Chapter 50 I hope you are okay
,,How's Daisy, Liam?" Chris asked me when I got to the office. I had a very important job and I had to come.

"Good. She should be sleeping. She's slowly getting back together. You can't tell that she loves me. She asked me why you care so much about her,"

"What.. What did you tell her? I hope it's not true,"

"Don't worry. I said that she looks a lot like your daughter and that's why you feel that way about her, but I don't know how much longer I can lie to her. She's very intelligent, wise and understanding, Chris. Probably after you," I said and laughed.

"Maybe. Probably hard after Lily," he said and smiled. I was filling out the papers. I had a feeling that she wanted to tell me something.

"Do you want to tell me something, Chris? You're making that face," I said

"Watch her, Liam.  Please. When I think about everything that's happened and how many times we've saved her, it makes me sick,"

"Daisy is fine with me, Chris. Nothing should happen to her. She should be fine. I'm absolutely sure of that. No one is getting into the apartment and Daisy shouldn't open the door for anyone," I said and smiled

"How... How are things between you and her? Does she love you?"

"No. I don't think so. I'm trying. I'm trying desperately to make her love me but she can't. I don't know why she can't, whether it's fear or because she loves James. I don't know. But Chris. She was mine,"

"What? You slept with her even though she doesn't love you?  Are you serious Liam?,,"

,,She didn't resist. I kissed her. I think if she didn't love me, she wouldn't have slept with me. Daisy isn't the kind of woman who would sleep with someone without love. Maybe she has feelings for me but doesn't want to admit it,,"

,,And what do you want to do about it?,,"

,,I want to win her love. Her attention. Her trust. I've known her for a few months now and in that short time, I've built up a relationship with her. I know her. I know her habits. I know how she feels. Daisy is the woman of my life and I don't want to lose her. She means a lot to me,," I said and smiled.

,,I wonder how this will all turn out Liam.  Will she fall in love with you and how will she react to me being her father,"

,,Chris. You should tell her. She really wants to find her father. She wants to find out who he is. Yesterday she told me she wanted to hug him. She has no idea you're her father but it won't be long before she finds out,"

,,Why do you think that?,"

,,She's very intelligent Chris. After you. You've always had a handle on numbers and Daisy is the same. She knows you had an affair with Lily. She knows you had a daughter with her but Daisy doesn't know you're her father. The day will come, sooner or later, when Chris will find out. You should tell her yourself,"

My cell phone rang. It was my mom.

"I'm listening to you," I said and looked at Chris.

"I know everything Liam. Do you hear? Becky told me everything. You're being used by some whore, some slut, and you can't get rid of her. So I'll take care of it. I'll throw her out of your apartment myself,"

"Come on. Don't you dare touch her, Mom! You don't know what you're saying and you don't know what you're doing. This is my life. I'm 38 years old. I can do with my life as I see fit,"

"You could have gotten together with Becky, but you didn't. You decided to start from scratch. Liam. You're the director of a reputable and top hospital. How could you stoop like that? Start with a woman who has no assets, no status, no money,"

"Because I love her! What don't you understand? I love her, Mom! I've been alone for years. I didn't know what love was anymore and I met her.  I fell in love with her. You don't know her from afar the way I know her. You have no idea what that girl has been through in the last few months," I screamed out loud and Chris looked at me with concern.

"She's using you. For money. She wants to be your wife so she can take James's property. I'm going there with Becky and we're going to throw her out of the apartment,"

"Don't you dare touch her, understand? Even if you throw her out, she'll end up with me again. Again! Since when have you been standing up for James and Becky? Hmm? Just so you know. I have my doubts. I really have some pretty serious doubts that James isn't my son. I think so. I found one of his hairs in the clothes I had. They're doing DNA tests.  The results will be out in a few hours and if it turns out he's not my son, he'll see,"

"I can't believe you're doubting something like that but you're going to stand up for that bitch, right?"

"Don't call her that! I'm warning you, Mom. Don't you dare throw her out. Don't you dare hurt her," I screamed again and put my jacket on

"You're a respected and wealthy man. You need a woman who will represent you, not just use you. Because that's what she does. What don't you realize? James was right. She's a zero,"

"You're not even going to touch her. Do you understand me? You're not going to go near her. Not you or Becky," I screamed and hung up. I looked at Chris.

"What happened, Liam?"

"Problem. I have to go home now. I have to go to Daisy. I knew it would end badly if I left her at home,"

"I'm coming with you. It's my daughter."  Tell me what happened," he said and put on his jacket.

"I don't know what Becky and James said to my mom, but she wants to go and throw Daisy out of the apartment. We have to be there before they do. Mom and my wonderful ex-wife,"

"Come on,"

"She was telling me a lot of nonsense on the phone, nothing was based on the truth. Just when I think nothing bad will happen and everything bad will pass, something always does. We have to be there before they do. I don't know what my own mom is capable of and especially I don't know how Daisy will react. She's very delicate,"

"You should explain everything to your mom. I'm sure this is James' job. Even after everything he's done to her, he can't leave her alone. He's obsessed with her," he said. We went to the garage together. I hope you're okay, Daisy.
