"

LUCAS

I stared at the young beauty standing just a few inches away from me and stifled a laugh.

It was ironic that barely two days ago, I was telling my daughter, Nova about an irresponsible, seemingly spoilt brat who rammed into my car at the parking lot of her college and did not have the decency to apologize for it.

Only yesterday, after seeing her at the golf club, I was wondering why she looked so beautiful, and why I couldn't get the image of her face off my mind.

She left quite an impression on me when she apologized for her misbehavior the day before and it took so much for me to remind myself of all the reasons why I ought to see her as a restricted territory and why I even decided to avoid women in the first place.

Now, she was right in front of me, looking so youthful, innocent, and beautiful. She was stirring feelings in me which I only experienced when I was younger and I would have dated her in a heartbeat back then but everything was different. How could I do so now?

The reasons I gave her were completely valid to me. She was too young. Her father was someone I respected deeply in the business world. Being a dad myself, I knew he would go bananas if he found out I was banging his daughter. I wouldn't want that for my daughter.

Turning women and their advances down was something I achieved effortlessly in the past, especially because I could be very rude when I wanted to but before the little girl in front of me, I seemed to have suddenly become meek.

Perhaps because I was attracted to her, I wanted to turn her down politely without hurting her feelings but she seemed to be coming on strong.

In all honesty, I liked her guts but all these reasons did not change the fact that I did not want to have a romantic relationship with someone who was almost my daughter's age.

She was staring at me with so much love in her eyes but despite how much I wanted her, I had to do the right thing. I shook my head, "I'm sorry my dear, what you are asking, is not possible...."

The words had barely left my mouth when she threw herself at me, literally and tightly wrapped her arms around my body. She smelled fresh and nice.

I pried her arms off my body and tried to push her away but she wouldn't move. "Don't make this weird, please. Why won't you let go?"

"It's because you're going to say something bad." She replied.

"So what else do you want me to say?" I asked

She smiled, "That you'll give us a chance."

I scoffed, "What us? There's no us, young lady. I can't do that."

She sighed and I thought she was going to give up but then she said, "In that case, do one thing for me."

I pressed my lips into a thin line and nodded, "Go ahead and tell me what you want me to do."

"Kiss me," she said without a hint of embarrassment.

I chuckled. What a girl! "If I kiss you, will you go away?"

"Yes," she replied with a smile.

I stared at her face. God, she was beautiful! She had an oval face, sexy eyes adorned with thick, velvety lashes, perfectly carved brows, a dainty nose, luscious lips, and attractive dimples.

She kept smiling at me as though she had realized that I was affected by her sweet beauty.

I convinced myself that what I was about to do was just in a bid to send her away. I held her face and softly touched her lips with mine.

What I had in mind was a brief and simple kiss but when her delicate fingers circled my neck, I became so immersed that I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss. Her lips tasted like strawberry and it was surprisingly intoxicating.

I felt a longing that I had suppressed for a very long time but forced myself to pull away from her when I got a boner.

My eyes opened and so did hers but her hands remained firm around my neck. My eyes held hers as we both breathed very fast.

Against my better judgment, I damned the consequences and cupped her face again as my lips crashed against hers in a fiery kiss but just at that moment, the door to my office was pushed open.
